12 Origin

800 Million years ago.

A little lizard scuttled over the forest floor looking for food. It looked around with its big golden eyes as the sun reflected on it hard golden scales on its back.

'BANG' A wave of light passed over the little lizard.

It lay still for a while.

'BANG' A tiny green orb entered its chest at a high speed.

The little lizard started glowing green. Brighter and brighter it glowed until it was not visible anymore.

'ROAR' from within the light a mighty roar sounded.

The light then slowly faded away revealing the massive but beautiful and elegant form of a golden female dragon.

As the years passed by, this dragoness became the leader of the beasts and did many great deeds but the most notable was her part in ending the War of Origin. The dragoness's reason for ending the war was that had fallen in love with a human named Faramir. The dragoness learnt of a way to have a human form momentarily and thus they had children which were half-human half-dragon. The children developed into a race called Origin Elves.

The Origin Elves are humanoid creatures who have the strength, intelligence and magical affinity of a dragon as well as the endless potential to evolve and grow strong and adaptability of a human.

Unknown to humans, most of their power and knowledge comes from their draconic ancestors. They carry the bloodline of the Mother Dragon, Akira.

Once they awaken it they gain their pointed ears and if they cultivate their bloodline to a certain point they are able to turn into dragons and are then called Draconians. It is extremely hard to cultivate to that point so most of them stay as Origin Elves.

In fact, even awakening as an Origin Elf was difficult because instead of one Bloodline they had to awaken two! Not only that, they had to merge them as well!

Over time their numbers dwindled and new Elven Races appeared as to keep the Elven Bloodline from going extinct. These Elves were a mix of the Origin Elves and races such as Tree Nymphs, birthing Wood Elves, and Humans, birthing Low Elves, and many other races.

The Elves were split into six categories based on the purity of the Elven Bloodline. Origin Elves, True Elves, Divine Elves, Eternal Elves, Mortal Elves and Titled Elves.

Titled Elves were creatures with less than half of their Heritage filled with the Elven Bloodline who belonged to other races. The Heritage[1] is an infinate space which contains all the Bloodlines in a creature.

The difference between the higher five categories and the Titled Elves is huge. To give an example; Demonic Elves and Elven Demons. Demonic Elves were Elves with demonic features, while Elven Demons were Demons with elven features.

The reason why they are called Titled Elves, is that they have a chance to evolve into Elves if they abandon their dominant Bloodline.

Elves, before they activate their Heritage and awaken their Elven Lineage, look like other races depending on what type of Elf they are.

"...and now you know." Gu Kaiming said.

"None of us have pointed ears though, and considering that we look like humans, we must be Low Elves right?" Gu Long responded.

"Not many of us have awakened our bloodline and the few that have, use Glamour Spells, a type of Illusion Spell, to hide them. This sect is actually one of the many hidden bases of operations for the Elves inside the human kingdoms." Gu Kaiming avoided his second question completely.

"Have you awakened it, Kai?"

"No, not yet. I don't want to for now because once you awaken it you have to spend at least seven years in the Elven Capital where you will learn to control your powers as well as choose what profession you want to follow. I did not want to leave because I wanted you to grow up with a brother, and now even more so. I can't leave you alone. Mom and Dad's plan was to try to integrate you into the human society by getting you tested and into a human school but it is too dangerous. They could have found out about who you are and uncovered the entire Elven network in the human kingdoms. Our relationship is strained and could cause a war to erupt if the humans were to find out that we have 'invaded' them, so to speak."

"Brother, if I awaken my bloodline will you awaken yours?"

"Hahaha, sure." He chuckled. "That packet is precisely for that."

"Great! I will do that!" Gu Long snatched the old wooden box from the table and dashed out of the room and up the stairs. Leaving his brother on the couch.

"If only it were so easy for us..." Kai murmured.

[1] The Bloodlines don't actually fill the Heritage. What I mean is that depending on the amount of blood they have, if the Elven Bloodline isn't 50% or higher of the total blood than it is not the dominant Bloodline.
