Chapter 1: Who's the leader?

A student with dark black hair and eyes was smiling at the back of the bus while looking around. This student was Yuichi. Katagiri.

As Yuichi looked around the bus, his smile only deepened; he looked like a child entering a candy store for the first time.

Due to several events, Yuichi ultimately enrolled in the Advanced Nurturing High School. Their achievements and guarantees were just too much for him to ignore. The Advanced Nurturing School, run by the Japanese government, guarantees its graduates can fulfill their dreams without problems after graduation.

Want to become an NBA player? Want to start a company? Even if you wanted to be an idol or celebrity, this school would "ensure" that all your desires were satisfied after graduation. It is said that even students in the lower class can instantly jump to the top 2% of earners in Japan by simply completing their education at this school.

Such a school must have a sort of secret that allows them to raise students to a certain caliber, or else it would be impossible for them to justify the school.

No tuition or money was required to enter the school, yet it stood on a billion-dollar artificial island. Yuichi was most interested in the government's faith in this school. How can they justify spending billions of dollars without receiving any payment?

A school shrouded in mysteries.

Looking at his fellow students on the bus, Yuichi saw nothing peculiar about most of them; they seemed like regular high school students. This only made Yuichi smile more. What mystery was awaiting him inside this school?

Finally, the bus arrived, and Yuichi stepped out onto the island. According to the information brochure he received only 10 minutes ago, he was to report to Classroom C and await further instructions from the teacher.

Walking through the school, Yuichi realized that this school wasn't just worth a billion dollars but tens of billions of dollars. An entire shopping mall, karaoke rooms, cafes, restaurants, electronic shops, and whatever else you need were all present. To say that this school was a town would be an underestimation; he had seen towns smaller than this in the rural countryside of Japan. The mysteries of this school kept growing.

At the same time, Yuichi could see a security camera throughout almost every corner of the school.

Did the school really not trust them? He would understand if there were security cameras only inside the stores. However, he could spot over a hundred outside while walking to his classroom. Something was wrong.

Finally entering his classroom, the voices of tens of excited high school students filled the air.

"I can't believe we get to live in his nice school FOR FREE!"

"Do you guys want to go to Karaoke after this?"

These students seemed oblivious to the school's education policy. If the government could justify spending over a billion dollars on the construction of the school alone, the education would surely be the hardest they had ever seen. Yet, here they were, talking about going to Karaoke.

They were sure to be shocked when the teacher came in. Holding his laughter and mocking words, Yuichi began gazing at the window to pass the time.

"Quiet!"

Drawing his gaze away from the window, Yuichi looked at the front of the room, where a middle-aged man in a brown suit and glasses was standing. This was a teacher at the so-called number-one school in Japan. Looking at him, I see nothing special, and honestly, if Yuichi had seen him on the streets, he would have seemed like an ordinary office worker.

Yuichi's classmates stopped talking and looked at the teacher with disappointment. What did they expect? A super hot officer worker straight out of a romance anime?

Looking at his classmates, Yuichi noticed a foreigner with muscles budging out of his school uniform and a student with long purple hair staring ahead with a bored expression. Yuichi did not think too much of either of them, as with his martial arts experience, he knew he could easily take them down.

The teacher turned around to face the whiteboard, took a small piece of chalk, and wrote his name on the board: Kazuma Sakagami.

After waiting for a second, the teacher immediately faced the students again and began speaking.

"This school does not have a system for changing homeroom teachers. That means I will be your homeroom teacher for the next three years and also teach you mathematics."

I could hear some groans from both the female and male students. Yuichi could not believe how spoiled these students were. Here they were, getting the opportunity of a lifetime by being able to attend the number one school in all of Japan, yet they were sad because their teacher wasn't attractive. Someone needed to teach them a lesson in discipline.

"Since I arrived earlier than expected, the entrance ceremony will be held in about an hour. I will give you your school devices, which are already loaded with 100,000 private points for this month. As for these points, you can use them to purchase anything you may desire within the school."

Since this school was completely shut off from the outside world, it wasn't unexpected for them to have their own currency, but hearing Sakagami's words, Yuichi realized that the school was quite strict. Any contact with the outside world, whether social media or texting, was disallowed and would result in expulsion.

It seemed like those rules about strictness went through one student's head and out the other as almost all of Yuichi's classmates were discussing their balance. According to the teacher, one point was equivalent to one yen, meaning that the school had just given a bunch of high school students 100,000 yen each, and to top it all off, the teacher mentioned that they would receive points every month.

There were over 500 students in this school, meaning that the school was spending about 50 million yen each month. Such a thing was impossible. However, his naive classmates seemed not to realize it.

"THIS IS AMAZING! WE'RE RICH. "

"Is this a dream? 100,000 yen each month, and we don't even have to do anything?"

"Hey, why don't we shop for clothes after the ceremony? We can buy whatever we want!"

Some students could be seen kneeling on the floor and praying to the School's "gods" or the principal/chairman.

After receiving his phone, Yuichi quickly checked the apps installed on it. There were chatting apps, studying apps, and even an app store where students could download various mobile games. The school was giving them a phone and basically giving their students permission to download games that would distract them from studying. They tried to distract the same students; they gave them 100,000 yen, too.

Usually, a school would have strict rules prohibiting downloading games or chatting apps, yet this school gave the students free rein to do whatever they wanted. What was this school's curriculum?

If the school gave them the perks of having a free cellphone and over 100,000 yen per month, how challenging could the school's education be? Is this school buttering us up like farmers do with livestock?

Sakagami completely ignored the student's chatting and seemed to space off while staring out the window. Will he explain the school's education policy or give them more information regarding the private points? Nope, he was just going to stare out the window.

Seeing the teacher completely distracted, the students's chatter became even louder, and some students even began going around and introducing themselves.

Yuichi, however, was confused; what was the teacher planning to do with them? Did he want them to introduce themselves, or did he want them to ask him questions, or was he OK with them talking amongst themselves for the rest of the hour?

A female student in the front row with green hair glanced at the teacher and smiled before standing exuberantly and announcing.

"Hey Everyone! Since we will be classmates for the next 3 years, let's introduce ourselves in order from the front row to the last!"

Is this what the teacher wanted them to do? However, when Yuichi glanced at Sakagami, he still spaced off into nothingness. Clearly, the teacher expected them to do something else. However, the female student kept speaking.

"This way, we can learn more about each other and get to know people with similar interests before the entrance ceremony. Besides, 45 minutes before the ceremony, we can select our class representatives."

At the words, class representative Yuichi looked at the female student. If anyone would be the leader of this god-forbidden class, it would be him. Yuichi would be damned if he was going to be someone else's servant during the 3 years at this school.

Yet, this girl who was speaking seemed to be on a trek to becoming the representative already, as most of the students were giving their full attention to her, and every word the female student spoke was filled with confidence.

Was she trying to take the class leader job away from Yuichi already?

No way in hell. Most students would be okay with letting someone else become the representative as that student was essentially volunteering to do more work. However, the power that came with the representative was nothing to be doubted. The teacher's continued silence also led some students to believe that the teacher wanted them to select a class representative.

The girl's words became even more confident as she noticed none of her fellow classmates were objecting to her words, and her smile brightened even more.

"Then I'll start. My name is Shiho Manabe, and I like t-"

A voice broke out from the middle of the classroom and interrupted Manaba's introduction.

"This is so boring. Can't you shut the fuck up already?"

The Class was immediately stunned by his blatant disrespect towards Manabe, and they turned their direction to a purple-haired student sitting in the middle of the classroom. The student had his legs up on the desk, and his cocky expression on as he was smirking while staring back.

Meanwhile, Yuichi's smile grew. Finally, there was some real competition for the position of class leader.

Looking at the seating chart on the blackboard, Yuichi learned this student's name: Ryuen Kakeru. His confident demeanor showed that he wasn't afraid to be disliked, and his body seemed pretty well-built.

Manabe, still standing in the front row, immediately stopped speaking momentarily and stared back at Ryuen. After regaining her composure, Manabe once again began to speak.

"Do you have som-"

Ryuen interrupted Manabe again, but he wasn't talking to her anymore; he spoke directly to the teacher.

"Teacher, doesn't this school care too much about the safety of its students? That security camera is getting in the way a bit."

Glancing at the teacher, I noticed that instead of spacing out, he seemed to be smiling and staring back at Ryuen.

Is this what the teacher wanted to happen?

While the teacher stepped away from the window and walked towards his desk, Manabe seemed to be at her limit as she responded.

"YOU!"

This student interrupted not once but twice, and now he ignored her like she was a speck of sand on a beach. If it weren't for his cocky demeanor and well-built body, she would have immediately hurled thousands of insults at him, but he had some aura of fear surrounding him.

This time, however, nobody was listening to Manabe. All of Class C was watching as the teacher opened a drawer on his desk and took out an inflated balloon. Immediately, thousands of questions flooded Yuichi's mind.

Did he already know what Ryuen was going to do? How the hell was the balloon already inflated and waiting on his desk to be used? Also, looking at Sakagami, he wasn't angry at Ryuen, who had interrupted the self-introductions, but instead, he was the opposite. His smile seemed full of glee and appreciation as he stared back at us.

Is this what he wanted in the first place?
