Aurora's Team

"Third Formation.", Aurora shouted.

Two guys started to change their positions through zig zag movements while advancing. From above them arrows started to pass. Aurora was against the group she commanded and had a spell prepared for attack. So she ice speared on their direction.

"It's mine.", one of the fighters on the run yelled. He was with a greatsword on his hands and as the spell approached he swung the weapon against it. The blade cut through the spell but then she snapped her fingers.

"My turn.", another boy a little away from the front line said. "Containment.", various spheres rounded the ice shards which exploded not too long after. "Keep going.", he ordered the warriors on his front.

So the both resumed the advacement. The arrows were hitting ice made targets that would vanish and reappear on another location. The group was solid without Aurora as a caster and greater with her.

The two got close of her and her field was realeased making the targets disappear and her the focus of the entire team. The shield and hammer showed themselves for the rest again till the last train. The girl on attack got her sword and shield. The boy gripped his greatsword more fiercely. The real battle started.

"Be aware of her counters.", the controller said.

"Okay.", the warriors shouted and lunged an attack each one.

"Careless as always.", Aurora said and her shield made both defenses at the same time. The hammer went looking for both together as it was massive.

"Fire Shield.", the girl said and her shield was ablaze. Making Aurora redirect her attack to the ground. "Go.", she said to her partner.

"Okay.", he stepped side ways and lunged one more time.

"Fake it.", the controller said it and the warrior changed his attack into a spin slash on mid air.

While he was in middle execution to perform a few arrows were shot from distance activating the shield on other locations. Spread and conquer was the goal but the hidden goal was to weaken her main shield to his attack. Which was a failure and his weapon even got stuck on it.

"I told you are too careless.", the hammer hit him through the shield breaking both and pushing into the ground. "The strength of a arrow isn't comparable with a sword. I don't need that much to stop ranged attacks."

"Change.", one of the archers said to the controller.

"Okay.", the controller went to the ranger position and started to use spells.

"Field expansion.", the former archer said and everything around him was alive at least to his perception. "Shield change and then lunge."

"Got it.", she did as he told. Her shield was still ablaze so went through the defense and the lunge almost hit Aurora if wasn't for her mirror image.

"Spin attack now.", she did again as commanded and this made their enemy retreat with the huge weapon.

"I can't take the lead in this way.", Aurora said while her shields were generating and blocking a lot of ranged attacks. "But I took out your best damage already.", she looked at the boy unconscious on the ground. "Freezing Floor.", she casted a spell and froze the lefting warrior on the location.

"Fire Storm.", the man ordered again.

"WHAT?", she replied to him and delayed her attack for a second at most which was enough to Aurora take her down with the hammer.

"Don't question the superiors' orders.", Aurora said looking at the girl defeated.

"Change.", the controller said tooking his place again. At the moment he did so he already started to block a lot of ice spears. "Enhance Power.", he buffed his teammates.

"Field Translocation.", she said and the shields started to block the incoming attacks as she stayed put but from time to time she was capable of advancing step by step.

"This is insanity.", the woman archer said. "She is too powerful."

"Keep firing.", the controller said. "Now fire around her and on her front.", from his perspective there was enough arrows on the ground for his next move but still too little for her power.

A few minutes went away while doing this. So the archers went out of arrows.

"Protect me.", the controller ordered and started to chant. "For those who fell on the battlefield and were left without the proper ceremony. I present you the perpertuor the way out of their curse. Hellfire Wave."

The arrows started to explode starting on him and going into Aurora's position. After the explosion the arrows were still on blue flames.

"A THIRD LEVEL?!", one of the archers yelled on hearing the chant finished.

Spells have some categories as buff and damage but what reign them more are their level. Which determine how much they are worth on the battlefield. Students from the First Year are capable of doing at their best Fourth Level Spells.

Zero level are normally auxiliary spells and the damage ones don't do much impact on a battle. Firebolt is a example. So don't take Archer as a example. First Level are the common go for a First Year student. They are balanced and don't consume much Magic for what they do. Second Level are the middle casting for them. Used on risk situations but still with cautious. Third Level are the high cast. A lot of potential and so a huge backlash for their low Magic stat. Fourth are for the exception kids.

"Devil's Step.", Aurora said and a huge mist was formed blinding everyone on the battle.

"What happened?", the woman archer said.

"She countered.", the controller replied still blind. "She must ha..."

"Ulisses?", the other archer asked. "Field Expansion. DUCK BARBARA."

"Duc..."

As the mist went down the controller as the woman archer were knocked down. Resting on the field only Aurora and the archer. He fastly looked after her and saw what happened. She froze the flames that were coming from the arrows on her around.

"Come at me, Leonard."

"Projection: Sword.", a semi transparent blade appeared on his hand. "Okay.", he advanced.

She fastly created an ice broquel on her left arm and so the exchange of blows began. He was not faster than her and she was primarily a caster so this was supposed to be correct. But even with a little shield she was chosing to avoid his blade touch.

"Projection: Arrows.", he said and as the arrows were created they would sololy went against her but this time she would use the shield to block. "You know how to battle me surprisingly."

"I learned after taking some risks on the last couple battles.", she replied.

"How did you stopped the Hellfire Wave?", they were talking while fighting seriously and so she delayed her answer because of it.

"I enhanced a Second Level casting.", she said and with luck hit him on the left side of his right leg.

"I thought you were aimming at my other leg."

"I was."

"Fair enough.", as he said she understood his Field.

Fields are expecionally great additions to one's power but where lie this kind of power there is a way to counter it. Knowing about other's Field is the way to beat them. Leonard's Field was a mental field as he has a Psychic mutation and affinity for precognition magic. His Field is a comportament read. Based on your movement start he can read the whole action. Together with his presence detection he can command very well a unit in the battlefield.

She did a big swung with her hammer and again was read by Leonard's Field but this time he was slashed on the chest. Again he felt like something was off. He considered the worst situation where she understood his Field. For his unluck that was the case.

"Projection: Swords.", the arrows were now swords flying at her but as she did before she was avoid some and blocking the rest. Then when one was blocked. "Establish Connection."

"What?", she said before the spell connect their minds.

Leonard's magic was built around his Psychic powers. So when one of his projection is in touch with the enemy and him. He can drag both of them into one's subconcious to fight there. They always go for the strongest subconscious but this is left unknown for the target.

"I wasn't in touch with you."

"Were you?", he said and the sword on her shield was connected through various swords till one on his own hand. "The truth is that they can be totally invisible."

"Whatever.", she said and on a snap of finger they were outside that place.

"What happened?", he asked to her while being on his knees. The side effect was huge when the enemy break free from the Connection.

"We were on my mind and there I can do whatever I want."

"How did you know about it?"

"I was mirrored.", she said. "As we are only capable of seeing ourselves on the mirror that's the image we have of ourselves. If I was on your mind this wouldn't happen.", she explained.
