37 35.Joyless Journeys Part-1

Four years had passed since that day.Mark was now working for a firm and he recently had got a job transfer in Japan.Regarding Akio,he never informed anyone about himself and Mark decided to embed him deep in his memories.Thereby,forgetting about him completely after a span of four years.

Mark put on his most formal attire and looked at himself in the mirror.

"I have lost quite a large amount of weight."He thought to himself as he ran a hand down his waist,the place he had the greatest amount of fat.All that had disappeared. "They say being an adult truly drains you!"He mumbled.He was living a life he only dreamed once.

"Mark! You'll be late to reach to the airport."Someone exclaimed.It was Gu Ren,along with Li Wei.

"Yeah.I know that."Mark muttered as he picked up his suitcase,exited the house and locked it.He took out the keys and proceeded towards the landlady's house,to return it to her.She opened the door and he greeted her kindly.

"Thank you so much for you help.I am truly grateful to you."He said in a humble tone of voice,handing her the keys.

"Wait for a moment."She said as he went in to the house and came out with mystic knots,a Feng Shui lucky charm. "This will bring you good fortune."

Mark thanked her once again and departed.He sat in Gu Ren's car and they set off to the airport.

"Say,when are you two going to get married?"Mark queried,baffling both of them.

Li Wei's cheeks turned bright pink at the question.Gu Ren,on the other hand was expressionless.They both looked into each other's eyes,trying to think what the other would say.

"Ahem..."Mark signaled them to make it no more obvious.
