19 The Bait

"Phewww, that was so close...." Watson gave a relaxed sigh.

"It was worth though.." Orlando was content to steal two files from Olivia. Usually he stole data and files just by sitting on his computer, as he loved hacking but this was the first time he physically stole files.

"We have just gotten two files.." Romano said in disappointment. He wanted to get everything at Olivia's apartment, he wanted to know everything about her that he missed in the past seven years...

"That alarm!!! We just got two minutes to steal... " Lucas was pissed off. He always got what he wanted, but today was just a bad luck for him and the guys.

"Still two files for two minutes are worth.." Orlando, the ever optimistic replied.

"I'm totally exhausted! And damn pissed..." Deandre said in a slow voice. His voice was ragged with pain, guilt and exhaustion.

"Don't worry we have got the files now, we can start our investigation... I'm sure we will find out about Susan." Orlando comforted his friend.

Deandre merely nodded, his eyes were just lost... mesmerizing Susan's pink lips...

"Which files have we gotten so far...?" Lucas tried to get everyone's attention back to the situation.

Indeed he felt bad for Deandre, but deep down he knew the faster they investigate, the faster they'll come to truth.

"Ahh, The Premier Corporation Contract..." Watson read out loud.

"Give it to me..." Romano snatched the file from his hands.

"Read it aloud...." Deandre murmured.

"This contract is led by Mr. Victor Premier, the chairman of The Premier Corporation.

Mr. Premier and his team hereby wish to appoint Miss Olivia Fanning as their company's executive lawyer, based on her credentials and past experience she is qualified to attend company's legal matters as well as assist Mr.Premier, and other board members in the business matter.

If Miss Olivia's decision is against the business deal, the board members have every right to question her.

She must have good reasoning and get more votes on her side.

If Miss Olivia has any sort of relationship with Premier Corporation rivalry, she must be loyal and truthful to Premier Corporation solely. Her views about the matter should be objective, without any biasness towards the third party.

If at any time Miss Olivia's actions, harms the company in any way, she will be liable for the debts and losses incurred by the company. Apart from that, she will be debarred from her position.

If Miss Olivia accidentally or purposely disclose company's dealings and secrets, the company will file a suit against her and penalize her with a fine of $1million.

If Miss Olivia is not present for the board meetings and business dealings, subject to any reasons, then she will be asked to state her reasons in front of the board committee, no matter if the nature of the reasons are personal.

If Miss Olivia has any political, social or personal contacts with powerful people, she should disclose it to the BOD (board of directors). This is because, the company fears such contact can get them into trouble in near future.

If Miss Olivia doesn't agree to the above terms, and wishes to negotiate the terms, then she will be given an opportunity to do so.

However, if the committee does not agree to her terms, then Miss Olivia can either agree or disagree to the entire contract.

If she disagrees, then the contract should never come in the knowledge of the third party.

If it does, Premier Corporation has every right to take any action against Miss Olivia as they deem it to be appropriate." Romano finished reading.

"That's a load of bullshit if you ask me." Deandre said.

"Damn, do they even know how to make contracts?" Watson rolled his eyes.

"They are unnecessarily threatening Olivia." Lucas said thoughtfully.

"Oh they dare threaten her, I'll crush them all..." Romano gritted his teeth.

"Seriously, if this contract comes in knowledge of third party, they'll take any action against her as they deem it to be appropriate... ? That's very vague and total nonsense. " Orlando read out the last part again.

"Yeah, the threat is so visible.... there isn't even anything (secret mentioned) about the company, for us or any other person to know. It's only a stupid contract..." Watson said shaking his head.

"The one who made this contract is definitely delusional." Lucas said, taking sip of wine.

"Anyone else for red wine..."

"Me"

"Second that.."

"Third that..."

"Give me the entire bottle.. Need it badly.." Deandre lay lazily on the couch.

"Well, Premier Corporation is just mad! I don't understand why they need Olivia for their legal matters and also business deals..." Romano said in frustration.

"Well, we are Premier Corporation's number one rival, aren't we..? Makes me wonder how Olivia gets into this..." Lucas wondered.

"Wait.... Oh no.." Orlando's fear becomes more visible on his face.

"What????" the rest asked.

"They wouldn't know Olivia's connection with Romano and us right? Because if they do...."

"I didn't think about this..." Watson murmured.

"Fuck! No" Romano was completely pissed.

He just met Olivia and now Premier Corporation was behind her...

This was not right... not safe for her...

"They will use her as a bait..." Deandre said in realization.

The room was completely silent now.
