9 The Mission

It has been three days since our arrival in this world, and we still do anything we could to survives this mess.

Even with 10.200 people and the genius, running a dying civilization in a whole new environment without knowing right and left is not an easy task. Thankfully they were once from a modern world and they know the important of civilizations. But because of that, many people were dropping the adventure they wanted and decided to help to rebuild the society and economy, where it was left to us the adventure type of person to explore the unknown world outside. Well, maybe we could be called the new JSDF.

With Kibaou and Diavel handling things, they were pretty much militaristic kind of things and it's not my types, for I am just a normal person so I decided to become what I had dreamed of. An Adventurer.

"You were spacing out, Akira-san!"

*Swoosh*

A fast moving sword stab was coming towards me, but I step aside and swung my katana reversely so I won't give damage to my opponent, my opponent doesn't expect me to sidestep with that kind of timing and shocked with a silly face. The katana that I swung was already in motion and hit him on his back and made him fall flat on the ground.

"Oi, Subaru. What kind of opponent called first before attacking the enemies, we are not in Dragonball!"

After I said that, from the side came a cloud of dust that caught me out of guards as I place my left hand instinctively to guard my eyes, but I could felt the activation of a sword skill so I stab my katana to the direction where the dust comes, and *Clank* the sound of two metal clashed with each other were heard pretty loud on the training field.

As my katana stopped the coming skill, it created some brief moment of surprise as I use my katana as a pivot to land a flying hook kick toward the opponent head. The opponent caught off guard and send flying for 2 meters.

"Hohoho, not that fast Kazuma."

"Damn it, your reaction speed is just to fast Akira-san yo." Subaru came to me while rubbing his back.

"Really? I never thought about it but it seems normal to me."

"Normal my ass, even after get blinded you were still could counter me. That's not about reaction speed anymore!" Kazuma exclaimed while getting up from the ground.

"That's what I called being experienced, stupid," I said as I hit his head with my Katana pommel.

"Ouch!"

I look at both of these two that were helping each other out with a smile on my face, I mean both of them were the protagonist from Re:Zero and Konosuba, but with this interference, I guess they would not have the same fate as in the Anime won't they?.

But now they mention it, where do I get this experience? I reflect upon myself as I saw my reflection on the Katana that I hold.

After training the noobs the basic swordsmanship, we decide to goes back to town with the orange sky on top of our head.

Along the way, we also saw the Hunter team that just came back after hunting frenzy boar and some fish from the lake we secured yesterday. The outskirt of the town now was turned into farms and the player with the people of Aincrad was using it according to Sora instruction.

"Oi Kirito!"

I greet Kirito group that came out of the forest with some deer like an animal, as their loot.

"Akira-san," Kirito said as he bows a little as I approach them.

We exchange information along the way to the town. The loot they brought was called as Kelbi by the system, The creature had a green color, with large, prominent horns. We don't know why the system know this because after we hit Kayaba-san and ask about it, he said that this is already outside his knowledge but for some reason, I felt this name was quite familiar to me.

We arrived at the town, and everyone split up, with Kirito team goes to the butcher to look at their loot being processed, somehow the town seems had this weird atmosphere that makes me felt uncomfortable. I bid farewell to Subaru and Kazuma, I suddenly gain a notification in my inbox and I had a bad feeling about it.

"How the progress with the adventure player?" Kayaba asked me while writing on a paper, in the library beside Sora and Shiro, there were only books and paper as far as my eyes could see. It seems they were in a sort of research I kinda feel bad for them to be stuck inside the library all the time, as the three of them use everything on their brain to ensure our survivability.

I told them my report of the day, that the player is starting to regain their confidence to venture outside of the town and fight some normal monster, their contribution was very helpful to the current situation as what we need the most right now is information.

"That's not the reason you call me here for, right?"

Kayaba looks at the two brothers and sister that dozing off, with a pile of books surrounding them. Then he looks at me as if this is the worst choice he got.

"With today included, we had lost 35 people since the first day..."

The already silent library turned eerie the moment that word was laid out.

"Wait?! What's happening? It doesn't make sense!"

"The thing is..."

After that Kayaba explained to me that the victim was mostly the adventure that seeks trouble for themselves. Even after we announce the danger of outside the town at night, there would still a group of person that thinks differently and dare to go outside, even after being stopped they talk back about we were too scared as it was just a game, and maybe that all of that incident that day were just an event.

"Those bastards." I clenched my fist tightly as I held my anger because they were so stupid to not be able to judge between reality and fiction.

"Akira, you were one of our best guy that had superb experience and judgment when fighting. I wanted your help. Will you help us to hunt down this beast?"

Hearing that, a fire was lit on my eyes as I need to vent this anger somewhere and whatever the thing that made this terror was the best target.

"Gladly!"
