As I am told congratulations, a door opens up on the wall I am facing toward the researchers and my father.

"Come on through the door; I'd like to have a word with you, my son. "

My father says to me as he walks away from the window and out of view.

I move my way out of the large machine and make my way into the hallway that leads back to the elevator, and as the door opens, I see my father.

I walk into the elevator, and he presses a button leading to the executive level, where his and some researchers' offices are.

We go into his office, and I sit down across from him.

"I'm glad you passed the aptitude test, the equipment is relatively new and might have some minor bugs, but I'm glad you were able to pass."

He says to me while sitting back further into his chair, and while he does so, a question comes to mind.

(I wonder how the machine could analyze my physical and psionic aptitude without anyone else performing this test?)

"How come my aptitude score was off of the charts? Did you have someone as a baseline for the test, and if so, who was it?"

(I'm pretty sure who it was, but I'm curious about what he'll to say.)

"We had our strongest task force member that was one of the original five, the strongest and first-ever task force members to be a part of Obsidian. The person was the leader, Asgrin Mundes. The Cerau, the lightning wielder. He had the strongest physical and psionic abilities that we know of so far, and it seems that you have beaten his physical and psionic abilities."

"I see. Are you sure the machine was right? I know that the enhancement collar didn't work properly, but I don't know if that was by my psionic abilities or my physical abilities. It seems too unreal to believe even though I've seen it happen right in front of me."

I say to him; he then sits upright, looks at me, and locks eyes.

"We both know why your psionics and physical abilities are high. It's sad, really, but we cannot tell what happened 10 years ago, even though so many lives have been lost and are still being taken by the Drex to this day. If only my father weren't so passionate in his work and so stubborn to blind his judgment, maybe things could've ended up different. Maybe you could've lived a normal life, but that's all in the past, and I wish I were around more, and it all could've been prevented, or it all happened anyway."

He says to me and then closes his eyes, and he then leans back into his chair.

"Only us two and Nizaki know your ability, and we must not let anyone else know. Please do all of the research that you can on abilities and all types of abilities. The more you know about them, the easier it'll be in the field with teammates along with you. You will need some sleep tonight; you have some work to do tomorrow, you'll be sent a message on what you will do. Goodnight son, I love you."

He says to me; I then stand up and make my way into the elevator and back to my room.

I lay down on my bed and start thinking to myself about what happened on that day.

I start to drift off in my thoughts and eventually go asleep.

I open my eyes and see my grandfather standing in front of me wearing a white lab coat. I then come to my senses and realize where I am.

(I'm dreaming and reliving the beginning of the Calamity.)
