1 Relentless Ruler
"Children laughing and civilization having a gentle morning at the town market until the guards of the Crimson Clan appeared with a tall woman figure with golden like hair stood in the middle of the crowd then spoke"I Queen Thara will rule upon Nepus and compel anyone that dares overstep me"; Queen Thara warned the public after she has claimed the thrown.
" From today onward every child above the age of ten of yours will attend to combat battles and fight for their kingdom against the rival nations"; a guard declared openly when the Queen took off in her carriage.
As those words came out, the citizens gasp with their expressions of fear. The lady from the Crimson Clan has a terrible reputation due to the gossips about her cruelty towards those people below her and anyone that stands in her way will suffer all because she relies on her father the head of the Crimson Clan.
Mara a villager from a small village, trembled with panic as she listened to those phrases. Mara realizes that those who wore the crown will not attend to the nation but sees them as servants. She hurries back to her village and informed her husband about what she heard during the civil announcement and the expressions the current Queen uttered.
" Listen, my love, we must protect Sienna"; Mara told Kalos while holding Sienna around her arms. "I know a place where we can keep her safe"; Kalos spoke to Mara softly while caressing her face gently. The couple bought what they possess and began their journey to the Valley.
"The Valley" a place at Xirace, tale has it that the nation is full of blossoms and beasts with varied kinds of the sort but, no one from Nepus nation can enter due to the rivalry of those two nations. Nepus is recognized for the extraordinary strength of its soldiers when it comes to battles especially now that the one that laws is now a relentless lady from the Crimson Clan since the former queen wasn't able to produce a male heir.
Kalos freed the animals from their barn and took a sack of looks like wheat. "Is the valley that far?"; Mara questioned
"Yes, it is"; Kalos replied with an unwilling smile "but, for the safety of our baby ill do anything for her"; Kalos added while plopping the sack on his shoulder.
They then started striding while Mara peeked at an old map Kalos owns. "There seems to be a bridge here that there aren't guards guarding it"; Kalos informed Mara while pointing on a little bridge on the map.
In a short hike, they reached the bridge but, it was unsteady, crooked, and aged.
Mara holds the baby tightly and started to cross the bridge. The wind was strong and the water gushed strongly while Mara was crossing the bridge.
When she reached the end, she witnesses Kalos hesitating to cross the bridge. Kalos kneeled and unwrapped the sack and reached for what was inside it.
"I'm sorry for what I am about to do Mara"; Kalos uttered.
Kalos took out a knife and started cutting the bridge's ropes." I don't understand my love why are you doing this?"; Mara asked with tears rolling down her soft cheeks looking directly at Kalos' eyes.
"I knew the baby wasn't mine for a long time, How can you betray me like this, Mara?!"; Kalos cried out with anger. Mara didn't respond and just gazed blankly.
Kalos then slash the final rope and perished back into the forest. Mara turned her back from the sunken bridge then commenced heading toward the north. With minimal food and water supply, she proceeded her journey to the nearest nation "Finan".
