26 Chapter 26

Sudo and Syl high fived with huge smiles on their faces.

Syl looked back at the crowd and winked at Nagumo again!

How could he not thank the guy who set this all up for him?

Syl got back up and checked the ball again. This time the double team was immediately on him.

So, Syl passed.

Sudo caught the ball in the post and started slowly backing down the defender before hitting a short fade with ease.

Just because Syl has been stealing the spotlight doesn't mean that Sudo was a slouch! He was one of the top 5 basketball players at this school, in a 1 on 1 situation against a weaker player he was bound to score most of the time.

Syl got set back up at the top of the 3 pt line and got ready to check again.

He had the ball passed back to him and he started dribbling around the court looking for an opening.

Eventually he looked at the defender and smiled. "How do you like your coffee?"

The defender was short on breath due to the constant running and physical activity so he didn't waste his breath answering the pointless question.

Syl did a little hesitation move before speaking up once again.

"Would you like it with milk…" Syl took a step back to the free throw line and shot a sky hook. "... or Kareem?"

*swish*

"Hahahaha!" Syl laughed at his own joke as the ball rolled along the ground.

Syl looked up at the scoreboard.

11-4

He smiled and jogged back to his position.

In the crowd. Over 200 students were currently in attendance, along with many teachers.

That was more than an entire grade! Without any expulsions!

Even Nagumo was shocked, this had become a much bigger event than he had ever expected. He might actually go broke at this rate with all the free food and drinks he was giving out!

Well, not actually, but he was still spending a lot, probably at least 200,000-300,000 points.

He wasn't even getting to see Syl being trampled on! What a waste!

Over in the bleachers, two people were talking.

"You never told me he was so amazing!"

"... I didn't know."

"Sureee you didn't, how could you not know someone like this was in your class?!"

"A lot of students in my class this year are enigmas. They are all very special."

"What's this? Is Sae-chan bragging right now? How rare!"

"I was merely stating a fact."

"Mhmmm. Then you won't mind if I snatch him up? My class could use someone who excels in athletics and academics too! I'm sure Ichinose would be overjoyed!"

"Don't make such jokes Chie." Chabashira said with a furrowed brow.

Hosinomiya pouted and mumbled. "Who said I was joking? He's also super cute, why does she get all the fun students? Hmph!"

Chabashira just ignored her and focused on the game.

Syl had just missed a shot and class A had possession of the ball.

Then Class A scored.

"BOO! Give Syl the ball back!" Hosinomiya called out cutely.

Nearly half the crowd cheered in favour of Hosinomiya's statement. Syl was super entertaining! His play style and occasional commentary were the whole reason everyone here was having so much fun!

"Syl! Syl! Syl! Syl!"

Syl was on cloud nine! How often do you get to hear hundreds of people chant your name?!?!

Never! You're all losers! But Syl wasn't! He was a hero!

At least he thought so…

Anyway!

Another 15 minutes passed.

The people in attendance were now nearing 300, over half the school was here now.

The scoreboard read 18-17 with Syl and Sudo in the lead.

Class A currently had the ball. One of these players was left open for three and made the shot with ease.

18-19

"Shit! Why didn't you guard him! He was wide open!!" Sudo screamed.

The crowd was starting to get annoyed with this Sudo guy, everytime Syl made a good play he would be all happy, but then if anything slightly bad ever happened he would always blame and get mad at Syl! Even when it was his own fault!

Plus they thought Syl was carrying the team! He had 13 points and a few assists after all, plus he had 3 steals!

Most of them didn't realize that this kind of thing was only possible due to Sudo being there to support him and draw away the defence, get rebounds when Syl missed, get rebounds when the other team missed, make the tough plays in the paint, etc.

The crowd only cared about the flashy and eye catching plays Syl had been making all game.

However, Syl did understand that he couldn't win this game without Sudo, and that Sudo was contributing just as much, if not more than him to this game.

Syl took a deep breath. "Listen, take a breather. Calm down. You can't play when you're pissed."

"Don't tell me to calm down! I-"

*Slap*

The entire gym was stunned as Sudo held his red cheek. With his mouth hanging open in shock. A few girls in the crowed even felt like they awakened something new inside them. A few guys felt the same way too!

"CALM DOWN!" Syl shouted.

"Wha-"

Syl pinched Sudo's lips shut so he couldn't talk. "Count to ten."

Sudo was silent for ten seconds. Syl then let go of his lips.

"Thanks for that. But if you ever slap me again, I'll kill you." Sudo said in a calm voice before smiling. "Now, let's kick these idiot's asses."

Syl returned the smile. Plus, didn't he just accidentally provide Sudo with all the character development he would have gotten in the whole trial period with just one slap?

Sudo got the message, you gotta calm down sometimes!

Syl was so proud of himself, he's pretty much just as good as Ayanokoji!

Well, that's not at all what Sudo really learned in volume 2…

He also didn't develop nearly as much as he should have and it was 100% Syl's fault…

Syl was nowhere near as good as Ayanokoji, they weren't even in the same realm…

Anyway!

The dynamic duo got back into a defensive position.

This is where the real game starts!
