4 The Greed of Justice

Kiro cracked as his hopes for survival were slowly shattering. The only thing that he was able to imagine was the cruel scenario of his death . No one would help him , they would simply throw his corpse somewhere to rot and he would be forgotten . This wasn't the end he wanted nor the end he deserved. Kiro wasn't feeling the pain at all . He felt hungry but normal. He knew this was his only chance of securing food for the day , maybe even for tomorrow. So dire actions have to be made for dire situations. He stood up and headed forward in hope of finding what he was seeking for. He continued his way until he found a bakery. You could easily see the envy in Kiro's eyes . Kiro slowly approached the bakery and said.

-Please Sir I really need a loaf of bread.

-As long as you got the dreza

-But I don't have any , maybe you could give me...

-Do I look like a bloody charity to you , Get out of here before I kick you out!

For the first time here , Kiro felt anger . He wasn't sure before but now he was going to do what he had planned . He picked up a loaf of bread from the display and ran like hell was chasing him.

-Thief , thief stop that bloody thief , where the bloody hell are the guards ,

Two guards approached the baker and said

- Where was the thief headed for

-Forward you bloody idiot

The guards started chasing Kiro while he was running for his life . Tears were falling from his eyes and sweat covered his entire body .His legs were aching and his throat felt dry . He ran out of air but he couldn't stop. That loaf of bread felt like a treasure to him and he was not giving up that easy. He started running faster as the guards chased him down . Unfortunately luck wasn't on Kiro's side that day as one of the guards threw a rock at him .He lost his balance and fell to the ground once again biting the dust. The guards catch up with him and start kicking and punching him as hard as they could . The people around started cheering the guards like they caught the demon king .

-I bet you can't run now scumbag , now get up so I can send you in the place you belong .

Kiro simply could't stand up , His feet felt like they were burning and the only thing he could do for the moment was breath heavily

-I said stand up ,man swine - while kicking him in the stomach

-I guess we have to drag him there

-You are right

Each guard grabbed one of Kiro's leg and they started dragging him from the ground .

"Was this all , where are they sending me , what's even happening"

Then Kiro says:

-Please , I will try to walk .

-Then stand up

Kiro stands up while the guard takes out a leash and ties his hands . The pain in Kiro's chest starts to gradually increase and his heart starts beating slower and slower . Kiro holds himself together. He bites his tongue to distract himself and continues to walk .They slowly walk away from the capital to a path in the middle of the forest as they arrive to a tower surrounded by trees and other guards. Kiro is escorted inside the tower , the stairs , until he arrives in a corridor of cells. They open the door and throw him in one of the many cells in the corridor. He finds a corner and sits there but then he notices to other prisoners.

-Look Brogg , fresh meat

-I finally , some entertainment in this damn prison

-Please , Just don't hurt me

Brogg grabs a stone made knife and stabs Kiro in the shoulder

-How does it feel , that you can't do anything to protect yourself , when the weak are at the hands of the strong

-Why are you doing this

-Because I know you can't do anything about it , besides i'm bored and I just found a new source of entertainment , and I guess we will become really good friends maggot

He twists and twirls the knife in Kiro's shoulder while Kiro screeches in pain

The guards come to check then Brogg removes the knife before the guards can see it

-What is going on here

-As you see nothing

-Well , what ever you are doing keep it down , We're trying to play cards here

Then the guard leaves

Brogg punches Kiro with all his brute strength and says

-What do you think you doing maggot - then he kicks him in his head

-If you even think about screaming again I will slit your throat open

Brogg stabs Kiro in his other shoulder , Kiro bites his tongue so he doesn't make a sound

-It's boring when they don't moan in pain , besides i don't want you to die so easily - and then Brogg heads to bed

Kiro starts to weep quietly so Brogg and his lapdog can't hear him.

The pain in his chest collapses him in the floor , His eyes become heavier and heavier until they close. Kiro finds himself at the field again with Esgrieth waiting for him

-You failed Kiro Karasu , You failed , Now it's my time to take over

-Wait what do you mean

Kiro's vision starts to fade until it shatters into darkness while the only thing that he can hear is the deafening sound of silence , He knows he isn't dead but trapped inside his own mind while Esgrieth takes control of his body.

His eyes turn pitch black and he gives a grin that would give chills to anyone , while Kiro's conscience was locked inside him .
