Location: Drill Island.

As Kong leaves, Jayson looks down at the bundle of paper in his hand. He unties the rope holding the bundle together and begins to leaf through the first bundle. In about thirty minutes he is done with the first.

'The first bundle contains various smelting and refining techniques. It also contains descriptions of various materials that the smith knows of. This is very helpful to me as this bundle informs him that there are some very good tree species for shipbuilding on this island.' Jayson carefully puts the bundle of papers together and picks the next bundle. He goes through the new stack of papers in ten minutes.

'This bundle is on ship building and repair. It contains various techniques and tools needed to build and repair a basic ship. Some of the writing is not the old smith's. It seems he got his hands on a shipwright's notes.' Jayson puts the second bundle together and moves to the next. He begins to read the bundle when he hears Kong return with dinner.

"OoohOooh." The humandrill shouts excitedly as it carries a deer on its shoulders. Jayson notices that the deer was killed by a single shot to the head.

"Good, I'll clean and cut the meat when you return with firewood. You must watch me carefully then." The humandrill nods and rushes off to bring some wood for a fire. Jayson looks at the last bundle he was reading and decides to read it later. He picks up the three bundles and takes them into the cabin.

Once inside, he places the bundles on a table in the living room. After, he moves to the kitchen to grab some knives, spices and large pots. He heads outside once more and proceeds to take apart the deer. He washes the good parts and buries the waste. He is not interested in the skin of the beast, so, he throws that away also.

Kong had already returned before Jayson was done cleaning the meet. The humandrill had found a dry old log and it had already begun to chop up the wood. Jayson is very impressed with Kong as he only needed to show the beast twice how to chop wood using an axe. The humandrill learned the skill quickly and by its twelfth swing, the animal had become good at it.

Jayson sets up the fire and skewers the spiced meat. He hangs the first batch of meat above the fire.

"OohOooah." Jayson nods his head at the drooling humandrill.

"Yes yes, you did a good job Kong. I'll give you a very big piece." Jayson already plans to devour the entire deer tonight as he is not interested in keeping leftovers.

'I must eat more to gain more calories and proteins. That will allow me to increase my muscle mass quicker.' Jayson drags the remains of the dry log close to the fire to use as a seat. He looks at his crew member and decides to talk with it.

"Yo Kong, doesn't your clan of humandrills live on the other-side of the island? why did you leave them?" Jayson asks this as he looks up at the sky to watch the setting sun.

In a flurry of noises and humandrill sign language, Kong explains how it was exiled from it's clan because it slept with its senior brother's woman. In anger, Kong's senior brother, the future king of humandrills on this island, beat Kong up and banished it.

"CawCawCawCaw…" Jayson cannot hold in his laughter. "Seems humandrills copied human infidelity CawCaw." Kong looks ashamed and rubs the back of its head.

"Kong, I've been thinking. I'll need labor to build my ship. Is there anyway you can challenge for the right to be king." Jayson is making plans on becoming the shadow ruler of the humandrills on this island. Kong looks up sharply at Jayson's words. In a serious tone, the humandrill explains a couple sacred rites in its clan.

"So it's possible. Just that it hasn't been done in over a hundred years. CawCawCaw, whoever your father chooses as his fighter is in trouble when they face your gun skills." The humandrill shakes his head at Jayson's words.

"OohAahOooo" Kong with some fear in its voice and body language tells Jayson of its grandfather, who is very strong. Apparently when Kong's grandfather attacks seriously, it disappears from sight. Plus, the attacks are strong enough to break large trees and stones.

"Incredible. That strength seems beyond what regular East Blue folks can handle. Do you know how your grand pa can do that Kong." The answer Kong gives is pretty simple.

"The royal humandrills are very strong? The older you get, the stronger you are. That doesn't make sense Kong. Don't your people train?"

{Train?} Kong replies wondering if this train brings food. At this Jayson is astounded. He stops talking to Kong for a moment so he can think.

'I remember that strong people in this world give birth to very talented children. Strength can be passed on through genes. Hmm, so the ancestor of Royal humandrills on this islands must've been very strong. Which means…' Jayson looks at Kong for a moment to analyze it.

'If I let Kong grow up naturally, he'll be very strong. Though from its words, it'll be around thirty to forty years of age to have that kind of strength.' At that point Kong will be in its 'prime'. This prime lasts till Kong reaches 50 and starts to decline till it dies.

'Currently, Kong is six years old…' Jayson shakes his head. 'CawCaw, that's too long. I'm sure if I train Kong seriously, Kong will become strong quick because of its natural talent.' Jayson smiles evilly as he plans to put the humandrill through hell.

Jayson gets up and switches the meat skewer on the fire with another. He sets the meat aside in a clean pot and covers it. He thinks of the challenge ritual and the negatives of using it to take over the humandrills.

'Even when Kong becomes strong enough to win, he won't be a true King as he does not have the heart of the people. So I must create a scheme like the government toppling intelligence agencies on earth do.' Jayson keeps plotting his first steps in this world as he prepares the rest of the meat. Once the food is ready, Jayson and Kong dig into a meal of fruits and meat. The meat tastes both sweet and spicy as Jayson used a mixture of honey and peppers to coat it. Both of them eat till no food remains and their bellies are extended.

"Wtf! Meat shouldn't taste that good!"

"OohOh" The humandrill beside him agrees. It is currently nighttime and the stars are out. Jayson and Kong both yawn simultaneously.

"Let's go sleep. I'll take the bed, you can sleep on the roof till I build a hammock that can hold your weight." Jayson and Kong both head to the positions. They both pass out as soon as they hit the hay. They are both dead tired, afterall, it's been an eventful day.

Next day: August 11

Time 10:46am

Jayson woke up early this morning around 7. He did some light exercise: push-ups, pull ups, sit ups, and mixed martial arts practice. He let Kong sleep in as he wanted to try out various moves with his new body. He thought he would require a lot of time to adapt but because of his Devil fruit, that improved his physical and mental capabilities, he could do a lot of his old moves without problems.

"I have seven years before canon. I must be at Vice-admiral level by then so I can influence this world with confidence. Plus, there are some crew members that will be troublesome to acquire." Jayson already has a list of prospective members of his crew. The list mainly contains people who are strong but have no haki. Only one person on that list possesses haki, and Jayson plans torture the bastard till he submits.

If the person doesn't? Well, Jayson has an idea on how to steal devil fruits that he'll love to try.

'If the idea works, then things will become very fun.' Jayson thinks this to himself as he prepares to punch a boulder. He is currently standing five meters in front of the large rock. He then enters a Jeet Kun Do stance. Before he joined the military, Jayson took American Karate classes. In the Air Force, his team leader was obsessed with American Taekwondo and that was the martial art the team trained the most.

After Jayson left the military, Jayson took mixed martial arts classes to stay in shape. There he learnt a mix of Jeet Kun Do and Krav Maga. Jeet Kun Do slowly became Jayson's favorite martial art because of the very flexible and quick movements. Though, Krav Maga would be the most deadly in his arsenal as the martial art is very focused on killing.

Jayson closes his eyes to slip into hyperfocus. He quickly enters the first stage and reopens his eyes. He enters hyperfocus because he wants to push his body to the limits with this punch.

He plans to do these kind of full strength attacks twice everyday after training. Once in his human form in the morning, and one at night in his Daitengu form.

'When I gain a better handling of haki, I'll also use the three types of haki when I do the full strength attacks. I must be able to attack with all my might at will in future!' At this moment, Jayson reminisces watching Luffy and Zoro fight Kaido.

As underdogs, they had to push their limits to even affect Kaido. Especially that scene when Zoro cuts Kaido. These full strength attacks are detrimental to the user but are life savers.

This is why Jayson must find an island with strong beasts. This is so he can train being pushed to the limits at all times. That or fight a lot of very strong people. Though the danger of the second option is high.

Jayson reaches the limit of his first stage of hyperfocus. He can feel all the muscles of his body ready to support his attack.

'[STTTRRRAAAAIIIGGGHTTT!!]' Jayson names this move 'straight' as it is a simple straight punch in Jeet Kun Do.

BANG

The ground underneath him is destroyed by the impact as Jayson kicks of the floor. In an instant he is at the rock. A bird, in its nest, watching Jayson views him blur and a very loud impact is created.

Like a bomb, the entire area becomes covered in shattered rock and ground. The dust slowly clears and Jayson can be seen laying on the floor at the rock's previous position.

In front of him is a large gouge in the earth that goes on for about two meters. The large boulder is gone and all that remains at the end of the gouge is little bits of shattered stone.

'I-i-I can't mo-ve my body' Jayson says to himself. His entire body feels like it's on fire. From every direction, all he feels is pain. In that single move, Jayson not only used all the muscles in his body, he also used up more 95% of his stamina.

'Shit, I fuck-' Jayson passes out from pain and tiredness. The last thing he sees is Kong approaching him with worry in its eyes.
