108 Mirly’s Guilt

After a few moments Mirly had finally arrive. When everything was settled on their end, Hue had accompanied Mirly to send her home.

They then arrived at her house after a few blocks, but before she could go inside her house she turned around kneeled in one leg and said,

"This subordinate had failed to protect the mistress, please punished me sir!" Mirly was not merely Reen's childhood friend but was also one of Hue and Wisteria's junior comrade.

She was actually an orphan which they picked up as a child, despite being only a year older than Reen at 7 years old then Mirly experiencing the harshness of the world was level headed and much more mature than her fellow peers. She also survived the harsh training in the organization making her stronger and smarter than ever.

In one of her missions, she had coincidentally been found out by her grandparents. Seeing the genuine love and care they had for her despite her gratefulness to the organization by taking her in and training her she had asked to leave them temporarily.

She wanted to stay with her grandparents just until her grandparents pass their ripe old age [1].

Hue and Wisteria who was the people who actually picked her up gave her, her permanent freedom and just not a temporary leave. Mirly was not expecting this cried with joy and gratefulness but insisted on being "temporarily on leave" only as she truly did not want to leave them and the organization she grew in.

Despite the bloody and scheming place her time there was also filled with happiness and joy with her comrades and benefactors which made her reluctant to part with it.

Seeing the stubbornness of the girl, the couple agreed for her temporary leave instead. As not to raise any injustice and the bias treatment they have for the girl they actually assigned her instead to a pseudo mission. It was to guard Reen and her family when they were not around which she happily accepted.

Even with this mission she actually lived a comfortable and joyful life which she hadn't experience at all. She too eventually treated Reen not just a person she had to safe guard but eventually into a genuine friend.

And yet here she was failing her mission miserably, recalling her friend's tragic ending and her heart broken face she could not help but be filled with guilt and pain. She bit her lip controlling her emotions as she remained kneeled down in front of Hue.

Hue and Wisteria did not really put any serious thought on her mission as it was only an excuse for Mirly's freedom. They never intended for her to really protect them but just for her to enjoy the youth that she had greatly miss.

"Ok, let's not talk about it for now as we should deal with Reen's situation first." He said dismissively.
