22 Cherry On The Top.

As they were in the cafeteria waiting in line to get their food Rachel & Mia were talking about their day so far. So, they didn't realize that Sharon was now behind them until she spoke with a dramatic tone and clapped mockingly,

"Oh look who it is! If not Mia Johnson who steals other people's boyfriends!"

Mia & Rachel turned around and a look of annoyance was evident in their faces. Why can't Sharon just leave them alone!

Mia narrowed her eyes at Sharon as she said, "What did you just say?"

"Oh you heard me!"

"Hey Sharon did you really forget whom Mia used to date before? Or your bimbo-brain has crashed down!" Rachel snapped.

Sharon's confidence wavered remembering Mia's ex because he wasn't someone anyone could ever forget or even look down upon.

Ryan Kenner was a year senior to them and was the most popular and handsome guy of their school. Apart from his good looks his kind-hearted soul and amazing nature were his plus-points. He proposed to Mia infront of the whole school and they were the cutest couple of their school.

But when Mia's mom died she pushed everyone away even Rachel. After that she broke up with Ryan and he left for college. They didn't stay in touch after that.

"Rach, leave it. She's not worth it." Talking about Ryan with Sharon wasn't worth in Mia's eyes so she stopped Rachel. But Sharon just thought that like always Mia was just dodging her.

"Ryan is past honey presently she's going after My Lucas. I can't just stand here and watch her do that. Get a life and a boyfriend of your own Johnson."

"Your Lucas!" Mia laughed out but her voice was icy cold. Rachel who was standing just next to her was taken aback by this sudden change and fell silent.

"Last time I checked Sharon, Lucas is still single and I didn't see you having the guts to confess to him either. So, why don't you just gather enough courage to do so or maybe move on. I don't think Lucas will be very happy to find out about your little 'claiming session'."

She paused a little then said, "And about me finding a boyfriend I don't have to do that either because I'm not desperate like you."

"You..." Sharon's mouth fell open and her face grew red in embarrassment. No matter how much she tried to retort back she couldn't come back with anything.

Just then a cheerful voice complained behind them, "Why are you guys taking so long? You made me wait so much." Mark pouted and sling his arm around Mia's shoulder. Mia smiled up at him.

"Well someone here was trying to find a boyfriend for Mia hence, we got stuck!" Rachel scoffed.

"Really... but that's not necessary now you know 'cause she's got me." Mark looked at Sharon then tilted his head sideways and smiled at Mia, "Right, love."

Mia rolled her eyes smiling, "Yeah right."

"Let's go then. Bye, Sharon." Mark waved at her and walked away with Mia followed by Rachel.

Sharon had no option but to see them leaving. She felt so embarrassed and angry at Mia she promised herself that she will definitely humiliate Mia infront of everyone especially Lucas. So that any dream that Mia will have of getting close to Lucas will be completely shattered. And to add fuel to her fire just a few minutes later she and everyone in the cafeteria witnessed a scene that none of them ever expected.

Rachel & Mia settled in their usual seat and Mark took a seat across them as Rachel asked, "Where's Lucas? He didn't come?"

"He said he will meet me here directly. He might be here anytime."

As in cue Lucas entered the cafeteria and looked around. He spotted them seated together and chatting. He got his food and walked straight to them and took a seat next to Mark across Rachel and smiled at her.

Rachel smiled back then she noticed almost every eye in there were on them. Then she turned and caught Sharon's burning gaze. Rachel smirked wickedly and winked at her.

And Sharon lost it! She stood up abruptly causing her chair to make a loud screeching noise in the unusually silent cafeteria and stomped off the doors.

Rachel and Mark laughed and Mia just shook her head smiling whereas Lucas was confused at them. A moment later Rachel then said to Lucas, "We know about you two you know," she gestured between him & Mia then continued, "but everyone else here are still in the impression that you two are arch-enemies so don't you think it's a bit strange for you to sit here with us, with Mia."

Mark nodded in agreement and Mia just looked at him waiting for him to reply. Lucas looked at all of them then rested his eyes on his cute little cousin whom he had gotten very fond of in a very little time. He leaned closer and pinched her nose lovingly and said, "I don't find anything strange in having lunch with my annoying cousin here," he then turned and put his arm on Mark's shoulder, " and with my best buddy."

Then he looked at Mia whose eyes were on him all this time and said, "And having a beautiful company like Mia with you two for lunch... is just the cherry on the top."

Mia's cheeks turned pink at Lucas's comment and Mark agreed with him smiling knowingly, "Touche!"

Rachel's mouth fell open and she looked between them then she pointed her finger at Lucas and hissed, "You are annoying."

And they all burst out in laughter once again. Everyone around were confused because they were expecting a tensed environment at their table but this was completely opposite of it.

While everyone were lost in their own thoughts and Rachel & Mark were not paying attention, Lucas held Mia's gaze and very expertly and flirtatiously winked at her. Mia's eyes grew wide at his bluntness and she looked around to see if anyone else noticed it. When she was sure that no one else were paying attention she looked back at Lucas who was still looking at her and blushed profusely. She shook her head and dropped her gaze to her plate. She just couldn't understand Lucas sometimes!
