"What was that?" As they drove away Mark turned to Lucas who was driving and asked.

"What was what?" Lucas asked him back obviously knowing what Mark was asking him about but feigning innocence.

Mark rolled his eyes, "Why were you flirting with Mia just now?"

Lucas raised an eyebrow and his voice cold as he said, "Why? Only you are allowed to flirt with her?"

"That's not the point. Tell me what's going on man. You've been acting very differently around her for quite some time now."

Lucas stayed silent trying to ignore his question. He knew why Mark was asking this. He was aware of his change of feelings towards Mia very well. After that incident he got to know Mia properly for the girl she really is. And as much as he tried he couldn't help but have feelings for Mia.

But he was still not sure if he wanted to tell Mia or Mark about this especially when he has a doubt that maybe Mark also likes Mia.

Mark seeing that he wasn't getting a reply decided to drop it for now but he was definitely going to get it out of his buddy very soon!

"So, what shall we watch tonight?" Mia asked Rachel who was ordering food for them.

"Let's watch 'The Proposal' "

"Okay."

They settled down in the living room couch watching the romantic-comedy and waiting for their food. After a while the doorbell rang and Rachel received the food as Mia brought some plates and water.

Finishing their food and their second movie Rachel got ready for bed but Mia got up and picked up a notebook. Rachel confused asked Mia, " What are you doing? Aren't you going to bed?"

Mia avoiding her eyes answered back, "Actually I forgot to complete my Literature homework and we have to submit it tomorrow. Otherwise you know how Mr. Clark is right. So you go ahead I'll join you in just an hour OK."

"Ugh! Fine!"

As Rachel went to the bedroom Mia smacked her head and reprimanded herself in her heart for lying to her best friend. She has already completed all her work but for some reason although what Lucas said was to tease her, she ended up doing this extra copy of homework for him.

After lying in bed to her side she lightly traced her left cheek where earlier today Lucas kissed her and smiled to herself.

Next day at school when Lucas entered the classroom with Mark, Mia was already sitting in her place. Reaching his seat a little further in the back suddenly his cellphone buzzed in his pocket. Upon checking it the screen showed a message from Mia.

'Under your desk.'

Lucas looked at Mia who was sitting in the corner seat by the window her back towards him and while thinking he reached under his desk only to find a notebook. As he opened and checked the content of the notebook a brilliant smile found its way to his face and his eyes shone brightly.

Still smiling he typed a reply and sent it back to her.

'Thank you, Baby ;) '

Reading the text he sent Mia shook her head. She felt a fluttery feeling in her stomach and a light shade of pink colored her cheeks. She felt somewhat happy that Lucas couldn't see her face right now otherwise god knows how much more he will tease her.
