A daughter is never asked what her wishes/dreams are. She is told and given a huge list of what she should expect and what she should not expect. What career she should choose so that it won’t bring hurdles in her married life in the future, and so that she can cater to the needs of her in-laws and husband. She is never asked how she wants to live her life. She is told how to live her life based on the rules and regulations which are laid down by society.
