20 Chapt 4: Comfort

Luna stood there a moment imagining herself able to see Lace through the door. She wondered about this vampire and how he seemed to be so familiar with the royal family… or Maybe he was just familiar with Jue.

'Is this how all Jue's guards are?' Luna wondered.

She heard a knock on the hallway bathroom door. She quickly closed the door between her room and the bathroom. There was a knock on her bedroom door that caused her to jump a little.

"M'Lady, have you closed the door yet?" Lace asked

"Yes!" She answered a little breathless.

She heard the ladies filling up the tub and also talking to Lace.

"Lace, have you spoke with the lady?" One maid asked.

"I've heard she is beautiful and Prince Jue is already in love with her!" Another maid said.

Luna heard Lace grumble and the ladies started to giggle.

"Ladies, no need to gossip! I'm sure soon you will meet your lady." Lace answered.

"OH?! How soon!?" The maids asked together.

Luna stayed quiet. Part of her wanted to throw something at Lace because she didn't want the maids to think they'd met her tonight. She wanted to say something but was afraid if she said something the maids would take longer to leave. She really wanted to get into the water and help herself. Before she knew it, she was laying on the bed, her lower half hanging off the edge so she would press her hips against the bed. She buried her face into her bed and groaned softly.

There was a soft knock on her bathroom door. She turned her head and stared at it.

"Ma'am, the water is ready. Please, give us a few minutes to leave." One of the maids said.

'I am so ready to get in that water with just my clothes on.' she thought to herself.

Luna started to undress. She always wore clothes that she could take off herself. She took a moment to untied and pull off her skirt down. She let that fall to the ground. She reached behind her back and pulled on a string that was hidden and the ties on the back of her shift came undone. She couldn't wait to find out if she could wear her simple clothes around. Trousers and a shirt. She let her shirt fall down her shoulder and she pulled it off the rest of the way. She was left simply in her shift.

She walked towards her bathroom door and knocked softly. Just to make sure that no one was hiding in there. She really didn't want to deal with anyone right now. When no one answered, she opened the door slowly and peaked in. No one was there, thankfully.

Quickly Luna walked towards the tub and got in. She sighed loudly with relief as the very hot water wrapped around her body. The boiling water relieved some things and dulled others.
