3 Beast Tide

Roaming across the forest, a pack of wolves was rapidly climbing a rugged hilly terrain. But one wolf was faster than all of them, it dug its sharp claws into the hill to pull himself up faster than the other wolves. The wolf's rapid speed in the night made it look like windshadows.

"To control a pack like this, one must show supremacy!" Lallahad said to himself since he had rejoined this pack. He needed to show them why he was the leader, and by showing off his speed he earned their respect.

When he reached the top of the hill, he howled in victory and stared down his pack. Their bodies drooped in subservience and they climbed up the hill and gathered behind him.

'Where are the nearest beasts?' His eyes shined as they turned to predator mode. He scanned the forest from the top of the hill and noticed a group of deer scampering near the bottom of the hill.

"Great, sustenance! AWOO!" He howled as he ran down the hill in an excited stupor. The pack behind him joined with bloody haste as they dashed down the hill.

At the bottom of the hill were 2 adult deer and one-horned deer. Its single horn was exquisitely crafted as if it were made out of jade and shined with sunlight.

[A 2-horned Jade Deer has the strength of an enhanced beast. It takes 25 yrs and proper mutations for a Jade beast to grow its second horn and become a truly enhanced beast]

"What is its strength with one-horn?" Lallahad asked as he still continued to run down the hill.

'Well, I have the numbers advantage and surprise. Plus I am their natural predator, at worst I'll lose some wolves.'

When Lallahad reached the bottom of the hill, he jumped as high as he could and jumped on top of the Jade Deer. The deer unexpecting the strike was unable to parry, Lallahad took a large bite into its upper body. He felt as though he bit right into some sort of metal, and was entirely unable to rip out the flesh.

When it flailed in anger and threw him off, he got his balance back in the air and landed on his feet. The Jade Deer released aggression as it emphasized it's horn in a fighting stance. Lallahad reciprocated as he tracked the ground with his sharp claws.

"AWOO!" He roared as his pack finally joined him from behind. The other two deer seeing the wolves fled off into the forest, leaving only the Jade Deer surrounded by the pack.

The Jade Deer's body started to perk up as its muscles bulged. Then it ran forward like a tank and slashed through the wolf defense.

'Why isn't it fleeing like other wolves...' Lallahad asked himself.

"Eve, what is the predator for Jade Deer?" Lallahad asked as his wolves were continuously being skewered and the beast was coming straight for him.

[Ironback Wolves are the main predator of Jade Deer.]

"What is the hunting style of Ironback Wolves?" Lallahad asked as he dodged to the side avoiding the deer's advance. Behind it was a trail of skewered wolves, leaving only 7 live wolves in a broken formation near Lallahad.

[Trap the horn with Ironbacks and the pack attacks]

'If that's the case, then I have an idea.' Lallahad thought with apprehension, it was a risky method but gaining benefits always requires some kind of sacrifice.

"Awoo!" He roared again invigorating the other wolves. Then he rushed at the beast, in turn, it dashed. As the came close to impact, Lallahad used his dexterity to dodge and crashed into the side of the deer.

The deer crashed into the ground and was unable to move. The wolves took that as a cue to attack and they rushed the deer on the ground. All 5 wolves swarmed the deer as they rapidly tried to bite it at first the flesh remained until eventually, they cut through the fur and flesh.

Underneath all of that was a white and red strange liquid swirling around creating strange shapes. The blood erupted out forcing away the 5 wolves as they flew back. The deer looked enraged as it turned towards Lallahad again and attacked with even greater speed.

Lallahad jumped to the side, striding at the fastest speeds possible. But the deer's speed had increased too much, it stabbed through it's left front paw and cut it clean off.

"Arghhh!" Lallahad roared as he fell back barely dodging the deer. His left front paw removed the remaining stub released a copious amount of blood that spurted like a geyser.

"Awoo!" Lallahad howled to make the remaining wolves attack, the deer off balance was unable to block the attack. The wolves swarmed on its back biting at it even further. Until it shoved them away again and skewered another wolf.

The moment the wolf was stabbed into, Lallahad moved jumped forward in a haste with his 3 paws. He slammed into the horn of the deer and used the weight of the skewered wolf to slam it off. The horn started to crack, as the deer started to howl in pain.

The horn cracked off with the wolf, but the deer was not content with just that. It stabbed Lallahad on the side using the broken horn. But at that ideal moment, the beasts jumped on top of the deer and started biting. Their furious attacks bit away at the fur with haste.

This time the strange liquid didn't block it, instead, its body reverted to regular flesh and the ripped it apart. They were about to drink its blood when Lallahad stood up and roared.

"Awoo!" He howled with aggression as he limped towards the corpse, the other wolves stared with covetous greed. They turned their bloodlust towards Lallahad.

[Initiating Evolution Protocol....]

The blood in the Jade Deer churned and erupted, white and red intertwined together as it created a stream. On Lallahad's body, tentacles appeared as they writhed and shot out into the air. They quickly engulfed the streams of blood energy as they devoured with haste.

The wounds on Lallahad body rapidly closed up and healed. Then his leg started to regenerate becoming a new and stronger leg. Then his body started to bulge, slowly increasing in size as his canine sharpened and elongated.

The remaining 4 wolves looked with apprehension at the scene of his evolution. Lallahad howled as his black fur turned white and slowly reinforced. The tentacles re-entered his body disappearing as his stats changed.

"Haha, evolution at last." Lallahad laughed as he looked at his new and more powerful body.

"This Eve system will be incredibly useful." he said as he turned to the remaining 4 wolves. They had displayed aggression towards him at his moment of weakness. He needed to re-establish his dominance once again.

He howled and this time his howl echoed with the air fluctuating intensely. It was as if his howl would tear the forest apart.

The wolves suddenly laid on their paws in complete subservience. Lallahad slowly moved towards them as their fear became increasingly evident.

"Hehe, they are in my complete control now good." Lallahad laughed

'But I need to find more wolves to control.' Lallahad thought as he jumped and climbed back up the hill.

When Lallahad reached the top of the hill again, he looked down on the deer's corpse. Then he activated his predator eyes and looked around the area near it. All sorts of beasts seemed to be approaching, wolves, jaguars, and even a bear.

But that wasn't what was of most interest to him, he saw at the edge of this beast tide was a humanoid. The moment his eyes landed on the person, they turned up and looked at Lallahad.

Then a beam of red light slammed into the hill. Lallahad's fur stood up and intertwined as it reinforced into jade. The light hit it and was unable to puncture the fur, it dispelled in a moment.

'A human, I need to leave...' Lallahad thought as he looked one last time at the human. Before he turned around and ran off with his pack following with.

If he stayed around he may have been able to dominate a lot of new beasts and get stronger. But if that human noticed his evolution system he would be hunted down and dissected by humans. He would do the same himself to get such a powerful system under his control.
