52 There’s No Cow on The Ice

The film went smoothly yet again and after a few more hours, the video had finally ended. As there were only few changes needed to be done, the remaking took a shorter time than the actual creation of it from the start.

They had finished everything throughout the night and it was already early morning. They had taken turns to sleep for a few minutes then continued filming. They wanted to be right on schedule for the release date of the video as everything was already settled.

Changing these details would be too much of a hassle and would cause them quite a lot in time and effort. Though Hue and Wisteria assured them that they would shoulder the expenses as being friends for quite a few years now, they were reluctant to ask them of such. Thus they decided to push themselves to the limit.

The only thing left was filming Chad's part the day after and the editing which will be done on a later date.

Everyone started finishing up and arranged their equipment. Reen greeted and thanked the crew.

"Let's go home then Wisteria, Reen." Hue said

Reen was reluctant to leave; she wanted to let the crew leave first and make sure everything is alright as she still felt guilty for the sudden remake despite Hue and the other crew member's reassurance. They said that there's no cow on the ice [1] so she should just forget about it but she still thought otherwise.

"Why don't we leave once everyone has left?" Wisteria said understandingly

Wisteria looked at Hue, Hue who seemed to take the hint silently nodded in agreement. Reen signed with relief.

"Will be waiting at the car alright? If you need us just yell and will run straight here." Wisteria said, she took both her daughter's hand and squeezed it tightly.

Reen squeezed it reassuringly and nodded. Hue, Wisteria as well as some of staff started going down the hill with the equipment.

When she was sure that everything's alright and couldn't hear anymore footsteps or see anyone left, she turned around and stared at the moon high above her that is slowly shifting into daylight. The sky was much clearer this time, the moon illuminated its borrowed light, the stars shined brighter as no clouds hindered the sky, fireflies started popping out further giving the meadow a fairy tale impression.

Momentarily mesmerized by the site which was similar yet different from the meadow she loves she kneeled down at the soft grass and sat down.

She kept staring at the night sky that slowly changed into sunrise. They had pulled an all-nighter to finish the filming on time.

After a few more minutes, she slowly went down the hill.

Everyone had left except for her parents. When she saw Hue and Wisteria, she smiled shyly at them. Remembering her delay even just for a few minutes, she tended to be distracted by so many little things these past few days. She sighed to herself.

They welcomed her with a smile of their own, Wisteria held her hand while leading her inside the car as though she was something so fragile that could break any moment. They headed home.
