The air in the human's home was a lot fresher than he had expected. Back in hell the abandoned homes were old, and the air was moist and humid.
The small house was filled to the brim with random stuff. Candles standing on the shelves next to worn out books. Plants standing in the windows and pictures on the wall. The family that lived here might not be the richest in this town, but they weren't poor either.
"Take a seat mister." The little girl told him. "I will be back soon."
Sirin couldn't help but laugh. He was a lot younger than the girl after all.
Instead of sitting down like the girl had offered him, he decided to look around a bit more.
It didn't take long before she came back carrying a small plate with bread, meat, and some vegetables.
Sirin briefly glanced at the girl before he turned his gaze to one of the pictures that had caught his interest.
"Tel me little human. Why did you let me in in the first place? for all you know I might have been some sort of weird vampire."
The girl placed the food on the table. "My mom says it is good to get to know strangers. You might learn something new. Besides you killed that undead , so I doubt that you are that bad."
"If you say so."
Once they ate the food Sirin left again. He was disappointed to find out that he could barely taste the human foods. But he got to know more about this world, so it wasn't a complete loss.
After spending so much time doing something else than what he was supposed to do, he decided to just wander around and kill as many monsters as possible. Otherwise, he might not be ale to fulfil his part of the deal. And since he already ate all the souls, he received he didn't know what would happen then. Would he have to spit them all out?
He decided to remain in his base and shade demon form. It was a shame that he wouldn't get to properly test his venom, but he had an easier time moving around and thus killing like this.
At some point he was certain that one of the hunters was inspecting his tracks. Not wanting that person to catch up to him he changed his legs to digitigrade again and started to move from roof to roof. With the different footprint and the difficult location, he was almost certain that this hunter wouldn't cause many problems for him.
After killing some random creatures, he went back to the place where he was summoned, only to find Jordan there.
He looked frightened at the demon that he had summoned and had doubled in size in just a few days. But he soon collected himself again.
"Sirin," He spoke in a firm, jet subservient tone. "I know that my soul is already lost. If you don't take it, then another demon will. No matter what, after all that I have done, I won't be able to enter the heavens, the red god will swallow me whole. I have been trying to set things straight, I even summoned you to clean up the mess that I caused. But I can't help but fear my day of judgment. So, I wish to postpone it as much as possible. Ask for whatever you want, but please, I want to live for longer than this."
Sirin grinned as he watched the human plead. He knew that it would be worthless to go further into this conversation. Because in the end, he couldn't fulfil the man's request. But it would still be fun to tease him a little.
"Why do you ask for more if you have yet to pay of your first request? Even if I grant you more life, would you still be able to compensate for it?"
"I- I can! If you would give me more time."
Sirin chucked and circled around the man. "If you are so certain that you have already caused your own doom. Then why do you think that you are worthy of more time in the first place?"
Sirin didn't wait for the answer and walked deeper into the building. The sun was about to rise and after being awake for a few days straight he started to get tired.
He had decided to try and sleep in his Naga form so that he would make more venom in his sleep. Like that he would be able to use it the moment he woke up and finally see how it worked.
He curled up in one of the dark corners of the building while the man was worrying about what he should do now.
When Sirin woke up again he was disappointed to see that he had accidentally changed back in his sleep.
Quite annoyed he started to make his way out of the building. He hadn't slept for that long, that much was clear. The sun had seemingly just set, and if he hurried, he could make it back to town before the majority of the monsters was there.
He carefully stepped over the man that was sleeping in front of the entrance and ruched towards the village.
But once he set foot in there, he saw large tracks. They looked like the ones from the Nagas he had killed, only much larger.
He wondered if it was worth to go in there. If it truly was an adult, then he would have no change at winning. He wouldn't be breaking his deal if he helped defend the town by attacking the smaller monsters around it. This would allow the hunters to focus on the large Naga without being distracted by the littler ones.
He looked around if he happened to see the creature. But of course, he didn't. It might not even be in the area anymore.
As he pondered on what to do, he saw the hunter that had been following his tracks walking down the street, carrying his large battle axe and leather armour. Suddenly he stopped to stare directly at Sirin.
