10 Why Am I Alone With You?

Around half an hour later after Mia ran away a few construction workers just entered the building when they saw two unconscious boys lying on the floor. From the looks it appeared to them that these two got drunk and fought each other. They immediately called the ambulance and sent them to the hospital.

When Mia finally reached outside Lily's home she breathed a sigh of relief but just then her body gave up and she fainted!

Lucas was just standing there in the rain in a daze staring at Mia. He had so many thoughts running through his mind that he just couldn't give any kind of reaction! It was like he was frozen!

'WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO HER?'

'WHO DID THIS?'

'WHY IS SHE HERE IN SUCH A STATE?'

A couple of minutes later Lucas snapped out of his thoughts.

'What am I doing! She needs help and I'm f***ing standing here like a d**k!"

Lucas cursed himself!

He slowly moved closer to Mia and carefully lifted her up in his arms. He carried her inside the house. When they reached inside they were both drenched. As Lily, Raphael and Annie went away for the weekend Lucas was alone in home. So, Lucas took her to his room and put Mia on his bedroom couch.

As he did so he thought about what he should do. He looked at Mia, her clothes were torn and barely covering her body. She had injuries & bruises all over her body and some deep cuts which were bleeding. Her paled face also had some cuts and her cheeks swollen & blue like someone continuously slapped her. No one could recognize her easily in such a state. Lucas's heart clenched and his eyes turned cold.

He gently patted on her hand to wake her up. After 10 minutes Mia subconsciously held Lucas's hand. For a moment she stayed still but in the next second as she realized there was someone who was touching her she threw away his hand and jumped out of the couch.

Her body was weak and in pain but Mia ignored everything as she glared coldly at the person infront of her.

Because of Mia's sudden actions Lucas was taken aback but he soon realized that Mia was in shock and she was only trying to protect herself from him not exactly recognizing Lucas.

Lucas took a deep breathe to compose himself and said in a gentle tone,

"Hey Johnson! It's me, Lucas! You are safe now. You are in my home."

Mia didn't budge even a little and she just stared at him putting her guard up all the time.

Lucas tried again, "Try to remember okay! You drove here yourself. I don't know how you got here! I found you in this black truck outside! You fainted so I just brought you in."

Hearing about the 'black truck' Mia finally recalled everything about her kidnapping and escaping to go to Lily's house.

'If I'm really in Lily's house then...'

"Lucas?!"

Mia's voice was cold and it sounded to Lucas as if she was trying to confirm if it was really him or not. He answered, "Yes! It's me."

"Where is Lily? Why am I alone with you in your bedroom?" Mia's voice turned even colder and threatening.

"My sister & her family went away for the weekend. Because of the weather they were not able to come back today. I brought you to my room because I can't leave you in the living room in this state and also can't take you to Lily's room either." Lucas answered her calmly.

Hearing Lucas's words Mia unconsciously looked at herself. Seeing her condition she hurriedly tried to cover her exposed skin with her hands.

Seeing Mia uncomfortable like this Lucas suggested, "Why don't you just go to the bathroom and take a hot shower. You got drenched because of me, you must be cold. Meanwhile I'll arrange some clothes for you."

Mia fell silent for a while. Lucas didn't rush her and waited patiently for her answer. Finally after two minutes she nodded in agreement. Lucas stepped aside and gestured her towards the bathroom. Mia slowly entered the bathroom and locked it.

Lucas turned around and entered his closet to find a pair of clothes for Mia and for himself to change into. He was just going to take off his wet clothes when he suddenly heard Mia's voice. Loud screams and painful cries can be heard through every corner of the house.

Lucas ran towards the bathroom and tried to open the door but it was locked. He started calling out to Mia anxiously.

"Mia, are you okay in there? Mia! Answer me!"

"Open the door please!"

"Mia! Open the door!"

But Mia was too lost in her own pain that she couldn't hear anything. Seeing Mia not opening the door and still crying, Lucas rushed downstairs and grabbed the keys to the bathroom door.

When Lucas unlocked the door and entered the bathroom seeing the girl infront of him he cried out,

"MIA! NO! STOP!"

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!"

"MIA! STOP! PLEASE!"
