107 Their Guilt

Hue and Wisteria contacted each other as they made their way towards the smoke.

"Wiz, I'll go and see what's happening. You go and take care of the men who were left behind." He said through the earpiece.

Hue knew as Wisteria had more experience and skillful in this aspect than him. Though reluctant to endanger his wife's safety it was more practical for her to go than him.

"Ok, be careful" she replied knowing Hue's intention.

Upon Hue's arrival he saw the house burning while several spectators where looking worriedly and some in interest at the burning house.

The fire brigade were trying their best to put out the fire, the police trying to control the crowd while the paramedics and some firefighters talking and waiting for the fire to at least dwindle a little and will hurriedly rushed to rescue the people inside.

"No, If I wait any longer they will surely die by then" Not minding his own safety, he rushed to one of the police and ordinary residence who were helping to put out the fire by pouring buckets full of water at the house.

He took one of the buckets held by a police and poured it on himself as he rushed towards the house.

"Hey! Stop! What you are doing!"

Hue ignored the shout by the police who he stole the water from and continued running. Because of his spontaneous action the police and other people blank out for a moment and the police only reacted when he threw the bucket down on the ground with its loud thud

Not minding the burning sensation he kicked the door and there he saw Reen clutching some kind of elongated things looking at him in hope then fainted.

The paramedics and firefighters then had rushed then to save the girl along with the brave man.

The rest after that was history [1]. Wisteria who had missed the men who were previously left behind returned. She then saw Reen with the bloody severed arms on her hands she then had tears in her eyes as she hurriedly hugged the young girl.

"I was…I was…" Reen mumbled

"Shhh… you don't have to say anything… you're alright, were alright… every things going to be alright. It's alright… you don't have to scared… you're not alone… it's going to be alright….."

Wisteria's tear filled face hugged Reen tightly as she consoled the pitiful girl, Hue with a pained face a bit held her shoulder to comfort her as well. Reen stared at her charcoaled and ash house.

It was then Hue and Wisteria for the first time in their life regretted a lot of things dearly.

They bemoaned checking the surrounding first before escorting Reen personally inside.

They were filled with remorse finding out the cause of all this was in the hands of their men.

They were filled with regret that they were only able to save Reen and her alone.

This was then were their guilt for failing their best friend and her children all began.
