20 Chapter 19

Over the next several month's I was taught a very simple lesson, Yokai and other supernatural entities have a very different perspective of time compared to me and other humans. I was greeted a few days after the my defeat and escape from the Scarlet Devil Mansion by none other than Hong Meiling who wanted to make amends to how I was treated apparently. Honestly Hong Meiling was no different from a human in how she treated me with her being a Yokai, and over the next few months I had her as a guest and she started teaching me the some basic katas and most importantly in her words how to properly breath and in return I gave her a little vial of my blood to give to Remilia, apparently my blood could keep her sister Flandre happy along with being far more filling that other blood.

I swear it was similar to what the demon slayers in Kimetsu Yaiba did and what some cultivation manuals described, I was taking in Yang energy and slowly augmenting my bodies strength but it wasn't like I was going to seriously add to my lifespan with it. No it was a good body strengthening method not some miracle method that makes me capable of destroying worlds or something.

The breathing portion of my Education took the longest part of her stay and I am guessing I inherited my talent with spears from my birth mother as she was able to give me some pointers but when asked if there is anyone who specialize in spear's she had a funny expression till finally she caved and bluntly told me in Gensokyo Remilia was the best spear user period and even her spear was made from a piece of Gungnir Odin's spear which she named her own after.

Honestly I didn't want to go back there and get cut up with the excuse of teaching me how to use the weapons in live combat. that just sounds like an easy excuse for her to try to dink my blood.

Another thing was with Reimu being busier with her shrine maiden duties and cleaning up after peoples incidents Marisa started to come around and even bring her friend Alice with. Alice was a shorter petite teenager with blond hair who specialized in creating and animating dolls.

Speaking of which she was here right now having spent the night along with Marisa while I used the knowledge I gained to help charm Marisa's flying broom to make it better. "Hey Marisa have you heard anything from Reimu about what's happening with Yukari or her familiars. She was supposed to help me get connected with a sword teacher though I don't think I really need it with how well my spear lessons are going?"

Marissa shrugged "I haven't seen or heard from them in a couple months apparently someone really strong tried to break through Gensokyo's barrier and they all had to fight them off so Yukari is in a very deep sleep to recover, that's also why Reimu is super busy lately everyone is being a nuisance now!" She yelled with Alice chuckling quietly in the background

"Yeah well at least this place is kept safe and even other Yokai know this place is just as off limits to there shenanigan's like at the Hakurei Shrine." Alice said coolly holding a doll in her lap and giving me an appreciative nod as I knew she and Marisa have had a bad streak of luck with there houses being destroyed repeatedly and them basically bumming at my place.

Yeah apparently if you burn enough monsters, fairies, and several dozen Yokai to death or them watching another Yokai or creature step on trapped runes that turn the air in someone's lungs to acid seriously makes people reconsider there choices in life. "Yeah well after Chen I didn't want people trying to destroy my home and they deserve whatever happens to them for trying to eat me."

Both the young women nodded and being basically human they have had there fair share of the inhabitants of Gensokyo trying to eat them or likewise kill them for no other reason than its in there nature.

"Ok but I think its time I get out of the tower honestly I have already spent more than a year in the top half of Gensokyo. I should try to checkout the old hell and maybe I can go along the old ways and into the main underworld I can probably get back to Earth that way." I said remembering Reimu's lessons on Gensokyo and the major players that she knew. Unless I wanted to get embroiled up in another incident I probably wont get too much else here in Gensokyo and as I've crept up the power structure here I have had more issues with the Yokai trying to harass me as I was literally the only man of note and power here within Gensokyo.

Marisa actually looked sad to here that and Alice just shrugged "Yeah I may not have known you for long but you're kind are called Outsider's for a reason, you simply just don't fit in here and me an Marissa have traveled in the old hell extensively so I can give you a bit of a map on how to reach the old ways but we both have never traveled them it can be very dangerous."

After a bit of small talk with Marissa and Alice I left to check in with Reimu and tell her my decision to leave. I flew over to her pristine and restored shrine and sighed, I lived her for a couple months and this was the first place I was holly welcomed and made new friends through it even if I could shrink my tower and take it with me now I will seriously miss this place most of all.

I was in luck if her laundry hanging outside was any sign she was here. "Hey Reimu you here!?" I called out and heard a muffled reply coming from inside so I flew around and saw the back door slid open and Reimu laying on the floor relaxing with her legs concealed underneath the rooms low table.

"Hey Jake what are you up too." She said lethargically turning on her side to look at me as I sat on the side of the porch and looked around at forest stretching behind the Shrine.

"Reimu I think its time for me to get back to Earth. and I have no idea when Yukari is going to pop back up so I am going to try to go through old hell." I said with Reimu quietly sitting up in response.

Reimu came and set next to me and I saw her expression was understanding with a hint of melancholy she smiled gently "Jake I took you in because I know you needed the help and I am glad you came but why don't you just wait till Yukari comes back it wont take more than a couple years at most."

I shook my head. If I waited years just for someone to wake up from their nap so I could go and finally meet Scathach my birth mother I wouldn't amount to much. "I cant wait on her you know how she is and even if she agrees to take me out of here I can't even hope to get her to take me where I want to go."

Reimu huffed and I took that as a silent agreement and after a few minutes of saying goodbye and a final firm hug I left, and returned to my tower to find the girls gone and only a map on the main table depicting the levels through old hell and the path to earth. After spending several minutes shrinking my tower and making sure it was secured in my space expanded bag I started to the gorge that led to the old hell.
