31 Chapter 31: Heaven Level Techniques

Yinling stood there, her gaze fixed on Jun, a tinge of anticipation mixed with confusion in her eyes. She felt an unusual comfort from the warmth of Jun's hand resting on her shoulder, instilling a sense of safety in her.

She turned towards him, her lips curving into a soft, tender smile.

"What do you want to show me, Jun?" she asked, her voice carrying a playful tone.

Jun naturally noticed it, but honestly speaking, he only wanted to show her how fast he could learn these heaven or king-level techniques. Although he wouldn't mind if something else happened... right now wasn't the best of times.

However, he would be lying if he said he didn't feel the effects her smile had on him.

Jun grinned sheepishly.

"Actually, how about we make a bet?"

Yinling's eyebrows arched in surprise.

"A bet...?"

"Of course!"

Now Yinling was confused, why did the atmosphere suddenly change, she had recently felt to felt something different about Jun's presence, a strange pull that she couldn't quite place. It was an odd sensation, one that seemed to intensify whenever he was near, especially now in the position they were in.

Although a little disappointed, she followed along.

"if I can learn this heaven-level technique in less than 5 minutes, you will have to do something for me, no matter what it is, deal?"

"And if you lose?"

"I'll do anything you ask," Jun declared, a teasing glint dancing in his eyes.

"You better not regret those words Jun" smiled deviously Yinling.

"As if! Step aside Yinling and prepare to lose"

Jun leaned over and grabbed one of the heaven-level techniques at random. Looking at the cover of this technique, it turned out to be a sword technique. Although he hasn't specifically focused on the ways of the sword, with his 10,000x comprehension power, it shouldn't be a big challenge.

Jun turned to Yinling and motioned for her to start counting which made Yinling raise her eyebrow. Was Jun being serious? Although she trusted Jun, this was just something she couldn't believe.

I mean, who could blame her? Learn a heaven-level technique in less than 5 minutes. She rather believed Jun was attracted to men.

Also, shouldn't he go outside to practice this technique?

Focusing on the book, he turned on his epiphany phase and within an instant, every single sentence of the book started to be ingrained into his mind at a rapid pace. Insights of its contents entered his mind, intertwining with each other and connecting to form a complete picture.

On the outside, it looked as if nothing was happening and Jun was normally reading, but inside his mind, thousands of operations were taking place inside his mind each second.

Elementary understanding...

Intermediate understanding...

Within 10 seconds, Jun had gone from zero understanding to an intermediate understanding of a heaven-level technique. If this were known to the outside world, countless geniuses would feel ashamed.

15 seconds passed and Jun slowly turned up his head smiling towards Yinling.

"What? Give up?" retorted Yinling.

Jun chuckled at her words.

"On the contrary... Let's go outside"

Yinling didn't know why but she felt a little wary of his eyes, almost as if they were laughing at her. But that's impossible! Literally only 35 seconds have passed, didn't he mention under 5 minutes?

Is he trying to show off? Thinking of this, she immediately scratched this off, Jun was not the type of person to show off like this.

They stepped outside, the cool air brushing against their skin. Jun, with a sword in hand, gestured for Yinling to stand back.

Taking out his sword from his storage space, Jun decided to go with his physical sword instead of his energy sword to not cause too much damage to the city. He had been thinking about whether it was possible he could store the entire city in his system so he could have a portable city to take with him.

"System, is it possible to store the entire city in my storage space?"

[Ding! Of course! As I stated earlier, the storage function has unlimited space]

Hearing the reply, Jun was shocked at that possibility, wouldn't that mean he could steal entire cities under anybody's nose without them knowing? Of course, he had to be touching the item for it to enter his storage function but that was still overpowered.

Focusing back, he grabbed his sword with both hands. The move he is going to do is called the Crimson Slash. As the name implies, it releases a devastating red slash that holds immense power at an incredible speed.

Although similar to one of his yellow-level techniques, if compared, the yellow technique does not hold even a fraction of the power contained in this slash.

Holding the blade firmly, he concentrated, channeling his energy into the metal. The sword began to hum, vibrating with a barely contained power. With a swift, fluid motion, Jun executed the Crimson Slash.

The surrounding air was instantly suffused with a dark red aura, exuding a force that sent tremors through the ground and caused nearby structures to quiver.

Luckily, Jun slashed toward the sky otherwise the damage would have been immeasurable.

Yinling, standing at a safe distance, gaped in sheer disbelief. Her eyes, wide and unblinking, tried to make sense of the scene before her.

"But... but how?!" she stammered, her voice barely a whisper.

She couldn't find the right words for what she just witnessed. How in the world did he learn that technique in a mere 35 seconds? The power alone in the sword slash was comparable to a peak Spiritual Pillar cultivator.

The slash quickly went into the sky breaking apart the clouds in its way, leaving a red scar in the sky for everyone to see.

Slowly bringing down his sword, Jun chuckled at her reaction, now that she had lost the bet, he wondered what he could make her do.

"So what do you think, does it meet your expectations?"

Subconsciously Yinling nodded, her worldview was currently shattered. Was Jun even human, this is something that shouldn't be possible for humans.

"Now Yinling... I'm sure you know this... but don't tell anybody of what you saw today"

Coming out of her daze, she could see the trust in his eyes that he had for her. The last thing she wanted to do was betray that.

"Of course but..." she hesitated a bit "How were you able to learn it so fast?"

Smiling at her, he gave her no response which of course Yinling understood. It was a way of telling her he trusted her enough to know what he is capable of but not how he is able to do it.

"Well... I feel we've wasted enough time, let's head back"

The reason he decided to show her was not simply out of trust but because either way, she was going to find out if they were together. It was better he let her know now than later she finds out on her own.

Back in the main residence, Jun was sitting down looking at the two emperor-level techniques in front of him, the most important for him was of course the cultivation technique which he needed to increase his cultivation.

Right now he may have the power to leapfrog, but if he meets real geniuses like back in the hell games, he is as defenseless as a chicken.

"let's start now"
