91 Connections

"Oh, you old bones! Of course we have our own reasons for doing so." Wisteria consoled the old man which made him somewhat calmer but made Hue's face darken a bit by this flirting gesture in his eyes that the two is supposedly doing.

Smith patted Hue's shoulder then shook his head seeing Hue's obvious jealousy gaining a glare from him as well.

After a few more minutes of casual talked, they bid their goodbyes as Hue hurriedly pulled Wisteria away from the man. Smith nodded to the judged as he silently left while following behind the couple. The judged waving at them as they left.

Actually, it the results only became that way because before the Seth and Lilith or their attorney could get any solid evidence it was already deleted.

Robert despite his friendship with Wisteria was a fair and just judged. He never sided with anyone who was wrong as long as evidences and proper protocol was being presented and followed.

So they were not afraid that even if Seth and Lilith saw them being chummy with him and destroy his reputation with false accusations as all the people who had dealings and was "judged" by him knew of his clean and strong justice.

But in this case, even if Robert had an inkling that Hue and Wisteria started the fight but as no evidences were forwarded he did not say anything about it.

He knew with all his connections and years of experience the underhanded means Lilith and Seth were doing but as these thoughts have no evidence to make them go to court he could only lament to himself.

Using their connections, when Hue had talked with the hospital director which was also one of his colleagues, he asked that the footage of them punching Seth and Lilith first be deleted which he agreed.

They had been friends since childhood and had often helped each other in times like this so it was not something unusual.

After talking to him, he then proceeded to talk to Smith for any other legal loopholes the other party may use to frame or condemn them.

For the nurse and security guards, they didn't bother with them as mentioned previously they didn't really witness who did the punching first so there was no need to "talk" to them at all.

Luckily their attorney was still too green [1] so they didn't encounter any difficulties in the end.

When they finally left the premises of the justice court, they went to a nearby restaurant. They then booked a private room.

"Thank you for your assistance Smith!" Hue said gratefully

"No need for thanks whatsoever, for such a simple case I can get a huge amount of money so why would I bother declining such a juicy piece of meat." He said humorously

"You're actually getting cheekier each time I see you!" Hue said in good humor as Smith merely chuckled

Smith was actually doing this free of charge; Hue had helped him quite a lot when he was just starting his path in law school which he was forever grateful.

Hue declined his thank you and gesture of taking any case from him for free and jokingly said that if one day he does become a renowned prosecutor he not forget him which Smith actually held the unspoken promise by heart. Ever since then, they became one of the closest friends.

Despite his repetitive of declining his payment, Hue would still give him money or something of equal value to compensate for his help which they usually get into a fight frequently about. Good thing, Wisteria and Daisy which was Smith's wife and also Wisteria's close friend handled the matter perfectly.

By accepting their gracious offer whole heatedly of course as she knew Hue and Wisteria would not take no for an answer. Smith begrudgingly relented to his wife's persuasion.

But this did not stop him from trying to decline his gifts to the extent that one trial they did a few months ago, just right after the case finished he immediately left never giving Hue a chance to even thank him.
