39 Knight and Shining Armor

Cookie could only lightly hear this but she could not help but laugh at the coincident yet familiar song.

♪ I didn't expect it and expected it at the same time

That's what I repeatedly told my heart and mind

However it seems I expected more than I claim

Now heartaches I have gained

I knew knowing would only hurt me more

But that didn't stop me now or before

I still expected despite trying not to

Expecting is just what I repeatedly do ♪

The song continued as Cookie tried to recall the song while feeling how the song sums up her feelings now.

♪ I tell myself not to expect anything

But still I constantly repeat the same thing

I can't help but expect again and again

That led to disappoint and heart ache in the end♪

Finally remembering the lyrics of this song, Cookie sang along with it.

♪ I pretended not to expect anything that much

But it still hurt me so much

When it didn't come true

It left me feeling blue♪

Tears then fell yet from her eyes as she sat at a cottage seat hugging her knees.

Ring…..Ring…..Ring…..Ring….Ring…

It was Veo who called her.

Uoron knowing Veo's feeling after leaving Cookie behind called Veo and explained what happened. When her friends were hugging her, Veo had left a few minutes earlier in search of her and not finding her returned back to her friends where Cookie coincidently left already.

Veo immediately called Cookie who was only a few meters away from the venue. From there the rest was history.

At first it would seem like she was using him to forget Uoron but eventually Cookie had completely fallen to Veo's charm though she still had feelings for Uoron it was not the same way as before.

Sometimes, Cookie would pretend to be still love struck just to tease Veo and seeing his jealous appearance would make her feel highly grateful for meeting and experiencing her knight and shining armor moment who saves the damsel in distress episode then.

On the other hand, she actually found out that the song she heard and only remembered the lyrics was entitled "Expectations". Whenever she heard this song she would always giggle remembering the coincidence, her actions and feelings then. The pain felt then had greatly diminished which made her glad.

She kept this coincident song a secret from Veo so whenever this song comes either through the radio, malls and the like she would giggle. Veo did try asking her why she does such things each time but Cookie kept her mouth shut so Veo didn't ask after asking her more than a dozen times keeping his own curiosity to himself.
