37 The Last Dance

This is a story a few years back on the day the group of Uoron, Veo, Bill and Cookie's graduation day.

It was the 14th day of February and the Crescent Moon University also known as the CMU held their yearly Junior and Senior prom. Cookie was sitting beside her 4-year long crush Uoron, Cookie talking and giggling animatedly when the DJ's announcement distracted them.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the next song would commence the last song of this evening."

"Cookie, this is your chance. You've waited and prepared for this day. It's now or never, Think positive! You can do this!" Cookie thought

When the opportunity rose, she asked Uoron to dance which he hesitantly agreed. While they were walking towards the dance floor the last song started.

Though you don't feel it and see

You are my first friend

My first special guy friend ♪

They dance quietly; Cookie didn't know what to say; she was suddenly embarrassed. She was going to confessed to the guy she liked for 4 whole years; she blushed bright red at the thought and looked at her feet. Uoron noticing this teased her.

"What's this? Don't tell me you've finally fallen for me?" Uoron with his sunny and boyish personality who was still not exposed to the dreadful reality of life jokingly said.

Cookie lifted her head slightly, she couldn't help but smile by the irony as the song continued to play it's heartfelt melody.

♪Even if you forgot about me someday

I'll still remember what happened that day

'Cause, you're special to me

Though you don't feel it and see ♪

"This is it, it's now or never." She thought. She inhaled deeply

"I have something to tell you." The seriousness of her voice was evident.

"What is it?" he was as serious as she was vaguely knowing what she was about to say.

She inhaled deeply again as the song continued to play.

♪ The day you became special to me

Which became a bittersweet memory

Now I know the things I didn't know before

Which I am very grateful for♪

"I like you!"

She was directly looking in his eyes so did he. He got startled a bit by her forwardness but then his feelings suddenly turned to sadness and concern.

Cookie saw these emotions clearly in his eyes, she couldn't help but evade his gaze, and so she looked away biting her lower lip trying to fight her tears back.

"Why do I want to cry? Why does it hurt so much I already knew he had no feeling for me… I already knew this, so why…"

Cookie looked at him again wearing the happiest smile she could muster.

"I know you don't feel the same way. But I just wanted you to know. And it isn't like I was expecting anything." She said trying to brush off the seriousness of the situation

They were looking at each other's eyes, Cookie fighting the urge to cry.

"Cookie" Uoron whispered

"Hmmm?"

"Thank you..."
