54 Silly Angel

Chapter 54: Silly Angel

Amaiya suddenly froze. William wanted to turn around to see who was terrifying enough to make a Demigod have such a reaction, although the answer naturally came from the depths of his soul.

'An Angel...' he thought with surprise. 'Adam? But I haven't called him yet.'

He now knew that, for some strange reason, he would have no problems even if he looked at a God directly, so he did not hesitate and turned around.

And what he saw instantly confirmed his suspicions.

"An Angel."

In fact, that was the most appropriate word to describe 'Him', his appearance was as close to the angels in popular culture as possible.

'He' was tall and thin. His hair was quite long, it seemed to cover the entirety of His back, and it had a silver color.

The most impressive thing was the three pairs of wings that came out of His back.

"The Angel of Fate." A layer of sweat covered the witch's face, making her beauty unconsciously accentuated. Even so, her expression was twisted with panic and anger at having met such a fate... literally.

Ouroboros, the Angel of Fate, the Tail Devourer. This was a legendary figure, someone who appeared only in children's books and ancient tales.

Ouroboros landed softly on the building without a single speck of dust rising, His robes fluttering gently in the wind. 'He' looked at Amaiya.

"Go away, I haven't been told to kill you." 'He' spoke again with the same deep, ethereal voice.

The witch ran away instantly, she didn't even stop for a second to feel frustrated by the loss she suffered against William.

William himself felt that this had ended very anti-climatically again. The last time, with Ince Zangwill, it was something similar. He looked thoughtfully at Ouroboros.

"Did the True Creator send you?" He asked, although he already guessed the answer. Adam was powerful, but 'He' was not a God, it would be strange if there was someone as legendary as the Angel of Fate under His command.

Ouroboros nodded.

"My Lord has asked me to ask you if you want to join the Aurora Order." Now 'His' voice sounded much kinder than when he spoke to Amaiya.

William suddenly felt like crying. First, he had to interrupt his rest because a damn Demigod tried to end his life, and now he was being invited to join an infamous evil and terrorist organization.

"Can I refuse...?" He questioned in a pleading voice.

Ouroboros nodded again.

"My Lord said that if you refused there was no problem, he also asked me to tell you that it is a shame." 'His' expression remained unfazed.

'Well, I guess True Creator already knew that I would deny because I'm a Nighthawk.' William reflected. "Did 'He' happen to say why 'He' wants me to join Aurora Order?"

Ouroboros shook his head.

"And does Your Excellency know a reason?" He asked again.

Ouroboros shook his head again.

"I only follow orders, it is not my place to question my Lord's decisions."

"I see..." William realized that the Tail Devourer might not be the smartest person out there. "I'm sorry, it's hard for me to join an organization that constantly murders civilians and innocent people."

"Wow, you've become very bold these days, Darling..." Debris spoke for the first time in a while.

'It's because of all these powerful Beyonders that keep appearing one after another, I feel like my common sense has been buried.' William complained.

Ouroboros looked at him calmly.

"My Lord also said that 'He' no longer needs to act madly, so the Aurora Order will no longer need to commit such crimes." Ouroboros changed his expression slightly after saying this. "He predicted that you would refuse, so 'He' asked me to tell you that 'He' only wants you to do a mission from time to time in exchange for certain rewards."

'Damn, that guy seems to read all my thoughts before I even know them myself. Also, isn't Angel of Fate Ouroboros supposed to be a historical figure? Why does he seem to be a secretary who takes care of errands?' Out of frustration, William even stopped using honorific pronouns correctly. "What kind of missions would they be?"

"Murder people."

"I refuse."

"My Lord also said that you would reject that, and 'He' asked me to tell you that there would be no one innocent or good on the list, you can decide each time after knowing the details."

William's left eye twitched.

"What about my job as Red Glove?" He questioned.

"Amanises will allow it." This time there was some emotion behind Ouroboros' voice, it seemed like these were his own words.

William's eyes widened at the name. There was no high-ranking official in the Church of Evernight Goddess with that name, and that could only mean one thing.

'Amanises... that must be the name of the Evernight Goddess!'

Saying that name out loud must be a heresy of the highest order, no doubt.

However, these words convinced William, although he now wondered how close Ouroboros and Evernight Goddess were for him to say 'Her' name so casually.

"Okay, if it's under these conditions, I'm willing to accept the job." In the end, William ended up agreeing to work for a terrorist organization.

Ouroboros's wings moved slightly, his posture also visibly relaxed. In William's mind, this powerful and respectable Angel now looked like a little dog wagging its tail after correctly carrying out the orders of its owner.

"The fate of those favored by the Lord is undoubtedly greatness." Leaving these words as a farewell, Ouroboros faded into nothingness.

William clicked his tongue.

"He didn't even tell me how they're going to contact me, that silly Angel..."
