65 The Main Base, Ellie abandoned?

Soon after Asmer left, Leora emerged from Dan. And of course, the first thing she tried to do was to tie Dan up.

"Hey, w-what are you doing?!" Dan struggled as he escapes from Leora's grasp.

"Are you stupid? I'm tying you up! What else am I going to do with this rope in my hand?"

"That's not the point! Why are you trying to tie me up?! We're the same person, aren't we? What good will this do?" Dan retorted while he continued to avoid Leora's attempts to capture him.

"Hmph! This is for your own good. Who knows what happen if you get one of them pregnant? I know you've set your sight on Asmer! This is a precaution. From now on I will handle all the delegate stuff. You're not allowed to get into contact with any other girls." With a single breath, Leora let out her hidden feelings.

"Hohoho, so you are jealous? There there." Dan ducks behind Leora and pats her back.

"D-damn it! It's f-for our sake! Get back here!" Her face turned bright red, and she stuttered continuously.

"Alright, I won't mess around so much anymore alright? Why would I do that when I have the most beautiful flower by my side." Dan shoved a spoon into Leora's opened mouth.

Her eye widened in shock for a moment, until she tasted it. This is a mango pudding?

"There you go, I feel bad for destroying that piece of ice cream. So here's a plate of pudding to make up for my mistake alright?" Dan threw a small plate of pudding over. The dessert on the bowl wobbles as it flew toward Leora.

The moment the plate of mango pudding appeared, Leora greedily snatched it from the air and stuff it into her mouth. Her face brightened up as she savours the first food she has tasted.

"Looks like you are enjoying the food." Dan nods his head.

Leora froze, and when she looked at Dan's grinning face, her heart softened. Wait, damn it. He's trying to get away. "Hmph, you think just a pudding is enough to placate me?"

"Alright, 10 puddings."

"Erm..." Leora's eyes thought about it.

"Of different flavours, I will even throw in ice cream."

"DEAL!" Leora covered her mouth too late. Argh, was that pudding poisoned? How did I fall for that ploy?

"Hahaha don't worry that pudding wasn't poisoned. My love for you is the one poisoning you, my sweetheart." Dan whispered into Leora's left ear. Oh, look her ears are reddening in embarrassment.

Furthermore, Dan blew a breath of air into Leora's red ears, causing her to blush even further.

"Damn it, let's go! [Elemental Portal]." Leora dragged Dan into the portal which connects them to Dan's secret fortress. To which hundreds of Angels stand saluted at the duo's arrival.

-----------------------------------------

"Not bad, this room is air-conditioned?"

"Of course it is. Athena's main drivers are here. Her core is in the centre of the room." Dan led Leora to the centre of the room where a large core lies in the centre. The room was shaped strangely. They were walking on an alleviated platform, and the room was spherical in shape.

The walls were extremely reflective. One could see their reflection with ease or with every detail.

"Beautiful. The memory storages are behind those reflective walls." Leora pointed at the reflective wall. A 'piece' of the wall was pulled open. The opening was so smooth that even Leora couldn't find a single mistake.

Like opening a drawer, the contents in that 'piece' of the wall was revealed.

"Processor cores," Dan commented. "There are more processor cores than any other supercomputer."

"The people on Earth are bounded by constraints. Energy, material, efficiency, heat management. But we are not. With all these resources it is possible to push my 'toys' to unforeseeable heights.

Come here to the factory, the 'toys' are produced there." Dan pushed the 'drawer' back into the wall. It slides back so perfectly that one cannot tell that the walls are actually made out of tonnes of 'drawers'. All they would think that the walls are a perfect mirror. Without any scratch or henge.

Dan lead Leora into another room connected to the central core. It was a long walk. Even with accelerated walking speed, it took 25 minutes to reach the end of the core room.

"Woah!" Leora's eyes glitter as she examines the new room. Rows and columns of humanoid robots were hung over one another. There were in total 50 columns vertically(y-axis) and an unending row(x-axis) on both sides. A path spilt in the centre of the humanoid bots.

And on each line was many more other bots, lined up in a straight line(z-axis). The 'eyes' of these 'toys' were bright red. Giving one who walks on the centre path an extreme eerie sensation.

"Cold..." Leora muttered as she feels the material of the humanoid drones. "This is? Titanium alloy?"

"Yep. A decent build for a weapon to use on the mortals. This is what's great about not being bound by the restrictions that my people on Earth suffer from.

Titanium, a metal 40% lighter than steel. Though not as strong, its lightweight nature allows the humanoid drones to move much faster. The inside is well made too. I left them to the angels to experiment and research on them.

Angels are excellent researchers and scientists. Their long lifespan makes them experienced. The moment I introduce the basics of science they got so excited.

Their knowledge in the field of science in Alcanti has probably grown larger than mine. See these drones, they are made in a way that it is easy to mass-produce. Currently, we have 80,000 functioning humanoid drones.

Each is equipped with a mass-produced machine gun attached with a bayonet since the drones are capable of a superhuman feat, their firepower is increased dramatically while maintaining accuracy.

Capable of withstanding high and low temperature means that these drones would not collapse from ice or fire-based spells. And all of this will be controlled by a single mind. Athena, the main AI in charge of all of the operations of the machine empire.

This ensures that there will be no blind spot and ambushes will be much less effective than usual. The power core is located in the centre of the body. Machines do not suffer from fatigue like humans do. So long duration of combats can be sustained.

Lastly, there is no pain from losing any of these 'soldiers'." As Dan finished explaining the basic model of his drones, Dan grabbed one out of the line and smashed it onto the floor.

The ground cave in and the Titanium armour of the drone broke apart, revealing its internal strands of 'muscles'.

"See the durability is decent. Though it only takes one hit from me to disable the protective titanium armour." Dan shrugged and moved on. Soon after the duo left, the ground healed itself, and an angel cleaned up the broken drone.

"Hahaha, looks like you had some fun designing this place. Nice lounge." Leora jumped onto the nearest sofa once she entered the new room. "So what about those others, don't tell me you forgot about artillery, tanks, planes and satellite."

"Haha... about that..." Dan scratches his cheeks as he recounts about those projects. They were met with an immense number of failures.

"Oh I see, the first problem was oil... The angels underestimated it's combustion capabilities, crude oil is a still a new thing. And they burnt down the entire oil rig. So no oil equates to no vehicle. But they are currently testing out elemental energy as a form of fuel. No success yet.

That pretty much sums up the lack in development of vehicles. Also, the air current in high attitudes in this world is extreme. Resulting in the first angel death in experimental failure.

The artillery tests all ended in failure. On the first test, the firing power was too high causing the entire stand to flip. On the second try, it exploded.

Such a shame, even with all those high-quality materials, there is little success in the experimental areas. The only reason why the drones succeed was that they are similar to Arcane mechanizations in certain ways. Disappointing." Leora was able to deduce the cause of all the failures with a single glance.

"Ahaha... Well, I'm no expert in this kind of stuff... Don't worry we should be able to get some success sooner or later in about 5 years." Dan gave a deep sigh. "At least we have a working army now hahaha."

"That's only if project Athena succeeds." Leora coldly answered.

"Ah it seems like Elise and Ellie has taken too long... the human's army is here. How unfortunate, Elise almost killed off Justin. Time to retrieve Emma and Elise." Dan changed the topic and opened an elemental portal.

"Not saving Ellie?"

"I have other plans for her."

"I see." Leora simply nodded her head and lied flat on the sofa like a lazy cat. "Don't forget my food."

"Right right," Dan replied.

"Who the hell are you?!" Elise yelled with anger, her fury is clearly visible to the nearby humans. Since when have they arrive? Damn it, I was so close. Just a tiny bit more.

The sharp pointy tip of the halberd was pressed against Justin's neck. Despite Elise using her fullest strength, she couldn't send Justin's head flying. She was blocked by this strange knight. A knight in golden armour the golden helmet was shaped like the lion's head.

Tsk this is the real deal! This is a Protector.

"Why have you come to this barren land great protector?" Elise withdraws instantly, she had no confidence of beating one of The Protectors of mankind.

"The prophet has mentioned that humanity will go extinct if the southern territory is not taken back. As a fellow human, do you not have the responsibility to take the side of humanity when its fate is at stake?" The golden armoured man extended his arm towards Elise. This action gave off a simple and direct message. Join him.

Without hesitation, Elise shook her head in contempt, "I refuse."

"Then die." A raging golden aura plunged Elise feet onto the ground. So powerful, she thought. The bones in her legs cracked under the intense pressure and Elise gritted her teeth in horror. This man is holding back...

Elise's deduction was correct, right beside the protector was Justin whose entire body was covered in blood. If not for the presence of Justin, would she not have died already. Before the situation could further escalate, Elise was dragged into an elemental portal.
