97 Elena

Elena who was devastated yet still loves the man ignored his gambling addiction and womanizing bearing yet again another child for the man. Her tolerance and his neglect had caused the gap between the two to widen as the years gone by.

Seth on the other hand had gotten worst; he would even leave for a month and stay with his mistress Lilith while Reen dealt with her children's welfare and of her own.

The man's relatives where torn into two factions, one did not know what was happening while the other pretended not to know anything.

Elena actually did not tell Hue and Wisteria all these things as she knew they will be highly angry at her and Seth. In reality, Seth's relatives didn't actually like her at all as she came from a poor family.

Her dad was killed during a scuffle in their village afterwards her mom had remarried and had another 4 kids with her step dad. As Elena came from the previous marriage her dad didn't really liked her and would constantly spank or scold her regardless if it was her fault or her siblings fault.

Her dad would behave like a good loving father when her mom was their but whenever she wasn't regardless of how minor an argument was she would get the short end of the stick [1]

As Elena had a meek personality she wouldn't tell her mom the sufferings she underwent until one day her mom found out about it and had a fight with her step dad. After that her dad had been easier to get along with as the beating and scolding lessened, luckily she had good relationship with her siblings even if she had a sour relationship with her step dad.

After she grew up she left their home and tried her luck in this City, she rarely went home and only for a few days a month would she call her mom. Her mom understanding her decision did not pressure or scold her about it as she knew she was at fault too.

Elena despite her mom caring about her welfare, at the end of the day chose her new family. Elena didn't hold it against her as at the end of the day she was still her mom.

Because of this strained relationship when Elena died, her family only visited her on her funeral procession day. Despite the heartbreak of her mom and siblings, with the insistence of her step dad they then left the night after the procession.

Knowing she lived in this kind of background Seth still accepted her full heartedly yet his family was not swayed by their love resulting to the current strained in laws relationship.

But as she loved Seth deeply she tolerated their obvious contempt and them constantly looking down on her. Despite her beauty and brilliant brains just because of her background they had deemed her unfit of their son/brother.

Though, their attitudes improved when she gave birth to her son especially her father in law.

Wisteria and Hue actually noticed the tiredness and haggardness of Elena's appearance but she repeatedly assured them everything was alright so they respected her endurance and let the matter go.

Also, to hide these facts whenever they visited the children Elena would always meet up somewhere else so they couldn't really find out was happening at all at home with the chatterbox maids and servants.
