1 The Unexpected Surprise

"Alex, change the code!" said Mr. Hope in a hurriedly voice.

"Change it to Felix, they won't be able to guess that." spat Mr. Hope in a cunning voice. "Now let's go to the mainframe!"

The sudden change of this morning's code, waiting in the mainframe for someone, it all seemed fishy and Mr. Hope, the Chief Executive of Futures, wouldn't say anything. Futures is the most powerful company in the world, it holds the DNA of everyone in this planet. Something like this hadn't ever happened before, just like last night's power cut. Shockingly, Mr. Hope hadn't invited Johnny and his twin, Futures most trusted and incredible employees. Johnny and his twin had been working here for 6 years, their brains whirring at optimum from weekly doses of Zed, the drug configured to their brains. It made forgetting impossible, the reason why most employees quit. They couldn't wake up every morning with the pain from their past: their friend losing his eyesight, while someone from their family passed away from cancer, everything else that went wrong in their life - they just couldn't tolerate to remember it.

Once we were in the mainframe, I sat down and came up with possible reasons why Mr. Hope and I were waiting for someone so early in the day. I looked around, in search of clues, and I figured it out! There in the far end of the room, lay the computer that had control over all of us, and someone was trying to use it to escape! But who could it be ?

In a moment, I got the answer to all my questions and queries, I found out who was trying to escape. I found out who the criminal was, and it wasn't only one, but there were 3!! In front of Mr. Hope and I stood Johnny, his twin and Chloe! Their frightened faces, attempted to flee, but were trapped in Mr. Hope's sly smile. I was eager to know how they could have gotten in, how do they know about the mainframe and the code ? In the blink of an eye, their whole plan unfolded before me.

Last night, there was an unexpected power cut and Mr. Hope was trapped in a lift with Chloe. As expected, while in the lift Mr. Hope would murmur to himself about his daughter, Faith, and her horse, Butterscotch. That's it, that must have been the code! After Chloe found out the code, she would tell it to Johnny and his twin and it would complete their plan to escape from Futures. The only unanswered question was - where was the back door which they used to escape ? Oh what a silly question, I thought to myself as I remembered that the computer was previously in the white room, so the door must be there too! There was no way Mr. Hope would move the computer back to the white room.

Well, unfortunately these 3 couldn't escape, but I know I will!! Once they are fired and I become Futures most trusted employee, I will change the course of this world with credit to Futures, of course!! Nevertheless this was indeed a pleasant morning, my success lies in front of me and no one to stop me.
