Giving her Gift

Eric was heading out the hall, he was already tired from the whole time he entertained guest for some talks. He did not wait the party to its end and announced to the guest to enjoy the rest of the night.

Good thing he check-in in a room in the hotel for him to rest for the night. But, when he was heading to his room he noticed footsteps following behind him, so he look back but nothing could be seen. As he reached the last corner to his room, he hid and wait for the person to pass him. He was not wrong, he was indeed followed since the person was in a hurry. He abruptly held the person and prevent from escaping his grip. Wearing a hooded jacket, he could not recognize the person.

"Who are you? Why are you following me?" He stated, he realized the person stop struggling. The hood slowly fall down and show him it was a girl.

The girl tried to look away from his sight. Her heart beat was so fast, as she felt nervous from being captive. But, Eric turn her around and found out who she was.

"Kim? What are you doing here?" Eric let go of her, waiting for her answer. When Eric looked at her entirety, Kim was still in her formal attire with the hooded jacket cover her outfit. Kim was holding her present inside the jacket, she was struggling to say her reasons in following him.

"I uh- , Just want to give this." she held out her gift to him.

"I forgot to place this on the gifts table earlier" she reasoned out, several second before Eric accept the paper bag. Most of his gift have been moved out and to be delivered tomorrow to his house, so that might be part of the reason she tried to catch up.

"Anyway, Happy birthday again, Eric. Have a good night. Bye." she turn around and walk fast as she can to the elevator. Eric look where she head and their eyes meet as the elevator closes. Eric was confused at Kim's action. He never thought she would go that far just to give the gift she supposed to give earlier. He looked back at the paper bag with a stylish design.

He head towards his room, enter the passcard. He walks toward the bed room and toss the gift. He changed his clothes and went back to it. He was intrigued on the gift since it was with him. He undo the ribbon and opened it.

There he saw a box with beautiful design. When he picked up the cover of the box, the sides of the box fall apart. Inside it, there was a sticky note. He read the words on the note.

"Happy Birthday. A handmade Special Memories Box Album. Please use it with memories precious to you." He put down the note and check the collapsed box. There he saw, it was an album box with many compartments. He never expect to receive a childish gift. He usually recieved foods and expensive gifts from other people since he started in the business industry. Even when he was in his schools years he never recieved any of it, mostly are foods and flowers.

He put back the gift and place it in the lamps table, before he prepare himself to sleep. He does not realized as he fall asleep, a smile was plastered in his face.

Kim was breathless when she arrived in her car, she could not believe she finally took a great courage to give the gift to him. Earlier her sister keep on teasing her, that's when her sister told her she would be home first and was not going to talk to her if she don't give the gift personally to him. At first she didn't take seriously what her sister said. But when she was about to get in their service, her sister shut the door in front of her. It started and gone off, later she recieved a text. 'Mark my words sister' that's what it says. She look arround, trying to figure out how she would go home. She saw her car parked beside her, so her sister already planned it.

She arrived in their house with her sister waiting for her in the living room. Her sister just looked at her, waiting for what her sister going to say.

"I already did what you want, now stop this nonsense" She sat down beside her. She saw her sister smiled widely at her.

"Then what happened? I'm sure there's more to it. Is he happy? Did he finally get to like you? Does he have feelings for you too? Now, tell me! Tell me!" She shake the right arm of her. Kim just sighed and held her back to rest.

"Don't expect too much Zen. Its not that easy, I was in a rush to even talk to him longer." Kim closes her eyes to have some rest. Zen let go of her arm and pouted.

"Huff, I can't believe you sis. How can you let the moment pass you? You two are President in each of your company, every hours was important. For him its not hard he would be easily settle down since he's a guy, while you stuck up being single as a woman. Soon you'll reach the age limit of a woman, you'll never going to have your own family by that time comes." her sister lectured her, as if she knows everything.

"How can you say that to me, Zen. I already know that, it just added salt on my wounds already" Kim sadly said.

"Then don't be stuck up there, make your move already. That every way he look at it, he must know how you feel towards him." Zen faced her and hold her two shoulder. "Don't worry, no matter what happens I'm here for you"

"I know Zen." Kim almost cried how Zen supported her. Zen realized it and she embraced her.
