9 9. Stupefying Secrets

Wang Xiu was heavily injured. Her bruises were bleeding. The blood seeped through her clothes and was clearly visible. However, the bullies kept on punching her till she collapsed.

"We have to help her," Mark commanded, but Akio kept on staring at the pandemonium expressionlessly.

"It is not the right time. I think that their fight is personal. See how Wang Xiu is not reacting? It is very unusual of her."Akio replied, with the aura of a true detective.

The delinquents were now done with Wang Xiu. However, they did not leave her there. Instead, three of them picked her up and took her somewhere.

"We have to follow them," Akio said, racing downstairs.

"At least wait for me!"Mark grunted, sprinting right behind him.

Both of them followed the delinquents, but at one point, the group split.

"Let's split!"Akio exclaimed.

"Have you never watched a horror movie? The point where the characters split, they are done for. If you want a result, then we must possibly be together."Mark demanded.

"Oh..right."Akio and Mark followed the group carrying Wang Xiu, discreetly. If they were to be caught, they would probably be sent home as dead bodies. Any noise and the entire gang would be aware of their presence. They sneakily went after them and were lead to an old storage house, no longer used. They hid inside the old building near the storehouse and heard the conversation. There were two people, Gu Ren, and Wang Xiu...

"Why were you even born?!"Gu Ren asked harshly.

"It.. is.. because.. I ..was.. destined.. to.. be.. born."Wang Xiu replied in her cold, calm voice.

"You are not even a part of the family."Gu Ren belted, kicking the chair at which Wang Xiu was sitting. She fell down and injured herself further, but she had no stamina to resent.

Mark was shocked. He always thought that Wang Xiu was Gu Ren's dear sister, but seeing such a fluctuation in their relationship was astonishing.

Gu Ren was now done venting out his frustration. He rushed out from the storehouse, sweating profusely. His face was red with fury. He felt suffocated. He wanted to leave the place before anyone came over. Since the beginning, he had a bad reputation no matter where he went. Be it his kindergarten, middle school, high school or even college, he was referred to as a "trouble maker".

It was due to his restlessness, but it could not be helped. He always wanted the attention of his parents, who trusted Wang Xiu more than him...So much so that the entire Ren family ownership was granted to Wang Xiu. However, the problem does not lie in that. His main problem was that his parents trusted an outsider more than their own bloodline...

Gu Ren reached the Sport's Dept. field and sat down on the grass. He took out his flask which contained vodka and gulped every drop of it, along with the persistent sadness.

Gu Ren could remember nothing but that day. The day on which his life upturned for the worse..

He was in middle school and returned home just like any other day. It was a warm summer afternoon and he wore his favorite cap, which he got as a prize from school. He greeted his mother as usual and showed his cap but, his mother's usual expression was missing. Instead,a sorrow had garnered her face.

"Mom, what's wrong?"He asked, concerned.

"Umm...Its nothing dear.Go, get refreshed and have your lunch. We will talk after that.

He hastily changed his clothes and had his lunch. He then went to his mother and asked,"Now, can you tell me?"Unaware of what was going to befall upon him.

"It's your sister. She passed away this morning"....she began sobbing uncontrollably.

His limbs froze. His face was pale due to fear. His mind was throbbing endlessly. True. He had noticed something was wrong but he never looked into it. He couldn't imagine his sister dying.

He went over to look at her. It had been just one day ago when those white cheeks were rosy-pink, the plump hands that were now stiff. In fact, she seemed like a mannequin, with a bony structure and flawless skin. It was too difficult to digest the fact that those angelic eyes were shut forever, his dear sister, who lay lifeless was going to be parted from him forever.

Who was Gu Ren lamenting for? If his sister died,then who is Wang Xiu?
