My parent's love life had always been on the edge since I could remember but things had gotten worse and they both decided to go their separate ways.
But their separation is something my brother and I have always expected and we decided to not choose either party when they finally decide to leave each other.
So we decided to stay over at our aunt's who has always spoilt us rotten since our childhood, cause money was never a problem for her, More so she teaches in a very prestigious school - Crestwood high - a dream school for all teens in the country of Neverlands and the possibility of us going to the school would be 100%, to say the least.
What's more, her two kids are way older than us but vibe with us like we are mates, what else can a child want more than a peaceful home with lots of love?
A week after they finalized their divorce, my brother and I moved to our aunt's Place, a duplex painted in sky blue and white with a splash of gold here and there, the house was built like a castle meant for royalties and as beautiful as it was outside it was even more magnificent on the inside and we were both given our rooms with queen sized beds, It was a change we were happy to embrace.
After we got settled down my aunt decided to ask us about our education since our previous school was thousands of miles away from our current residence and she decided it would be best if we both enrolled in the school she teaches as a border cause even if the school was in another state it was still better than her having to leave us here alone cause both her kids were in college at the time. Well, our chances of moving to her school moved 101% and I for one was more than happy with this new change.
After we settled down we were both given a thousand dollars cash at the time to get ourselves school necessities then I decided to go to the community shopping mall to get myself some of my dream clothes I had been eyeing online and definitely provisions of course.
The mall here was even bigger than the one we had in our countryside and I shopped till I dropped
As I finished my shopping spree I figured out the goods were more than I could carry then I decided to order an uber
when he arrived he came out to help me
" Good day, let me help you with that" he said
I was more than surprised cause most uber drivers don't care about such gentlemanly manners.
Apart from the fact that he had good manners he was Tall dark and handsome - which we call TDH for short in school - and I couldn't help but constantly check him out in the driver's mirror
At the moment I felt extremely self-conscious of my dress and how I looked, cause for a girl of 16 I was kinda bigger than most kids at my age and I had always been insecure about it
He kept smiling each time we made contact which if I could count was only twice, the first with him helping me with my bags and the second he told me we had arrived at my destination
" Wow, you live here? "
" yes I do"
" OMG! I live exactly opposite you! how come we are just meeting? "
" well actually my brother and I just moved in here with our aunt "
"oh cool its nice meeting you neighbor "
he stretched his hand towards the back seat to shake me
" yes it is" I shake him back then dropped to take my luggage with me which he still helped me with
" Goodbye neighbor," he said while leaving
I stood there for a minute smiling sheepishly at the ghost of the car
