11 Heart of a Knight

Chapter 10: Heart of a Knight

[Prelude Arc]

🌸

Rinne sighed despite herself. She just couldn't help but just sigh hopelessly because of all the problems suddenly thrown their way. Problems that seem too deep to solve immediately and so time consuming, draining them of all their energy.

A gentle and warm hand snapped her out of her reverie. She looked towards the direction of her most reliable knight, Fuari.

"Are you feeling alright, princess?" he asked with his usual semi-stoic face. Semi, because his face seem cold but his eyes tell a different story.

Rinne just shook her head at him and sighed once more. "Actually, I'm not feeling so well. I really think problems are worse than usual." she replied him. She dared not fake a smile for she very much knew he could see through it. Fuari has this talent of seeming to see through anyone.

Fuari smiled softly at her, understanding what she exactly meant. "It's understandable that you are worried about such things but knowing you, you shouldn't worry too much. It's causing everyone to worry about it, too."

"How so?"

"Well, because you're always the one that cheers everyone on no matter the circumstance." He said and patted the top of her head like a reprimanding parent.

Rinnr smiled genuinely this time. He always knew what to say in times like these.

🌸

Fuari shook his head at his master, princess Rinne. She easily gets worried and yet easily gets back to smiling in a second. She's really gullible and susceptible to feelings and that was why he was extra vigilant around her. She gets manipulated easily but he knew she was not an idiot yet she can be oblivious often times if not informed.

The both of them continued on walking down the wide corridors of the Main Palace. They were recently informed that they had a very important guest that came in today. They still didn't know much of the details but Fuari hoped it was not trouble.

Fuari blinked his eyes multiple times because of who the person standing in front of them were. He was also definitely sure everyone around the room has the same dumbfounded look except, maybe princess Saya. Even her knight seemed surprised at the scene. He knew rumors were floating around but he didn't expect it to be actually true.

"Hello, everyone. You may not remember me but I'm back. The name's Seya Rossa Ariomasha. Saya's twin sister." The girl with the spitting image of princess Saya stood there and curtsied. The only thing that's different about her was the color of her hair which was a fiery red. And aside from that, everything about her looks just like princess Saya.

Fuari snapped out of his blinking spree when a memory of a certain red head crossed his mind. He seemed to remember something about her. She was always with Saya and is somehow a loner of sorts so his suspicions are somewhat clear.

He then opened his special sense. Auriomeá, the sense of seeing people's auras. Since he received his princess' blood, he somehow got the power of seeing other people's auras. Which is somehow helpful considering his princess' situation.

What Fiari saw was a swirling red orange aura. Much lighter than princess Saya's red aura. But he couldn't help but feel like something was wrong with her aura. He thought there was something he missing but couldn't seem to put his finger into it. Something was missing in her aura. It may seem normal looking but to him, it really felt like something was not right.

"Are you alright, mister?" Fuari looked up and shockingly saw princess Seya in front of him. He masked hus emotions inside of him and glanced at her. "Thank you for asking but I'm perfectly alright, your highness." he replied with a small bow of his head, glad that he reacted quickly.

Seya seemed satisfied with his answer and walked away to talk to everyone else.

"Are you alright, Fuari?" he then looked down and saw Rinne's worried eyes gazing at his own. Fuari smiled at her and patted her head. And in an instant, she visibly relaxed and a smile now adorned her beautiful face.

She really is absolutely precious. And I can't let anything happen to her.
