8 Fine

The stars are covered with darkness, just like the pain that the poor Kiara felt. It doesn't seem to leave and keeps on staying. Just like the rain that starts to pour, she couldn't stop the tears from flowing down the floor. So she forced her eyes to shut, pulling her hair out as if it's the last.

She knew very well that that's not it. But she couldn't stop feeling the same thing she felt when she lost her dog. The same feeling of grief, hurt, and sadness came in one and it's familiar. Too familiar that she couldn't help but just sit in the corner of the road and let herself drown in tears.

The rumbling of the mad clouds joined her endless screams. Everything was just fine before she fucked it up. She couldn't help but blame herself for what happened. The feeling of losing two people in just one day shattered her heart into pieces, piercing it and leaving scars all over.

Surely, this is not what she wanted. But she knew very well that she can't just turn back the time. Everything is just messed up and now she cried along the rain hoping that someone would hear and save her from her miseries.

As if on cue, a car pulled out revealing a woman bringing an umbrella and used it to shied the uncollected girl from the heavy rain. The woman made sure to put the heater on before driving down the road

"She told me you would be there, probably letting yourself get drench by the rain," the woman said trying to start a conversation

"You shouldn't have bothered. I'm fine. It's always been like this"

Kiara indeed felt like she has been trapped on a repeated cycle. She memorized the love equation like it's just in the back of her head. You met a stranger, you became friends, you fell in love, and then you break up and repeat. And she's tired of it.

"I'm still mad at you for hurting my cousin, but believe it or not even though you hurt her she still begged me to come to pick you up or you might get sick. Even if the two of you broke up, you can't erase the fact that she still genuinely cares for you"

"Then she shouldn't have broken up with me in the first place and gave me a chance to fix everything"

"She has given you a lot of chance Kiara. A lot more than you deserve but you always blew it off"

"I know but this time, I can be better."

"Just give her some space in the meantime and focus on your studies. I know how broken-hearted you are right now, but you can't let yourself get affected by it, not now that you're having your qualifying exam for you to be able to proceed Accountancy course in the 3rd year."

"How can I not let it affect me. I love her more than I love myself"

"And that's the problem. You can't love someone more than you love yourself. That's not how it goes Kiara. If you indeed love her then prove her by loving yourself first. Focus first on your self-growth and when you're ready, ask her to be your girl once again"

"And what if it's too late?"

"If you belong to each other, neither of you won't be late. Instead, you will meet in the middle and at the perfect time."

The drive was long and silence filled the car. Neither of the two was talking but it didn't make them uncomfortable at all. The woman knew that Kiara needed some time for her own thoughts. After all, it was a long day for her.

After what seems to be an hour, they arrived in front of a black-painted gate. Kiara stayed inside the car for a little while before hopping out of the car. She lowered herself enough to met the woman's eyes

"Thank you for driving me home, Kelsey. And please tell Cassandra that I love her"

"You're the one who should say that to her and not me," Kelsey said, smiling at Kiara before driving off the road.

And now loneliness struck her once again. Entering the empty house filled with nothing but just darkness. She didn't even bother to turn on the lights or eat dinner. Instead, she proceeds to her room and buried her face in the pillow.

When you lost someone, it is like losing a part of yourself and that's exactly what Kiara felt. She feels empty inside and so she couldn't sleep. Her eyes are fixated on her phone, waiting for it to ring and reveal the name of the person she wanted to talk to the most. The person she wanted to cuddle every night and the person she wanted to spent the rest of her life with. But that person is now gone and it's because of her stupidity.

She didn't even notice the tears that start to drops. She feels numb, her heart is hollowed and it feels like she's in the abyss. Her lips are dry just like the desert. She desperately looks for some water only to realize that she already missed the oasis.

She can't look back because she needs to continue her journey. She hesitated to let go, she doesn't want to let go but she knew very well that in life, not all people stay. That in the end, we all bid our goodbye's

She couldn't even say the words that linger on her lips, the words "it's not fine", "take care" and the words she never got to say, the words "I love you, my person"

But Kiara realized another thing, she realized her biggest asset and that's not her breast but her persistency and how the girl just doesn't know the word give up. She loves Cassandra for fuckin sakes and so she decided that she'll do everything just to get her girl back.

Indeed, she lost her girlfriend and best friend today but she knew that as long as there's tomorrow then there's hope that everything will be fine, she's positive about it because this time she's ready to face the world just to get her girlfriend and best friend back in her arms.
