A morning about people who never saw action movies

He had no idea if it was luck or the system in front of him, but neither his pocket knife or swiss knife were even scratched, nevermind impaling his squishy bits. The paper was completly crumbled though. A fact, that with some more luck, was not going to impact his payment over today's sale.

"This probably will seem fairly suspicious to those homies, but i'm taking most of the money to them, so fat chance any warning i give bout some wannabe mafioso running over our people are going to be heard. Mark might involved too, so fuck him for now. I'll even give Ben my ass if i need it for getting out of this shit." He grumbled over the now falling rain. While the sight of a tall man in a overcoat was quite normal in the US, one that was full of scratches and talking to himself was still considered strange, so the other people waiting under the local drug store's cover without umbrellas still kept quite the distance from him.

Breathing deeply in the polluted, cold air from the night, Aki decided that was enough planing for now, he was going to check his status, since the introdutory message was just some bullshit manbo jumbo about defying heavens and his incredible luck in obtaining a gold finger.

'Medicine and psicology are level one, because sure, I never finished university, and I can understand sneaking and the others, but I am shit at handling a gun, so what the fuck is the requirement for my knowledge and experiences turning into a skill?' He questioned, not getting any sudden message.

This gold finger was able to hear his thoughts though, the command to open his status was mental after all. He could only learn by doing then.

Some people passed him by, a lot seeming not to care for the relatively strong rain. While he tried new commands, Aki simply leaned on the wall behind him and waited while holding his phone on his pocket, until it suddenly vibrated and he saw his handler was messaging him.

"Why yo white ass late? You going fo some hoe?"

'And he doesn't get why people make fun of his way of speaking. If I ever meet a guy that talks more like a geeto boy than I'll kiss his feet and apologize for all my mental critiques.'

"Just buying a drink to wait for the rain, get there in 20."

"It's *be there in 20, idiot. Learn some proper english." He wanted to shove his certificate of native speaker in the hole the man called mouth and suffocate him with it, but instead he just replied with a simple 'yes sir', and entered the store to buy some cola without showing any change in expression.

The hub was close, but the night was freezing to the natives, nevermind him. Aki still would not drink alcohol or other intoxicants though.

As someone with enough knowlege and mental resilience, he was far above trying to get a taste of anything resembling his own product. Fuck, he'd not even smoke if possible, but there's only so much you can pretend in front of people that will look down on you if are above trying something like that.

Seeing that there was actually a coffee machine inside, he asked for one espresso and practically gulped the tasteless thing down. Every man had his vice, his was simply more harmless. His gramother could take two cups before going to sleep like a rock, so the inspiration was definitly there.

Quickly running throw the rain, he simply ignored any possible message he might have gotten until he got inside the bar Mark frequented. The squigly black man tried to be intimidating, but a gun or knife were things that did not scare Aki. He triyed to shout, but literraly everyone on his family could do better. His questions were easily answered, the money was delivered and Aki was about to leave.

The wannabe thug didn't even seen to register the state of his delivery guy as much as he complained about the notes being crumbled.

As Aki was about to leave though, he had a bad feeling.

'Would that piece of shit actually be smart enough to even think of betraying the gang?' Quickly saying he was going to the bathroom he got his phone out and ignored the smell of old piss on the floor before calling Ben. The giant of a man might have seemed scary and dump, but to Aki that only meant he was a target he knew how to manipulate and befriend for benefits.

"Yes?" Asked the confused rough voice in the other side of the line. Aki wasn't one to call much.

"Ben, no time for shit, i might be fucked, don't trust Mark, get the boss out of the house. *Bang* Son of a bitch i was right, i'ma gonna call that favor you own me and ask you prepare a med kit and a ride for me, i will need it a the northwest hub." He quickly said while taking his gun out, a knife was going to be useless before he got magic or whatever.

"Got it." One of the good things about the big lug and his act of idiot, was that he always talked little even though he was one of the smartests guys around. That had saved his life many times already, so Aki was confident the man would be there if he didn't send someone he trusted.

That would only matter if he didn't get a bullet to the head though.

He had mana, energy, fuck that, but no clue how to use, so his first instinct was to reach for his 'dantian' and try to push his energy upwards into his eyes, which just so happened to actually be quite hard to do while listenning for footsteps with the sink he'd opened. The idea of kneeling behind the door had certainly been the right one, since aparently, one of the guys had a semi that could shoot through the, admitedly thin, walls.

Imersed in his own world and with his ears ringing to the acelerated beat of his heart, Aki may not have been able to see through the walls, but he somehow had a good a idea of where the shooter was, so he shot back three times, all of them aparently hitting someone, because the rain of bullets stopped. Aki shot again before going through the door, only to find the man had a hole in his hand, liver and leg, one of his shots aparently missing.

He didn't know how to use a bigger weapon well enough, so his revolver was still important, which made him stab the man's neck and cranium multiple times before the knife got stuck, his hand slick with blood, and his time a bit wasted.

Grabbing the fallen weapon, he cheked with one hand if the man had a phone, it seemed important at the moment for some reason, and pocketed it before going towards the kitchen, which had the closest exit. A mexican boy worked here every other day and because of him he had the key for employees . No more context for you.

There was one guy taking a bite of something in a time like this, because of course there is, but Aki simply run to him knife ready and stabbed his side while holding his mouth before he could notice anything. He was never good at the stealth part, but the rest was all fair game. He considered letting the gas out of the oven as a parting gift, but even this was going to call a lot of attention, nevermind an explosion, so he just threw all the oil, vinager and lard on the ground, which was fairly quick considering how close those were to each other.

Before leaving through the metal door, he simply swung it open and threw himself against the wall, but no one shot at him, so he considered it safe enough.

Luckily he wasn't rewarded with a grenade.

Running through several side streets, he noticed he had several notifications from his gold finger blinking for attention in his periferal vision, some skills, two kill notifcations and a quest completion note.

It didn't take long for him to be out of breath though, so next thing he did was to get his phone out and call his gorilla sized companion, he didn't answer the call though, so Aki imediatly gave up on the thought and went to a store to buy a new coat.

thirty bucks poorer, he now wore a black jacket while curving his spine so as to seem smaller.

It was surprisingly easy to have the cashier not notice the blood on him since he dropped the long sleeved vest from before and now wore gloves, which he didn't like using because they were never his thing, but were most certainly nescessary if he wanted to work with crime.

Going the same direction the cops were coming from, he was pretty much ignored, one of the advantages being a caucasian with extensive experience in being clinically depressed, so when he got a call, he didn't change his sad expression at all and just followed his own teatrics by sighing and asking who it was.

"Where the fuck are you? Me and the boss were shot, but i drove to the place you said. My nerves are not the best right now and the boss it calling some people, so please tell me you are not involved in this."

"I'm not. I'm close to you and running though, so just apply preasure on your wound any way you can because your life actually depends on it. How's the med kit i asked for?"

"You better be telling the truth there, because i don't know if we were followed, and i would like to trust my guts even if i they are about to spill out."

"Just to be honest here than, good chance you will need special care then, talking actual medical center, and maybe no hookers and alcohol for a couple of months."

"Useless you don't get here fast enough."

"Never plan for defeat you idiot, think of all the hookers who will suck your dick after you becoming the acting capo!"

"He's not dead."

"We both know there's a non zero chance that will change. Now, have you thrown alcohol on the wound? Have some of those drinks on the fridge and don't touch the beer, it's just rat poison and piss."

"You're one sick fuck, you know that?"

"Your sister screams that a lot on bed. Now i'm here, not there, but no chance i'm having you call me master." He said while turning the two meter tall golias on the chair he stood.

"I'ma gonna punch your teeth out when i can actually move my waist." The obviously discolorating bald man grinned at seeing his friend even though the way he removed the bandage hurt a lot.

"Just to confirm, you think i have an actual chance of taking her on a date if i save your life?" Asked the squinting man who had quickly shoved his finger inside the bullet wound after disinfecting his hands, getting a fell for it while ignoring the screams. "A bit lower and your intestines would have a huge gash, a bit to the left and something i don't even remenber the name of would have been pierced. The real good part is that this will only cause a lot of pain, the bullet went clean through. I guess that's one advantage of being shot by a good gun."

"No shit, next time I see those bitches I'll just shoot their balls with a small caliber then." The man said before seeing Aki take out a saturation kit and dropping a lot of pure alcohol on it.

"Yeah well, not sure if you will have the chance. You ain't going to be in a position to shoot even your seed without seeing red, and I don't think they are going to just let you kill then after they had so much trouble taking down Benjamin the Brute." He offered the man a cloth to put on his mouth, and after receiving a nod, started kneading the holes shut.

In the middle of this, another man walked in, and seeing his subordinate actually being treated, he let his gun down and approached.

"I presume you're 'Aki'? You don't seem like a jap though." He asked while going for another seat.

"My baby sister calls me like that and she is a jap. I like it more than my actual name and I now have a new life, so now I have a new name. Should I just call you boss?" His hands didn't stop while he swiftly passed the line through his friend's skin for the second time.

"Name's Josh. Do know how you figured there was going to be an attack, but I own you." And that was about the end of their interactions.

The next thing anyone spoke was only a recommendation to everyone drink a lot of water and sleep for the day.

Aki just wanted to finally look through his notifications though.
