4 Cultivation (1/2)

[You can now cultivate, good job on gaining a brain! However, the system won't be able to help you much, as the system doesn't possess a lot of knowledge on plant cultivation, the system would be better with a human host.]

Erik really wanted to start trying out the new functions of his body, but firstly, he had to understand what exactly was this system.

_"I get that you that you're helping me, but why? Where do you come from?"

[Those questions, host, are the kind I will tell you the answers when the time is right.]

_"Fine, I get it. But at least, tell me, where am I right now? Is this plant growing exactly where I died, on the battlefield?"_

[Your position, right, now, is on a mountain that the system has no idea of the name. The system was able to transfer your soul in something up to five kilometers away from where you died. The system chose this dragon tree seed because of its excellent living conditions, near a river with good access to the sun.]

Satisfied with the system's answer, Erik concentrated on the flux of information he had access to. It seems he has developed something like a brain, as he could finally grasp some of the data, trying to modify it. What he perceived from it was about the life force inside his body, the different source of energy he could have access to from the outside as well as the way to improve his body by using all kind of source.

He could sense something like extremely small vessels all around his body, currently empty, but he had the feeling they could be filled using his environment. As he focused on the outside, a mysterious intuition gave him the procedure to cultivate. He could perceive earth, water, sun, and life energy all around him.

Even though he was buried, as a seed, it seemed like all those things could reach him. They all had a different purpose, each being able to improve himself, but he felt they were also completing each other. Erik felt quite intimate with them, as if his body was made to fit them all.

Sun energy would enhance the largeness of his vessels, enabling him to take in a larger quantity of outside forces. Right now, he didn't have access to a lot of it as since he was underground. The richest one was obliviously the earth energy, which would make his vessels tougher, becoming more apt of taking in energy which he didn't have high affinity with.

He guessed that maybe he would be able to use something even like fire energy one day if he used enough earth energy. Water energy was similar to sun and earth energy, in the way that it improved the vessels. Water energy made the flow of energy move faster while he absorbs it. Basically, those three types of energy would not improve his physique, only his intake of even more energy.

Life energy, however, was directly enhancing his body. It would improve his defensive mechanism against diseases and insects, also increasing the hardness of his coating. He didn't know exactly how much other kinds of energy was present in the world, but he could comprehend that a lot of different energy source existed in the world.

As it seemed the most useful one, Erik tried to direct the life energy surrounding him, coming from other plants and microorganisms, into his vessels. He could feel a channel open from the inside to the outside, attracting life energy in his body. It gave off a good feeling, actually reminding Erik of when, as a human, he was meditating in the woods, something he loved to do to relax from the stress, especially after a robbery.

The way air felt so fresh, nature smelled so good, and sounds were so calming, that was the sensation he obtained from absorbing life energy. It passed through his vessels, extremely slowly, making its way all around in the seed, and going out afterward.

When quitting his body, it didn't feel like life energy anymore. He had great difficulty actually sensing it after, as if it became something completely different then before.

_"Interesting. It's like I change its properties once I use it."_thought Erik

But what surprised Erik even more was that some of the energy did not leave him, as a very limited part of it was gathering toward the center of the vessels, forming a little ball. It was still an insignificant gathering right now, but Erik felt that this would be an important aspect of cultivation.

Actually, he didn't know anything about it, even though he bought {greater perception]. Erik was realizing that the information he got from the earlier transformation was only the basic, he would have much to learn from now on, if he wanted to cultivate seriously.
