Chapter 1: Betrayal

On that eventful day. It all began.

Ding Dong

The school bell rang signifying that class is now in session.

"Hey Arthur, how was your morning!"

It was going good until you decided to talk to me.

"My morning has been wonderful Mary!" Arthur said putting on a fake smile.

"So did you see the pars for the upcoming project. Looks like we'll be working together. That'll be fun don't you think"

Ugh. I hate that smile she puts on. You can tell it's forced. Then again, I guess I force mine to. But there's a difference in our forced smiles. She smiles to get people to like her. While I smile to make sure I don't get on anyone's bad side. I couldn't care if anyone here liked or disliked me. I just wanna be left alone.

"Hey dweeb!"

And here comes Brock. One could say he's my bully. But that's far stretched. I let him bully me. Keeps me out of any extra trouble.

*Slams foot on desk* "I hope you have my homework done you loser shit."

"Of course I do."

Arthur put up yet another fake smile.

Brock snatches the homework out of Arthur's hand and proceeds to check it

"Thanks dweeb. Oh and you better have money for my you know what." He says as he walks away.

Who even says dweeb anyway.

"Arthur! You can't let him keep treating you like that!"

I can never understand why she cares so much. It's not like your the one getting picked on. Why can't some people just stay in their lane.

"Truthfully, I don't mind it."

Yet another forced smile has been made.

"Well, if you say so."

The teacher then walked into class

"Settle down everybody and take your seats. As you all know, we have an upcoming project. I will now begin listing the pars: Tiana and Jacob, Trevor and Blake-"

I just want to leave here already. This place is so boring.

What language is that. I've never heard it before. Never mind that. What's going on. What is this mystery voice I'm heari-

Arthur's eyes widened and his heart skipped a beat. He suddenly coughed up blood and fell to the ground.

Why. What. Why is this happening. What is happening.

He looked around and his heart dropped even further. All his classmates were dead on the floor. There was blood everywhere. His vision then began to fade.

"Arthur! Arthur please wake up!"

I…I know that voice

As Arthur began to wake up, he was met with a familiar face.

It's Mary

"Where are we." Arthur asked

"I don't know. We all woke up roughly around the same time."

"I see."

"Well all of us did except for that guy"

*Mary then pointed at the guy in the corner*

Arthur looked to where she was pointing and it was one of his classmates. He walked over to go talk to him. He looked scared out of his mind.

"Hey-"

Arthur quickly covered his nose as an awful smell filled the air near him. He looked down and saw

He…he pissed himself!

"We're gonna die. We're all gonna die down here. We can't beat that monster. We're dead. We're dead we're dead we're dead we're dead."

He keeps repeating it. What the hell happened to this guy.

Just as Arthur was about to ask him, a voice filled the room.

"WELCOME BRAVE VALIANT HEROES! WE HAVE SUMMONED YOU ALL HERE TO HELP IN THE DEFEAT OF THE DEMON LORD!"

"Summoned? Demon Lord?" Concerned voices filled the room

"IM SURE A LOT OF YOU HAVE MANY QUESTIONS. BUT FIRST EVERYONE CHECK YOUR ABILITY THAT YOU RECIEVED. TO DO THIS, SIMPLY SAY THE WORDS TRANSMISSION ACTIVE AND A SCREEN GIVING Y'ALL A FULL DETAILED REPORT ON YOUR ABILITY AND ALL IT'S FUNCTIONS WILL APPEAR."

Abilities? Also what's with this language he's speaking. It sounds like the one I heard come from the voice during that incident in class. But, I can understand it now? Whatever let's just check out this ability thing

"Transmission Active!"

Ability: Vampire

Vampire? Like Dracula?

Let's see the description:

The vampire ability allows you to grow stronger the more passionate you are during battle.

What does that mean?

As a vampire, you gain the ability to drain the blood of anybody.

Whenever you bite someone with your fangs you transform that being into your servant.

Sounds like things a vampire would do. How lame. I'm still stuck up on that first part. What does it mean to be "passionate" during battle. Whatever I'll figure it out.

"I HOPE YOU ALL HAD TIME TO LEARN YOUR ABILITIES AND HOW THEY WORK. CAUSE YOU'LL NEED THEM IF YOU WANNA MAKE IT THROUGH THIS TEST ALIVE." Said the strange voice in a very sinister way.

"Alive? Does that mean there's a chance we'll die? What test?" Concerned voiced filled to room again.

"Hey Arthur, how do you feel about all this?" Mary asked in a concerned tone

"Not to sure"

"THE TEST WILL NOW BEGIN!!!"

Shit already! I don't even know how to use my ability.

To use your ability, simply say Activate Transmission.

Huh? A voice. Whatever.

"Activate Transmission!"

Denied

Huh!? The hell does it mean denied!

"ACTIVATE TRANSMISSION!"

Denied

What is going on!!?

Just then one of the gates in the room opened. Out came creatures you would only see in a fantasy game. Creatures of every kind. Arthur looked to see how Mary was doing and she looked absolutely terrified. She was shaking.

This is bad. We'll die here if I don't do something

"Mary what's your ability!"

"H-huh" she responded

"QUICK YOUR ABILITY!!!" Arthur demanded in a hurry

"O-oh, i-it's the a-ability to detect creatures that are near by. How much of a threat they are and what type of creature they are."

Hers works fine, so why won't mine? I'll have to figure that out later. My only goal as of right now is to survive this. Wait…threat? So she can know how dangerous her enemies are. There's about 100 monsters here.

"Check the threat level of all these monsters!"

"O-ok…HUH!"

Mary fell to her knees

"Th-th-they're all a threat level of gold!"

"Gold?"

"I-It seems this world gives beings a rank based off their strength. Paper, copper, silver, gold, diamond, ascendants, and finally heroes. Since we just arrived here… w-we're not even p-paper level yet."

HUH?! How the hell are we expected to beat 100 monsters that many leagues above us. Wait… heroes? I recall the voice calling all of us heroes. Does that mean we all have a chance of making it to hero level?

Just then one of the classmates walked up

"You guys can relax. I'll wipe these monsters out myself."

"FLARE BOMB!!!" he screamed out

"NO DON'T!" Arthur yelled

*slice*

Just like that, his head came flying off with one swing from the monsters.

"AAAAHHHHH!!!!"

Screams quickly filled the room.

"WERE ALL GONNA DIE HERE!"

Shit. This is bad. Mary is still shooken up, so she won't be of much help.

"EVERYONE CALM DOWN!" Jake yelled

Jake is usually the class leader due to how well versed he is in commanding people and keeping them under control.

"Look, they aren't attacking. It seems like they are guarding that gate they came through. That's most likely our way out. If you guys also check your active transmition there's a timer there."

8 minutes 21 seconds. I see what's happening now.

"That timer is probably when they'll attack unaggravated. We'll use this time to devise a plan."

Everyone listened as he told his plan

"Everyone got it?"

"YES!" The whole class responded

"Remember we'll wait for the timer to run out. That'll lead them to come and attack us."

On the sidelines sat Arthur and another girl. Her name was Ana. She had beautiful blue eyes and long black hair. She's a bit of a shy corner girl though.

Jake then walked over

"Since you two are the only ones who can't use your abilities right now, just sit back, we'll get yall out of here"

His words filled me with hope. Could that be his ability at work? I've definitely never thought of that guys words as motivational.

"5…4…3!"

"EVERYONE GET READY"

"2…1…0!"

Suddenly the monsters all started rushing them.

"So the time thing was right." Said Emily

"That's good, it means our plan might actually work!" Jake yelled

At the frontline were all the people with fighter abilities. Which was mainly everyone. The two people who stayed in the back with Arthur and Ana were Mary and Arnold.

"Don't worry guys, I'll detect if any monsters come near us."

"And if they do I'm here to protect us with a shield"

"Th-thank you very much"

I hope they don't expect me to show appreciation. I can easily handle myself.

"Though I guess I am somewhat glad you guys are here to help." Arthur muttered under his breath as he slightly blushed.

"Restrain!"

Huh…chains? This is Tiana's ability. But why?

Chills ran down Arthur's spine as he figured out exactly what was happening here.

"So this was the plan." Arthur said as he looked toward Jake.

"Your a sharp one Arthur. You see, we weren't over there talking about how we were gonna beat the monsters."

A sinister smile formed Jake's face.

"We were deciding how best to utilize you two. See while we were talking, Mary said that she couldn't detect any abilities from either of you.

"THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! IT SAYS RIGHT HERE THAT MY ABILITY IS VAMPIRE!"

"Lies will get you no where. We have no need for people who can't pull their own weight. So we're gonna use you two as bait to get out of here."

Arthur fell into a defeated state before looking up at Mary

"And you to Mary."

"Duh."

Mary finally dropped the fake smile act she's been playing this whole time.

"I want to live. I never really cared about you. I just knew eventually you'd be useful to have in my trust. I guess getting summoned to another world was what did it. I got use out of you. Goodbye loser."

Mary then walked off with the others. Tiana's ability deactivated. The monsters then proceeded to run straight for Arthur and Ana.

They're ignoring them and coming straight for us. I'm guessing this is George's ability.

"A-Arthur, I-I'm scared"

Arthur looked to see how the other guy was doing. The next moment he immediately threw up. They had already killed him…not the monsters… but the "classmates".

"So there's nothing we can do huh. We're really gonna die here"

The next moment Arthur became overcome with laughter.

"Ahahahhahhaa!! I'M REALLY GONNA DIE LIKE THIS! SUMMONED TO ANOTHER WORLD AGAINST MY WILL JUST TO BE IMMEDIATELY CASTS ASIDE!! MY ASS!"

Conditions met. Activate transmission?

"So thats what they meant." Arthur said as he devilishly smiled.

"Confirm"

Transformation into a vampire now active.

Arthur's body began to transform, though it wasn't much visually. Mainly, his muscles began to puff up and he grew fangs. His nails also became longer.

Transformation into vampire complete.

"Ahahahahaahaha."

Arthur's sinister laugh quickly filled the room.

"SO THIS IS MY POWER" He yelled while grinning.

The monsters charged at Arthur

Within a flash… about 10 of the 100 monsters heads flew. Laughing maniacally the entire time Arthur flew threw slicing each monster swiftly and efficiently.

"Ahahahahha!! YES MORE MORE BLOOD I WANT MORE BLOOD TO SPILL!!!!"

!WARNING WARNING! LIMIT REACHED LIMIT REACHED! Would you like to limit break?

"SURE IF THATS WHAT'LL BRING ME MORE BLOOD SHED"

Limit break approved

Now moving faster than the speed of sound, Arthur is defeating enemies faster than ever before.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHA! WHO KNEW KILLING THINGS WOULD BE SOOO MUCH FUUUUNNN!!!"

Ana sat and watched as the scene unfolded before her. Unbeknownst to Arthur. She was liking the sight. The sight of blood spill. The sight of Arthur's sinister nature. That's when her ability to, was activated.

Within moments Arthur had finished all the monsters off. There was just one left, the dark shadowy looking monster. It looked almost like some sort of grim reaper.

"So you must be the boss. I don't need Mary's detection to know that you're leagues above these other small fry I just slayed. I bet you're around diamond rank."

Arthur began laughing once more…this time more sinister than the last.

"AAHAHAHA. I JUST KNOW I'LL HAVE FUN FIGHTING YOU!! BRING IT ON!"
