58 Walking into a trap

Since the moment, Yuan Li heard that Ziyue was trying to change her career to acting, her heart was troubled.

"Ziyue, listen to me," she said, "You are not thinking about it clearly. You are a good singer, excellent at your work. "But where are you going?"

"Washroom," she informed

"Oh.... okay," Yuan Li nodded. For a second, she thought Chen Ziyue was leaving in anger but since it was only going to the washroom, she sighed in relief.

Bai Liyue quickly hurried outside to follow the businessman who had already left the restaurant. Coming out of the restaurant, she adjusted her glasses and wore a mask over her face. She did not want anyone to recognize her and miss such a beautiful chance. After making sure that no one would recognize her, she headed straight to the lobby thinking that the businessman would definitely go towards the exit of the hotel to leave.

However, when she came to the lobby, she saw the businessman waiting for the lift with the woman instead of going toward the exit. A complicated look flashed through Bai Liyue's eyes when she realized that business was going to spend the night with that woman in this hotel.

Bai Liyue pressed her lips and took a deep breath. She knew that all of this could be set up to trap her. There was no such thing as a beautiful coincidence when Yuan Li took her out for dinner and she was able to see the businessman with his mistress. Her sixth sense was screaming at her that this was a trap. After reading her post, how could the real mastermind behind Chen Ziyue's fall sit still? This had to be planned.

At this time, Bai Liyue heard a 'ping' sound. She came out of her daze and looked at the elevator. The businessman was walking inside the elevator with his mistress along with a few people. Seeing this, Bai Liyue didn't have the time to think about it anymore. The stakes and risks were high but she wanted to find the truth as soon as possible.

Knowing that this could be a trap, she walked right into it. She entered the lift and stood at the extreme back. Luckily the businessman was kissing and flirting with the woman in his arms, and they didn't notice her. Bai Liyue took out her phone, pretending to message someone while her eyes were glued to the businessman's back.

She tried to look at the woman's face, however, it was impossible. One by one people began to alight when the elevator reached their respective floors. Bai Liyue clutched her purse, her heart raced with anticipation and lingering fear. She bit her lips, trying to reduce her presence as much as possible.

Soon, the elevator reached the eleventh floor and she saw the businessman exiting the lift with the woman in his arms. Bai Liyue braced herself and quietly exited the elevator after them. She didn't follow them right away. Instead, she turned the other way and chose to hide and see the situation first.

Her eyes followed the business and saw him entering the last room in the hallway. Weirdly enough, the light in this hallway was quite dim and the place looked oddly deserted. After the businessman had entered the room with the woman, she walked out of her hiding place and walked towards the door.

Bai Liyue looked at the room with a dim expression. She was at loss. This was the room where that businessman was having an affair. This was the room where she could find all her answers. This was the room where she could see the face of the woman who was equally in involved in destroying Chen Ziyue's life.

What to do? How to know who the woman was?

She looked around, racking her brain for ideas. There were several ideas in her mind like pretending to be a maid and going inside the room for room service, or bringing a staff of this hotel to enter the room, and many more. But, none of these ideas seemed feasible or convenient to execute.

Suddenly, the door in front of her opened. Bai Liyue was frightened, her eyes went wide with horror. Before she could think of anything, she saw the businessman standing in front of her, smirking at her. "Oh... hello, Miss Chen Ziyue. I was waiting for you...." he smiled, looking at her with mockery in his eyes.

Bai Liyue was paralyzed on the spot. Seeing the businessman towering over her, there was only one thought in her mind.

RUN!

Her mind screamed at her. Without wasting any more time, Bai Liyue turned around and ran. However, the businessman was one step faster than her. He grabbed her arm, muffled her mouth with his other hand, pulled her inside the room, and closed the door.
