10 Cool cat

Animals did not attack Erik even when he became a sprout, he believed that it was because their instincts told them just how extremely dangerous the sun energy was. But here, right before him, there was a beast two meter tall, a ferocious looking wolf. Sharpened fangs were displayed in its mouth, along with ferocious claws at the end of its paw, everything for a scary monster was present.

Erik didn't know if he could kill it, the animal may even be in possession of a core, that would be a disastrous situation to Erik. He was already channeling sun energy out from his core, preparing to fight the wolf with all his strength, spending all of his power in the maneuver. As the wolf was threateningly nearing the sprout, it suddenly stopped, collapsing to the ground.

Erik was surprised, but he noticed something, the wolf was actually in a really bad condition. Its life energy was sluggish, Erik could sense that the beast was full of wounds. It was not dead, but it didn't seem like the animal could continue for long, it was quite pitiful. Suddenly, Erik perceived something else, coming leisurely in the wolf's direction.

It was actually a cat, not a domesticated one, but a small wild cat. Its fur was black with a tinge of scarlet red, it was quite beautifully arranged, making it look a bit cute. However, Erik could not think of it as a harmless animal for long, as it came to the wolf and fatally struck it, using fire energy, something Erik had never felt before.

The feline then threw him a sinister look, showing to the sprout its golden eyes, with a trace of pride and aggressiveness to them. But it was not long before it took its interest back on the wolf, starting to eat it carefreely. Erik was shocked, this little beast could actually control fire energy, he didn't know if it would be interested in consuming his body full of life energy.

He knew that cats were not herbivorous, but he couldn't just bet everything on that, so he stayed on guard, carefully watching the feline bite and swallow for some time. When it finally looked satisfied, it went closer to Erik, who was ready at any moment to use sun energy to attack. But he didn't need it in the end, as the cat just went to drink by the river, then started sleeping two meters away from him.

_"So it doesn't want to eat me... but it's not even going away?"_

That's when he noticed something, life energy was simply overflowing from the cat, as if the small animal carried multiples plants along, but it was really just coming from his body.

_"So those who cultivated produce much more life energy, I see. It's not like me who absorbed a lot of it into myself, it seems this beast simply is so strong that it generates it in abundance."_

Erik tried to take some of it in, but it was really not the same feeling as before. This life energy was not so gentle, it was a bit hard to channel it in the vessels, but it was still able to slowly pass in a steady flow. In comparison with other plant's or insect's life energy, this one was much more concentrated, the speed of his cultivation with it was very good.

[The system has made a discovery! The system can see that the beast is actually cultivating right now and seem to have at its disposition a lot of the world's vitality. That means life energy, probably along with every type of energy, transform into world's vitality once you channel it in your vessels, and this cat right now is using you while you are using him, it's a complementary process.]

_" Wow, well I hope it likes my presence as much as I appreciate it's own, I don't want to get kill by it just like that, it would be so disappointing after all the effort I made to survive."_

When the cat woke up, it immediately went away, and Erik was not sure if he should be happy that such a dangerous being left or dissatisfied since this excellent cultivation companion got away. However, he didn't have much time to worry about it before the cat actually came back, fresh blood covering his fur, it obliviously went hunting. The feline cleaned itself in the small river, and came back to Erik, sleeping directly on the ground, as it seems it was its cultivating while doing that.

_"Thinking about it, I never really slept after being a plant, did I? Not like I miss it, it's definitely only wasted time."_

After a few days, a routine has been created between the cat and the sprout. It slept to cultivate, hunted and drank by the river, and went back to sleep. Erik would simply continue to absorb energies, having his core get more and more volume, it was actually starting to get as large as one of the beetles that attacked him. The insects' assaults had actually stop for now, as if they were intimidated by the feline's power even more than sun energy.

Soon, Erik could feel something transpire inside his core, some changes would take place.
