36 Skirmish in Fortitude

Without a moments notice, a blue magic circle shone at the ear of Kuoh high's Kaichou.

From what I can tell, this is a sound transmission. Someone is sending or communicating a message to her.

Sona Sitri has her eyes closed. I guess she's fully focusing on the transmission at the moment. Both Chaos and I wait patiently. This must be some important information, on the other hand, this girl would take everything seriously.

In a matter of a few more minutes, Sona ends her communication with the one on the other side.

Sona: It seems another incident has taken place, that too in broad daylight. I will have to take my leave now, my queen, Tsubaki has requested my assistance.

"Do you want us to accompany you?" I put for my request to witness the seen personally, indirectly, I want to know what's going on.

I want to know how have things changed in recent days since my arrival. My presence must've impacted this world a lot more than anticipated.

Sona: It is better if you don't come. From what I remember when we first met, you're quite a capable combatant. You have the advantage of using exorcist based weapons, a weakness for us devils. But that is not enough. Please understand.

"Eh!"

Sona: We don't know each other well enough to battle together, if it comes to that that is. Also, you... may not... be able to keep up... with our strength. It is safer this way.

After hearing what this girl had to say, I must say, I'm feeling offended. If I read between the lines then isn't she saying I'm weak. Both my brows dropped in a slant right after that, if it was before Necroussary Abyss she would've been right on point.

I can see Shitori Sauna didn't dare stare me in the eye when she said her piece. Her intention was made clear.

"She doesn't want me around?" I say to myself.

Ddraig: Hold your horses.

S.Sesa: Why? Let me spank her white butt red.

Ddraig: !... Kids these days and their romantic problems! What she says does make sense.

S.Sesa: You think so?

Ddraig: How many people know your actual capabilities? None from what I have seen. So don't let your manly pride get scratched by a word or two and start acting up like someone killed your father.

"Yeah, perhaps I shouldn't take it to heart. I don't think I've ever been told something bad about myself since coming to this world." After hearing the great Ddraig I've realized that prior to this, I've never been motivated to show my worth.

Sona doesn't know that I can be stronger than her when given the opportunity.

Sona: I will take my leave now. See... see your way out.

A chill went down my spine when I heard her cold voice. Then the heiress of the Sitri clan got off her seat. Behind me I could feel a wave of magic gather.

Without looking, I know what it is. Sona cast a teleportation spell. She walks passed me and my familiar. I turn to catch sight of her before she disappears in blue light and when I do, our eyes connect. Just as she vanishes, I pick up the glum look on her face. But there's nothing I can do now.

"Man! Her mood changed so quickly after such a short exchange."

Chaos: I saw that, master, she must've been cycling today.

"Cycling? Like having her period... Wow!"

People do get moody at that time of the month.

I stand up. There is no more reason for me to be here anymore. Exiting the student council room, I lead Chaos on an excursion. The excursion is for myself too, I need to learn the locations of places and the ins and outs of the property.

Chaos and I practically go to every part of the academy we could. We went to the cafeteria, the gym. We found various clubs such as the kendo club, we checked out the track field as well as the pool. At the moment the swimming pool is still a bit disastrous to use.

The last place to check was the Kuoh Academy college. Before heading their we even passed the old school building. This large building was the size of a mansion and was the very place where the Occult Research club was located.

Chaos: What's that? I can pick up the warping of time and the aura of decay. It's as if two beasts are trying to devour the other.

That right, even my 'Detect' picked up a strange phenomenon inside the old school building. At this time the hostility seems faint but consistent.

I'm not sure about the decaying part but the 'time' part could most likely refer to Rias' sealed bishop, Gasper something.

"Let's not concern ourselves with this. How 'bout we check out the college and roam around Kuoh for a bit."

Chaos: Okay. Let's go.

Late night.

Here I am, Souna Shitori, the alias I use when I'm here in the human world.

I had just finished up in my private herbal bath, today was a dreadful day and so many obstacles that require my attention.

Right now, I'm currently relaxing in the sauna. Another private privilege given to me by my parents for my personal well being and enjoyment. If it had been before, I would've not thought anything of my privileges but now that I met 'him' it all changed.

????: Are you thinking about him?

That's right! I'm not alone in the sauna. Accompanying me is Tsubaki Shinra, my queen. Had I not been determined to fulfill my dream of creating a school where all classes of devil can attend I would never have met this young lady before me.

Where would she be if I had not come to Japan?

"You are right, today was the second time I've met him but haven't gotten over the first."

Replying to Tsubaki's question, I glance to her side to see what response she intends to return. Like myself, she is seated. Droplets of perspiration covers her naked body.

She immediately responds. Staring back with her heterochromic eyes. Tsubaki begins to speak.

Tsubaki: Are you interested in him?

"He has potential, not many can pick up my weaknesses nor use it to drive me into a corner." I say, that night he did indeed catch me off guard. Plus that ability to use church weapons...

"He's probably angry with me, it isn't easy for someone to accept being weaker or a low class devil and still, I used it against him. I can't stop thinking about it, it goes against my dreams. My decision, though, I still believe was the best outcome."

Tsubaki: You choice was naturally the best. If he had come, he would've been a burden to us. Having a talent in using exorcist weapons may be useful against us devils, however, he wouldn't have the same advantage when confronting angels and fallen.

"I know."

Tsubaki: Do you want me to smooth things over with him?

"At the end of the month he will come. Let's see how it is at the time."

Tsubaki: It's the first time I'm witnessing you take a boy seriously. Perhaps he's the one meant for you.

"Heh! I don't think so. The girl he brought in today was very beautiful. On the other hand, would my sister leave us be."

My sister, just thinking about her makes me want to rub my temples. Why does she have to be weird?
