Chapter 2

After finishing a sandwich and taking a drink of what I assumed was tea 'I honestly have no idea what this is its too sweet to be tea' I thought. Ellesmera sunk into her seat and her eyes seemed to be far away even through the new bond I could feel her mind was foggy with flashes of extreme emotions passing in a flash.

"Are you ok?" I questioned with a frown.

"Huh ah yes." She collected herself "I'm just dealing with the aftereffects of bypassing Artemis's so called blessing, its so freeing to get that weight off my chest."

I nodded keeping my head down. I could feel my little child heart breaking at the thought that I was just a means to get rid her issues.

A hand covered mine gently and I looked up through misty eyes as Ellesmera gave me a gentle smile. "I swore a oath of Chasity as I was practically raised by Hestia and Athena after seeing how the Olympians treated there lovers let alone there wedded partners. Also my life is in a far more tenuous position with how Gaia is my mother and Hera hates me for being another illegitimate child of her husband's philandering."

'Ah so with what's essentially a fertility ritual she wasn't able to fulfill it because of her oath basically hardcore edging her.' "So I'm guessing that oath was on the Styx correct otherwise you would have been able to break it without much consequence otherwise." Hearing the word Styx, Ellesmera twitched with a full-bodied shiver and painfully squeezed my hand.

Ellesmera seeing how she was hurting me let go before grabbing my wrist before I could pull back and the world blurred and I was in her lap as she wrapped her arms around me. I could feel her chest acting as my neck rest.

"I'm sorry for my outburst but she personally paid me a visit after Artemis's blessing and made it very apparent that should I break my promise she will scatter my essence throughout Tartarus to never reform as an example to other people swearing on her name." I could feel her primal fear from the bond, and I feel that immortals facing the very real threat of real death would fear it a great deal.

Deciding on trying to make her happy I concentrated on my magic cupping my hands and remembering her saying she was raised by Athena "Avis" I whispered with a glow coming through my hand as it was slowly pushed open by the forming magic solidifying. I could both feel and hear my adopted mother inhaling in shock as the magic glow dissipated showing a little owl barely a few months old in terms of growth "Chirp Chirp" it went announcing its arrive to the world.

Her hands tightened around me "That wasn't Mist Manipulation, that's a real life owl. Haaa you are going to be nothing but trouble I know it."

Raising my head I put on a cutesy voice and ignoring the likely literal prophecy coming from behind me "You said you were raised by Athena so why don't you call it Pallas."

She snorted "You do realize if she finds out you made a magical owl for me and not one for her there will be hell to pay correct?"

I gleefully shrugged feeling proud of actually making an owl and not a bunch of smaller birds as the spell was made for.

We both turned to the sound of leaves crushing and a man emerging from the tree line. "That's you're ride. I will contact you at in a few days after you get settled in."

She stood up and like her handmaidens merged with a tree. Argus waved at me to follow and we shared a muted walk out of the forest and onto a road with a van parked on the side with a strawberry logo on it.

'This is sketchy as hell' I thought sitting in the back of the white van, because there would be no creepier situation than this, here I am riding in the back a of a white van with a man I didn't even share a word with and even worse he isn't even looking at me through the rearview mirror because he literally has eyes on the back of his head.

I turned to look out the window and saw we were passing through a large strawberry field "So are we almost there?"

Argus nodded and there was nothing creepier than watching a dozen eyes looking at you from the back of someone's head bobbing up and down. Shuddering I realized if I see a boggart I may not have to deal with a massive dog trying to eat me.

The van shuddered and I felt a something blanket over me seemingly judging me before we past through its sight. "Was that the barrier around the camp?" I received no answer.

After ten minutes of steadily growing nerves we past through a patch of trees and we pulled over beside a large house which I assumed was the Big House where Chiron and Dionysus stayed at. "Oh didn't I see you at the Empire State Building earlier?" I looked up and saw a man sitting on the porch swing and his expression was a little peculiar. I'm guessing he wished he got me before I left.

"Oh yeah I was panicking with a hellhound on my heels I barely noticed you guys."

Chiron stood up from his seat and changed from a man into his centaur form wearing a bow and quivers of arrows on each of his side. "That's fair but you may already be in trouble young man Ellesmera, has hmm not nearly enemies as much as people who will smite you to hurt her."

Well that figures and isn't that being a demigod anyway with how all the Olympians have beef with one another or is willing to smite a mortal for a minor offense anyway. Shrugging I blandly replied "I don't think it makes any difference from being most any demigod from what I know all the gods have rivalries if not worse with other gods."

Chiron simply nodded "Yes that's also correct but those children have the support of there godly parent for the most part unless they directly offend another god. You on the hand have a nature spirit as you're mother albeit the most powerful one besides the Earth Mother's Eidolons."

It took a moment to remind me about Gaia's servants who made there mark by trying to possess a bunch of hero's and failing.

Crash Crash!! A couple trees were smashed down and low and behold it was the very damn hellhound we spoke of. "How did it get past the barrier!?" He shouted pulling a bow and a quiver of arrows from his side and started shooting it but his arrows although all landed and penetrated the beast weren't immediately lethal and it had only one target me...

Deciding to be an ass I concentrated on it's face as it bounded at me setting the poles of magic I yelled "Fulmen" and a wrist thick bolt of lightning was shot out of my hand and struck straight into the mouth. The hellhound fell face first into the ground literally doing a front flip from the momentum and it rolled to a stop thrashing harshly attempting to whimper but only wheezing for a minute as we watched it slowly stop moving before collapsing into a pile of gold dust that was carried into the wind. I quickly walk forward and into the dust pile and found a large tooth bigger than an adults thumb.

"Your lucky that the gods on Olympus are busy with the Summer Solstice I don't know if Zeus would punish you for using his lightning without being his direct child."

I was struck dumb "Oh the solstice is here?" I was mentally screaming that I missed Luke stealing the damn bolt what do I do, should I say something or just wait and try to help Percy on his quest, fuccckkkk...
