1 [CHAPTER 1]

Daniel's pov:

It's Monday.

My dad walked in my room to wake me up because I, apparently, 'always wake up late' even know I wake up an hour before schools starts and it's only 10 minutes walk there. My dad being my dad, woke me up by spilling 3 glasses of freezing water on my face.

Let's just say that my dragon spirit, Aiden, was not happy with that, but my dad was sure having fun.

My parents are divorced. It's not a big deal really. They are happier now. They are both mateless so it wasn't a big deal.

I stayed with my dad after divorce because my mom has a lot of work and could not take proper care of me.

We moved here in Brighton just two days ago and my dad still does not want me to know why. We lived in London before this and I was happy there. I had my friends and I was a straight A student.

When I asked my dad why we moved he just said:

'I have my reasons, Daniel. I also thought that you could finally start going in high school for creatures like us. Mythology High is the best high school for you...'

Blah, blah, blah

So what, I am a mystical creature. To be more specific, I am a half-dragon like my parents, but that does not mean that I need to go to some special school. Don't get me wrong I love being half-dragon and I love mythology and mystical creatures. I was always fascinated by us (creatures).

It's so interesting knowing what powers do we have and what we can do with them. I am just mad that my dad doesn't want to tell me what's going on.

In other hand, I am very excited to go to Mythology High. I will see so many creatures and bonus point is that I can see my best friends. Mark and Ivy.

Mark is chimera. I known him since we were 6.

He had a rough childhood. His parents were very abusive, but he got adopted when he was 8 by a really nice lady Caroline Allen. And Ivy is my best friend from social media. She is griffin and has twin brothers who are to energetic for my taste.

We met when I was struggling with my sexuality. She was the one who helped me see that that is not a big deal. She is pansexual and I am bisexual (pan and bi are not the same thing!!!) so she kind of understood my situation. Even know we will find our soulmates/mates after 18th birthday and it will not matter then, but its still nice to kind of know what gender would your mate probably be.

Well that doesn't matter to us obviously.

Ivy will be 19 in this month and she still didn't find her mate. I still need to wait 3 months till my birthday though .

Now I was in front of my closet, after drying myself, trying to figure out what to wear. I am not picky with clothes. I really don't care what I wear, but for my first day in new school I wanted to make a good first impression. I finally decided on dark blue jeans and gray t-shirt. I took my bag and run out of the house.

School is just two streets away from my house, so I decided to walk.

Let me just say that that school is ginormous.

I called Mark to come meet me in front of it because I was 100% sure I would get lost in that castle.

That school literally looks like mini Hogwarts.

I waited for a few minutes until I saw my two best friends running towards me with their hands open for a hug.

Sure enough, the second later I was on the floor with two screaming teenagers on me. OK it was mostly Ivy screaming.

She was a little bit mad because I told Mark that I was coming and not her. I just kind of forgot, but she forgave me quickly.

We stood up and only then did I notice a boy standing next to us uncomfortably.

His hair is pitch black. Shorter on the sides. He was not masculine, but he also wasn't skinny.

I am taller then him maybe 4 or 5 inches. I still didn't see his face because he was looking at his feet with his hood on.

Ivy quickly noticed boys discomfort and introduce him.

"So, Daniel, this is my best friend Nolan White. He is younger then us, but is like super smart, so he will probably have some classes with you. And Nolan this is a friend I was telling you about. Daniel Smith." Ivy said in overly enthusiastic voice.

Nolan still didn't look up, but I think I heard him mumble something that sounded like 'Nice to meet you.'

I was just going to say something, but Ivy was quicker.

"Nolan is a little bit on a shy side and doesn't talk to unknown people, but when he starts talking he can not shut up if his life depends on it."

"Hey! That's not true!" Nolan shouted.

"Oh please, you know it is. Mark can confirm that. Right, Mark?" she gave Mark a 'Don't even a think about disobeying me' look, which is pretty scary.

So of course Mark confirmed.

I asked Mark if he could show me where to get my scheduler. He quickly agreed and practically run away from Ivy, while I ran after him.

We walked in the mini Hogwarts and it's just so beautiful.

I got my schedule in headmasters' office, which is probably bigger then my living room.

After that we found Ivy and Nolan in front of the office waiting for us. We talked for a little bit and they tried to explain to me where is canteen, but I can proudly say that I am now more confuse then before.

Minute after Ivy went on the other side of mini Hogwarts where are collage classes.

I had most of my classes with Mark and Nolan and I was pretty happy about that.

But that happiness was immediately gone when a girl ,what's her name Tiffany?, started to flirt with me. She is pretty with her dark brown hair and green eyes, but she was touching me in places I rather keep to myself. She was also in company with three more girls who were just standing behind her looking slightly uncomfortable.

Their perfumes are so strong that it's making me dizzy.

Lucky, Mark got me out of that hell before I pass out.

To be honest I think some girls were a little afraid of him, but you could see most of them were attracted to Mark.

Mark is a handsome guy. He is 6.1ft and muscular, not as much as me, but he sure is strong. He is a ginger with freckles all over him. He has hazel eyes and under his right eyes is a big scar that goes from his eye to the corner of his mouth and then from mouth across his right cheek.

It actually looks like some monster got to dig its' fingers and tried to do geometry on his face.

So that's probably why some girls are scared.

He mumbled something under his breath that I sure will not repeat.

We talked about what all happened after he moved when he was 8, even know we texted every day from when we were 12, while going to our first class.

Math... Aghh

I am now with Mark in the canteen trying to find Nolan.

Mark found Nolan and Ivy immediately. They were siting and talking alone at table far in the back of canteen.

That confused me a little bit because Ivy has her lunch in the other end of the building.

"Mark doesn't Ivy has her lunch on the other end of the building?" I voiced my thought.

"Yeah, but after she became friends with Nolan she sneaks out in lunchtime to eat with him." I just nod in understanding.

We sat down and out of nowhere my dragon, Aiden, decided to have a little talk with me.

'Daniel, I want to have control. Now.' He said in demanding voice which surprised me. He was usually really calm.

'And why would you want that now for God's sake?'

I asked him in my mind.

'Do I need reason, Daniel?'

'Yes, Aiden you need a reason. You can't just do whatever you want in my new school on my first day and in front of my friends.'

'You didn't let me out in 3 days and if you don't give me control now I will fucking fight for it and you will embarrass yourself even more.'

'Fine, fine. God, what's up with people not telling me anything today. Just let me tell them that you will now be at control for a bit, ok?'

'Yeah, yeah whatever.'

Ok, let me tell you about the dragon thing. I am half dragon which means that I have a spirit of a dragon in me. Like my other half.

Sometimes he can be a little restless if I didn't let him out for a long time.

Like today.

Great!

I shook my head and lift my head to look at my friends.

Ivy and Mark looked at me with concern and Nolan just didn't seem to care that much.

"Are you ok, Dan?" asked Ivy with serious look on her face.

"Yeah, don't worry, I just talked to Aiden. I didn't let him out in few days, so just to let you know he will have control for a little bit now."

"Aiden? Is that your dragon's name?" Nolan asked curiously, surprising me with the fact that he was actually listening.

"Yes. It's pretty normal name for a dragon spirit if you ask me, but he just loves it sooooo much." I told him jokingly. In that moment I let Aiden take control.

'Oh, Hi there.' said Aiden in smooth voice like he wants to irritate everyone in the room.

"Hey, Aiden. Charmer as always I see" Mark said grinning.

'Of course, it's nice you still remember my awesomeness. How are your spirits. Annoying and rude as always?'

"Oh, you mean Leon, Charles and Evan. They are good, little bit jealous of you now because you have control, but they are good. And they were never rude. Annoying yes, but never rude!"

'Whatever you say, crackhead.'

"And you say they are rude." Mark quietly mumbled, but Ivy and I/Aiden heard it and burst out laughing.

After lunch and after Aiden gave me control back, I went on my next period with Nolan. He is shy, but very interesting guy. He didn't really talked about his life. Only thing he told me was that he has a little sister and that he is adopted.

I finally got a good look at his face. And wow his eyes are dark. They are not brown, they are actually pure black and he also has a nose piercing.

He didn't want to talk about his parents or anything else involving his life and past.

He is not a really trusting person. Oh, well he will open up to me sooner or later. I just need to be patient.

Hopefully.

The rest of the day was normal. Pretty boring. Even though I got lost few time.

After school I went home with Nolan and Ivy because they live just one street away from me. I guess they are neighbors.

They are really close. You can see that Nolan truly trusts Ivy. Which would be weird for some people because of Ivy's looks.

She is a little bit taller then Nolan, has a short brown hair with purple highlights and dirty green eyes. She is the oldest one of us and has a lot of piercings and tattoos. Her hole back is covered in flower tattoos. She also has nose and eyebrow piercing and a lot of ear piercings.

When we got to my house and after I said goodbye to them I entered my house just to find my dad running around trying to stop the fire in the kitchen.

When he spotted me he immediately yelled at me to 'stop it with my water thing'.

I did because obviously I didn't want our new house to burn down and after that I gave my dad a lesson about how to stop a fire even if you are a earth dragon.

I finally reached my room and threw myself on my bed and started to think about this day. About Nolan, Ivy, Mark and Aiden of course. I thought about my dad and him not telling me why we moved here.

Let's hope this will be a good year...

Dragon's in this story have elements. They are born with them and can have more then one sometimes. Daniel has a water and ice element like his mom and his dad has a earth element. There is more elements like: fire, electricity, air etc.
