53 Still World

I appear inside the room with the ancient magnetic field after using teleportation.

I must say I'm impressed with myself, having made it so far, that feeling of completing a quest started to surge.

I know I can't celebrate just yet, freeing Reya Kusaka's grandmother is the top priority.

Ddraig blurted, (It is here, I can't believe it is here!)

(What is it old man?)

(Look at the back of the room, that miniature housing.) Ddraig stressed.

From the inside of the room, I see the entirety of the floor covered, almost, with golden runes. I didn't understand the designs but it appeared to be some sort of ancient language.

There are four pillars standing upright with the runes, it gave off an ancient feeling that told you it was around for super long time. They all were parallel to each other, together they made a square-like shape from a birds eye view.

At the back of the room a golden house was there, it was miniature in appearance and was designed like the old buildings of Asia. Especially those pagodas.

In front of it was slab with a person on it. I can only infer that that person is prisoner here as well. Looking at the naked body, naturally I understood it to be a woman. Unlike the other two I found restrained by the ancient pillars, this woman at the back had no restrictions what so ever. The unusual thing was that her body just laid there without moving.

Of the four pillars, two were occupied. At its upper end, I found a woman there as well. It wasn't Reya's grandmother, I already seen her at the other pillar but finding this lady here shows me that she's some sort of threat to the Vatican.

I looked up towards where Reya's grandmother was, she wasn't a scary old lady like I imagined. In fact, she looked fairly young. Her image was that of a mature version of Reya Kuasaka. You could mistake this lady to be Reya's mother, even older sister if you want to push it.

Witches seem to have some tricks to reduce aging, certainly different from the magicians that I'm aware off.

While observing my surroundings, I find that there are no physical restraints that are tying the prisoners here. The ancient magnetic prism is what's holding them in place.

"Alright, lets get this over with," I said, running towards Reya's grandmother.

Ddraig shouted out aloud, "HOLD ON, SESA! THE MAGI-"

I stepped into the vicinity of the scribed runes. Immediately I felt my body being pulled. Just like the black hole spell, Deportation, I was getting sucked in.

A huge wave of demonic power was released from my being. The power embedded in the Necroussary Abyss launched forth at my command. My body became able to resist the drawing of the magnetic field.

(That was a close one, who know what would've happened?) S.Sesa said

"Yeah."

(Yeah, you're lucky,) Ddraig continued, (Like I've said before. This Ancient Magnetic Prism has the power to seal off all abilities that has originated from the user.)

"Okay."

(Don't okay me, you are lucky that your powers are external sources. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to resist the Magnetic Prism. I over heard the God of the bible say that the sacred gear was created to counteract the relics left behind by the Ancients...)

S.Sesa replied to Ddraig, (Alright, we got it, yeah!)

"Yeah!" I repeated. I kind of understand what the Red Dragon Emperor is saying. This prism, created by unknown Gods, can seal off anyone's powers like it did these spellcasters. It can seal of the power of a God, even.

Equipment on the other hand are different from the person wielding it. So if one had to have their powers sealed, they could rely on weapons and such.

"Wait," I said, suddenly thinking about something. "All my powers are external. There's the Mask of Deception and Necroussary Abyss, I'm just an ordinary human."

(Wrong!) Ddraig added, (Ever since you've started using magic, you've long since stopped being ordinary. Now go... collect the treasure. You've already promised Tiamat.)

"What!"

S.Sesa questioned, (Is that Asian house the treasure that Dragon King Tia is looking for?)

(Exactly, at least a part of it. Quickly, Go!) Ddraig immediately stated.

I had more questions, it was causing me to lose focus on the goal. So I had to put it at the back of my mind. I easily resisted the power expanded by the runes thanks to the Satanic coffin. With my devil wings out, I flew as fast as I can.

Arriving at the back of this room, I came closer to the miniature building. Coming here also brought me closer to the naked woman on the slab, she just laid there, merely, her eyelids remained opened. Unfortunately for this person, only the whites of her eyes were visible.

(Looks like she's under a different form of abuse,) said S.Sesa.

(Indeed she is. Now let's take the pagoda piece.) Ddraig insisted.

(Yeah.)

"Yeah."

I lack the time to stand and admire the naked body of a woman. If I was in her position, I wouldn't want to be ogled at by a stranger. Proceeding to the miniature Asian building, at my side, Necroussary Abyss manifests. Willing the blue box to the Dragon's treasure and opening the cover, I realize that the coffin isn't big enough to swallow the golden house whole.

S.Sesa said, (It doesn't fit. Can we teleport it?)

"Lets try this."

I invoke the spell for teleporting. I was thinking of sending this treasure object to my apartment but I changed my mind. Such a valuable treasure might go missing.

The light from the magic circle envelopes the object completely. Another spell circle starts forming inside the Satan arm's, all this is visible to eyes when I peer into the opening in the coffin.

In a flash I've obtained the King Dragon's lost treasure. In the next instant all the shining runes in the room died out.

DOOF!!

Suddenly, I heard something hit the floor. Turning back to look, I could vaguely make out the silhouettes that had fallen. When the source power that was connected to the runes went missing, the ancient magnetic prism also lost it's function. Both prisoners were no longer restrained, they fell on the ground.

I headed back to meet Reya's grandma.

DETECT!

"Huh!"

BANG!

The entrance to the room blew. I picked up my pace, even if I'm not in danger that doesn't mean that Reya's grandmother isn't.

Someone dressed in white walked into the place. Immediately, no hesitation at all, the new comer fired again!

BANG!

This time he aimed straight at the witch.

Damn it! I cringed as I bolted forwards. I summoned a defensive barrier to block the in coming shot.

PENG!

The bullet zipped right through the shield I made. My heart started racing and my sweat ran cold.

"Huu!"

PAK!

The witch grandma leaped to the side, unexpectedly. She managed to get out of the way while the bullet smashed against the pillar.

I countered with an attack of my own. From my raised hand, I invoked the water snake and launched it at the gunman.

Very quickly the gunman reacted. He attempted to jump out of harms way, undoubtedly he was going to get hit but he didn't

BANG!

After jumping, he fired another shot from gun, a shotgun from what I can make out. He didn't fire at anyone in particular. He used the force of the gun fire to propel himself away from my water serpent's attack.

"So sin personified has entered God's house. Now I've seen it all, mate," said the gunman after rolling on the ground. In one smooth move, he was back on his feet.

He cocked his gun again, when he reloaded it, I couldn't see. The gunman fired once more.

BANG!

Previously, when the gunman jumped, the direction he went was towards grandma Kusaka's side. I just got to the front of the room when the gun shot once again, I thought it was directed towards me but I was wrong.

"S-Sav-" Mrs Kusaka tried to speak, her voice was hoarse and weak. I heard her, unbelievably.

"Damn it!"

The bullet flew past me, it was actually aimed at the other prisoner woman. Reya's grandma wanted this person to live, I twisted around before I knew it. Swiftly, I invoked a barrier. Knowing that one won't be enough, I drew out another barrier then another.

Each barrier I summoned was not placed in the same angle although it was placed one behind the other.

PENG!

PENG PENG!

All barriers that just manifested, shattered, however, when the bullet hit each barrier, it's trajectory changed each time.

PAK!!

The bullet missed the woman and smashed into the ancient pillar, pieces of the stand broke off at the point of impact.

The gunman dashed, running towards the center, front of the room. Again I heard him cock his gun. He said, "I won't ask where is it, mate. You better not have sent it far."

BANG!

The shotgun fired once more, aiming back at the Kusaka witch. What was this? I've become something like a monkey now. Still, I couldn't let Reya's grandmother get shot. Turning to face her, I shot my hand forward, readying to manifest another barrier.

"Oi! Had you not taken the item, no one would've known of your presence. Tough luck for you." The gunner stated.

BANG BANG BANG!!

Without warning, the gunman fired three more shots, from the corner of my eyes I made out the second firearm in his hand. An ordinary exorcist gun like my own, the gunner drew it from his hip. Too many things were going on for me to notice it the first time round.

The bullet headed my way, that would be easy to counter but two more bullets left the chamber after. The second bullet seemed to be heading my way, yet, it's trajectory was a bit off. It wasn't aim at me at all. I saw that it was going to pass me and head to the back of the room, it was aimed at the lady on the slab.

Third bullet flew behind me and towards the other female prisoner. This was a disaster, the gunner was good. Too good in fact.

My heart was racing. I still summoned the barriers to protect Mrs Kusaka. Necroussary Abyss that was at the back of the room was recalled. I manifested it again, behind me, willing it to shield the woman at the pillar. The coffin's cover came off and floated to the other bullet, I used the cover to stop the bullet aiming for unconscious woman.

The remaining bullet came at me, I could only accept it. Using my wing to block it.

The shot from the shotgun hit first.

PENG PENG PENG... PAK!!

All three shields broke. Luckily the Kusaka witch managed to role out of the way. I wasn't able to change the trajectory of the on coming fire. It hit the pillar, damaging it.

SHUA!

PUCHI!

PENG!

The bullet headed to the lady at the pillar had been accepted by the world of darkness inside the coffin while the one headed for the naked woman hit the cover of the coffin.

The bullet aimed at me pierced through my wing, quickly I moved my free hand to receive the impact.

PUCHI!!

Another direct hit to me, I can feel the warm blood from my hand begin to pour.

"Oi, not bad at all, unfortunately I can't keep pets to practice on," said the gunner. He cocked his shotgun again.

BANG...

BANG BANG BANG!!!

My eyes widened in despair. This was too fast. There was no way for me to do anything immediately. I haven't even cast healing magic to remove my wound.

I didn't have to look yo see who the shotgun was fired at, instinctively I knew it was me. It would be easy to protect myself but the lives of others were at stake, there's no way for me to protect everyone.

I needed to be faster. I have to react faster than the gunner's dexterity.

TRANSFER!!!

All that accumulated Boosted power ups, I transferred it and this was phenomenal result.

The world around me began slow, everything in front of me started moving in slow motion. I could see the change in despair of Mrs Kusaka's expression. At the corner of my eye, I could see the in coming bullet slowly approaching. In the next instant the world came to a stand still.

It appeared like time came to a stop, although, I was still aware of all around me. Unfortunately, I was stuck in position as well.

What do I do now?
