6 The Meet and Greet Ball

"Good morning, wake up" said Austin waking me up . I woke up and found that he was sitting near my bed and Alexa and Brown were also not there. " What are you doing here?" I asked him smiling ( I don't know why I can't control my smile whenever I am with him ) . "I will take that as good morning from you" said Austin "Good morning "I replied him "Come with me fast" he said pulling me out of the bed . I got out of bed and he grabbed my hand and took me to a room but before entering the room he closed my eyes. "Austin" I said hoping that he would tell me "No, I am not going to tell you anything" he answered walking me inside the room . "Surprise" I heard every one scream it . There was a big board on which they have planned the whole day . "All the childrens are going to have a fun day today and we will get to know you better" said Princess Olivia and Ariana "You helped them?"I asked Josh and Rebecca . " We helped her because we wanted a fun day not because of you" Josh replied but Rebecca told the truth. Josh might show that he doesn't care but I know that from the inside he cares a lot . I got a call from the principal of our school so I had to leave the room. She asked me that what should be done as there will be heavy rain today after 2pm and tomorrow also. I told her that we can do half day till 12 noon as many students have to submit their holiday home work today. I went inside the room again and told the about school they were a little upset but they said that they can plan tomorrow again. We went in our room to get ready . I was looking at the mirror and was sad , " What happened Corts?"she asked " It's not me" I said as I remember that Aunt Belle use to do my hairstyle on special occasions and I used to braid my hairs for school everyday but it is not the same anymore . "I hate it , I don't want to be a princess" I said . "Relax, but there is no other option Corts and beside it gave you your family" said Alexa . "But it took my other family as no one in school cares about me anymore. I am the same Cortney I have always been but no one cares about that anymore ,they just see this crown not me" I said . "Well, Bertha still hates you" said Alexa trying to make my mood good . "She always crosses her limits and who speaks like that ?" I said . "I don't know maybe Bertha" she replied . "Hey Corts" said Austin as he entered with Carl and we could hear Carl telling him that they should have asked before entering. "Austin" I said looking at him "What do you want me to take permission before entering your room madam?" he asked "No" I said "I was saying let's go" I completed my sentence.

As we were going outside the palace after getting ready Olivia and Ariana told us that they have another surprise planned for us we were scared as they are not good at cooking and what are we going to do if they have cooked something for us . " I am vegetarian" I said so that I don't have to break their hearts and it is a truth "Everyone is vegetarian in the royal family" they told us that the surprise was something else. We left the royal palace with aunt Luciana . "You have a lot of responsibilities on you" she said . 'I know that aunt" I replied "You have to be ready" she said . "For what?"I asked "To smile no matter in how much pain you are cause no one cares" she said "I think everyone has someone who cares like friends" I said " I don't interact with people that much"she said as we reached school . It was weird as she was a very funny person but not today and Carl also told us that she has a lot of friends . The most weird thing was that we heard her saying, " No one has changed still the same" as we got out of the car . We went inside the school . " Guys come here" said Austin as he was looking at the notice board and there was quiet a crowd of students near . We went there and saw that there was a notice of a ball at the royal palace by princess Olivia and Ariana . "We are very pleased to inform you that there will be a ball at the royal palace and every one is invited although higher classes are requested to come in pairs. The ball is on 11 July ,2019" said Alexa as she read the notice . So this was their surprise and we were worried about their cooking. We were going inside the class when I saw Bertha and went to say sorry to her for slapping . Luckily this time she apologized for her behavior instead of mocking me . "I hate you" she said and I replied by saying, "I hate you too" . I hate you in her language meant I forgive you. Austin told me that he wanted to talk to me alone so I went with him. "I want to ask you a question" said Austin "okay" I said "You know what I am going to ask right ?" he asked "No" I replied "I know you know, right?" he asked again and I said, " Not this time" . He kept confusing me like this for a while and then asked , " Will you go to the ball with me?" . "Yes, this was what I was going to ask you" I said and I don't know why but when he was taking to me I was feeling something kind of nervous . As we were going back a boy who is part of Bertha's gang asked me to the ball but I denied it. "Any reason?" he asked "I am going with Austin" I replied but he said that no one knows that I was going with him "You hate me" I said grabbing Austin's hand and walking away as I knew it was part of a new plan of Bertha to irritate us.

We entered the class and I was surprised to see that my class has planned a party for me like we use to do to tell that they still remember me . I was so happy and really enjoyed the party but after the poarty Austin and Carl started ignoring me and Alexa for no reason. They didn't waited for us either as we had to go to the library to return books.

We came back to the royal palace and started looking for Austin and Carl and were about to check the ball room when Josh said that aunt is calling us and left. I was really confused about who was calling us . We went to every aunt even my mom but no one was calling us so we went back to our room and changed our clothes.

We decided to look again for Austin and Carl and were talking to each other while getting out of the room ,so we didn't noticed that Rebecca was there to scare us and her prank failed . She got upset so we asked her what we can do make up and she told us to come with her. We were outside ballroom when she told us to close our eyes and enter. We did as directed and found out that Austin and Car there were the whole time. They have decorated the ballroom for us and asked us to the ball again. I guess Austin really took that boy's words seriously. We were mad at them for ignoring us . They said that they were sorry but I was still mad at Austin . "Good luck" said Alexa and Carl to Austin as he would need it but he replied them by saying that he doesn't need that . He gave me chocolates( which if you don't know I love)and said sorry and I had to approve it. We watched movies together and went to sleep. The next day was a holiday due to rain so we had fun all day and played with Brown.

It was 11 July the day of the ball . We got up early as we planned a morning walk . I was thankful to Brown for waking me up or else I would have over slept . Brown has gotten close to everyone except Kaytlin as she is not an animal lover .We went to the school and returned a little late due to some work . Austin and Carl were taking some rest and we were bored so we decided to help Olivia and Ariana . We were near the stairs when we felt like the atmosphere was suddenly cold . I don't know how I felt a push and was about to fall when Austin saved me. " Why are you so careless?" asked Austin. "I thought you were in your room" I asked . "I got bored so I decided to check if you are free so we could help Olivia and Ariana" he answered . We all went to the ballroom and were soon joined by Carl . The ball was to start at 9pm so we went to get ready . I was very nervous as I was going to meet other royals(royals from other kingdom), so basically it was like a meet and greet ball. We got ready and went to the ball. The royals were really nice but I was glad to see students from our school cause they are like my family . We were talking to each other when a girl from Bertha's gang came near us . She grabbed my hand and started to pull me and said, " Come with me" .Austin grabbed my other hand pulling me back and said, " No ,she won't" "Yes she will and who are you to stop her?" she said pulling me towards her . "I am her best friend and she is not going with you anywhere" said Austin as he pulled me towards him and stepped between me and that girl. She had to leave . "What did you just did?" I asked him "I said I am your best friend" he answered "I asked what you did not said I am wearing heels" I said "oh but why?"he asked . " Gabriala gave me" I answered and we went to dance . Alexa and Carl decided to get water while Austin and I were still dancing. Suddenly we heard Carl and Alexa screaming at us to get away . We looked up to find that the big decoration was about to fall at us . We jumped at the right moment . We also managed to save the decoration from falling using magic and luckily no one noticed .We went to check how it all happened . Josh and Rebecca went with us . Josh found the rope but it looked like someone has cut it . Rebecca also found a black gem and Carl found I familiar . We went back and Josh and Rebecca didn't said anyting too.
