1 Chapter 1-The Agency

"So, here's a summary of the recent events, Seeker," Ruthless sighed as he handed over a few sheets of paper to a man with black hair and tanned skin, two days after Farriz died. The man sighed as he skimmed through the pages.

"So how are you sure his death was by poison?" Seeker shot him a questioning look.

"I am the doctor, right?" Ruthless sighed.

"Ah right, but I still want an explanation."

"Carbon Monoxide poisoning, the blood's cherry red. His dead body was later set up to hide the real cause of his death via an accident."

"I see. You may go, Ruth."

Ruth sighed and walked out of the room. A doctor for a Dectective Agency wasn't as safe as working as an actual doctor, but excitement was way more important for safety. The Armed Dectective Agency was really worth the risk. He decided to keep the reports to himself as requested, but he was afraid that it would come out anyways as he was bad at keeping secrets. However, Adi, Celer and Pym heard him chuckling to Farriz's dead body, so they were allowed to work with him on this case. As he was lost in his thoughts, he bumped into someone.

He heard the porcelain crashing and looked down at his feet. Tea oozed out of the cracked cup though the saucer was [mostly] alright.

"Sorry Saku," he sighed. "I didn't-"

"It's alright." Saku, the pink-haired dectective picked up the cups. "Ask someone to clear it up, won't you?"

"We never drop anything right?" he cocked his head and dodged a punch from Saku and dashed to the main office to talk to Adi, who was one of the higher-end agents in the Agency. He was present at the scene and Ruth was only allowed to relay information on to Squad 4: A temporary squad formed only when emergencies and extremely high-profile cases like the death of an Agency high-end or a VVIP assassination took place. They also handled higher cases as well like transportation of documents/important secrets. No one in the Agency knew when this squad would form and who were in it other than the boss himself.

"Yo Adi! Got any news from the Central Hospital?" Ruth called out to Adi as he treaded towards him. Adi turned his back and looked at Ruth with a poker face.

"Nay," he sighed. "I have received no news, good or bad. By the way, where is Pym?"

"He's with Celer investigating the crime scene."

"He'd better hurry up." Adi sighed.

Celer yawned as Pym examined the clothing in the forensics lab. A few paces away, Farriz's body lay being dissected by a couple of pathologists. Ruth had secretly told them to head to the hospital and search for an old colleague by the name of Dr.Keshav, who would let them inspect the clothing.

"Apparently, there was nothing suspicious on the clothes. No DNA other than that of him and his colleagues, but you claimed that he didn't come to work in the morning but saw him leave the office last night?" he inquired.

"Yes," Pym nodded his head.

The pathologist turned the white overcoat on its back. "So, he was killed somewhere between three nights ago at 11pm and 5am the next day, as you guys found the body around the same time and rigor mortis has set in."

This piqued Celer's interest. "There were no signs of struggle?" she asked with a light shining in her eyes.

"No signs of struggle," Keshav sighed as he folded the overcoat. "Apparently."

"It was a gas-based ability." Celer concluded.

"And makes you say so, miss?" the doc decided to humor her.

"It's Farriz's skill, The King's will. He can predict physical threats in the future and exert his will to block such attacks. However, he can't counter non-physical threats with his will or while sleeping. What's more, it's not in his nature to sleep early except on days that he feels exhausted, and last time I saw Farriz, he looked really tired."

"Then how come Farriz didn't predict the poisoning?" Pym pointed his finger to the ground.

"He isn't the kind who expects murder in bed," Celer sighed. "He's dumb and the technique needs activation in advance and he can't go beyond a hour into the future."

"I see," Pym murmured. "Thanks doc, I'll take my leave." he then called out to Celer. "Come, let's go!"

"Where to?" she inquired as she drifted behind Pymamba.

"To the Port Mafia!" he declared as he exited the room. Celer's eyes opened wide and she started sweating profusely. Her legs buckled under her own weight and couldn't walk without tripping. Her fingers trembled. She didn't know whether to follow him or not. She was lost.
