Synopsis

Silas Sungjae Ahn thought university life would be a fresh start, a chance to explore a new city, meet new people, and maybe cook a few meals for his roommates. But his first semester at the University of Sydney becomes anything but ordinary. Born into a powerful werewolf pack and recently ousted for standing up to his alpha, Silas must now navigate college life as a lone wolf with a past that won't let him go. Things get more complicated when his best friend Jiwon, newly turned and unclaimed by any pack, unexpectedly becomes his roommate. When Jiwon joins Silas’s new, unofficial “pack” alongside his sister and childhood friend, Silas suddenly finds himself in a role he never wanted: alpha. As the small pack tries to stay under the radar and adapt to their shifting identities, Silas is haunted by a mysterious force; a sensation that overwhelms his senses, drives his wolf wild, and seems tied to the elusive and emotionally distant Minseok, their aloof roommate with secrets of his own. What begins as a story of friendship and self-discovery quickly unravels into something darker, more intimate, and dangerously powerful. With tensions rising in their apartment, desires surfacing, and unknown supernatural presences drawing near, Silas must confront the truth about what binds wolves together–and what threatens to tear them apart. Because the moon may control the tide of their transformations, but it’s the heart that determines who they become. (AN: yes, this was indeed a Fanfic at first, I can't change that setting anymore. If ur interested in the Fanfic version, it's on a certain orange colored reading app under the same title as it's here)

Chapter 1Chapter one

It was twenty-to-five in the evening. Silas was on the bus on his way to the university. This being his first year, he was very much looking forward to the first day of school. He even felt a bit nervous. And if his senses were to be believed, so was everyone else on the bus. Some more than others.

The bus was fully packed, so 30 people plus the bus driver, although he could only feel 26 heartbeats. He couldn't hear his own pulse, but he should still be able to catch 30 other heartbeats (the bus driver included).

That meant there were four people on this bus whose heartbeats he couldn't hear, which was a first for the 19-year-old. This caused him to sink deep into his thoughts.

He did not realize that the bus had arrived. When the heartbeats receded, he looked up. He quickly followed the other students.

The campus was beautiful. Even though he had walked here before and had googled it time and time again, The University Of Sydney still managed to surprise him again and again. With its Hogwarts-like appearance, he dared to say that the campus possessed something magical.

He stumbled into his apartment around 5 p.m. When he takes off his shoes and coat, he notices another pair of shoes. Those must be from one of his roommates. He shared the apartment with two others.

He just thought of fixing a sleeping the day before yesterday. Thank god he could find a student who wanted to share his apartment, and the costs, with two others. He walked into the room he thought was the living room.

Silas reached out his hand and smilingly began ''Hi! My name's Silas and you a-"

''Minseok."

"Nice to meet you, Mins-" His word was cut, again.

"Mhm, aren't you going to unpack your stuff?" said the other very monotonously, while he was...checking the curtains, "Just so you know, I prefer to work in an orderly space."

Silas put his hand down. What a lovely roommate. "Of course."

Silas raised his eyebrows and walked back into the hallway, where he left his suitcase. Just then did it occur to him that he didn't even know where he would be sleeping. Instead of asking his roommate, he preferred to find out for himself.

What was meant to be a small search for his bedroom ended in a viewing of the entire apartment. Only then did he find out that he hardly knew anything about the apartment in which he would be spending the next year.

It was a fairly large apartment. He had already seen the living room. There was also an almost empty room with music boxes, probably for dance practice since dancing was a part of the main subjects of the three. To Silas's delight a huge kitchen. He had developed a passion for cooking, especially sweets. Then there was a bathroom with two sinks, a bathtub, and a toilet. Last but not least is the bedroom, one for the three of them.

But this one was huge. One wall was taken up by three twin beds plus a nightstand for each, another was completely taken up by a closet, and the third had windows under which stood a desk of at least two meters.

After spending more than an hour unpacking his luggage, Silas was finally ready. The blonde was starting to get hungry. It was already seven p.m. He decided to go see if any groceries had been done, maybe he could cook for his roommates on the first day. On the way to the kitchen, Silas noticed that Minseok's shoes and coat were no longer where they were a good hour and a half ago. He probably had the sound on his headphones way too loud since he hadn't heard the closing of the door.

Assuming, therefore, that his roommate would not be home for dinner, Silas also had no reason to cook anymore. He decided to order fried chicken. According to Menulog, his meal would be there in thirty minutes. Silas decided to take a quick shower before his dinner arrived.

Fifteen minutes later Silas stood in front of the mirror drying his half-long blond hair in a towel. When he found it dry enough, he decided to do his daily skincare since he still had plenty of time.

He had already removed his lenses for the shower. Since they were not waterproof he didn't want to take any chances. He didn't wear his lenses because he had bad eyes, they were colour lenses. Brown colour lenses to be exact. To cover his natural eye colour. Red. They weren't always red of course, sometimes they were just brown like his lenses. But just in case they did turn red through the day, he almost always wore lenses. His eyes had not always been red-or brown, of course, he could remember the time when they were yellow-or-brown good enough.

He began to wash his face with soap. Although Silas was obviously different from many of his peers, they had one thing in common, wanting to look good. After washing off the soap, he started applying the cream. As always, the cream made his freckles less visible. While he let the cream soak in, he immediately got dressed.

He chose short dark blue fabric pants and a grey sweater. Of course also underwear and a pair of socks. Then he walked back to the bathroom. But he had hardly left the bedroom or he heard a bang at the front door.

Entertainment: Starting as a Succubus, Taking Hollywood by Storm

Martin was a succubus who perished at the hands of the Sun God, struck down by a single divine arrow during the epic war between gods and demons. Meanwhile, Martin, a Ph.D. in literature and a seasoned movie enthusiast, lost his life in a car accident in August 2023. By some cosmic twist of fate, the souls of the two Martins converged within the chaotic currents of time and space, merging and eventually settling in the body of an eleven-year-old boy named Martin Myers, living in Los Angeles in 1996. A world without spiritual energy? Fortunately, as a succubus, I don’t need spiritual energy to cultivate; all I need is the essence of desire. Emotions—joy, anger, sorrow, and excitement—are all desires. As long as these emotions are directed at me, they can become fuel for my growth. Alright, let’s see what reliable ways exist in this world to stir people’s emotions en masse. Hmm, becoming a writer—sounds promising; and music, that could work too; but wow, Hollywood movies! They have a global reach; this is perfect! What’s that term again? Right—"Idea Recycler.” I’ll start with writing, but the ultimate goal is to become an international movie star. Acting skills, you say? Don’t worry—I’m a succubus, after all! Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to this novel. During the offseason of the 2011~2012 season, the Lakers failed to compete for three consecutive championships. Jackson retired. The team's lineup was aging and its strength declined significantly. General Manager Kupchak actively sought trades and reached an agreement with the Hornets to replace Paul Garner. Sol was traded for Chris Paul, the league's No. 1 point guard. Shock the world. The whole world feels sorry for the Lakers! Jiang Feng traveled to a parallel world and became a second-round point guard selected by the Lakers. He acquired the skills of Kuroko's disappearing pass in the "Kurizi Basketball" comic, and his performance exploded. Fans all over the world are at a loss. With this point guard, is it necessary to trade Paul? Paul: "I thought it was a regret for both parties that I couldn't go to the Lakers. I didn't expect that the Lakers didn't need me at all! It turns out that the clown is myself!" Kobe: "I thought Jiang Feng was assisting me, but I didn't expect that he was here to usurp the throne!" Jiang Feng: "No more pretending! I'm showing off my cards! I'm a better point guard than Paul!" Other team owners: "I tried my best to prevent Paul from going to the Lakers. I didn't expect that the Lakers would cultivate a point guard god! I really cried to death!"
