17 Sins of the Divine

Not long after getting rid of the ghosts , Kiro hears a knock at his front door. He reached for the door and opened it . In front of him was standing a familiar figure , It was Vesper .

-I'm sorry to come here uninvited , may I come in?

-Suit yourself .

Vesper enters in the mansion , looks around and asks Kiro:

-Could you please lead the way to the nearest guest room

-Of course

Kiro leads the way to the guest room. Both men sit in front of each other .

-I've come to ask your aid once again .

-What is it?

-Another job inside the capital , this time it will be as hard as you want it to be.

-What do you mean by that ?

-Can you kill inside a church?

Kiro spaces out for a second

"People believe in god here? and still be such douches?

-Can you do it?

-It will cost extra .

-Your target is archbishop Junius , on of the most powerful figures in the capital .

-Can you describe him , I don't want to kill the first priest I see.

-Certainly , He is a elderly man , he has a birthmark on his forehead , he also carries a silver plated monocle , knowing this it would be easy to eliminate him.

-When do you want it done , If there is a time limit?

-As soon as possible , like always .

-I see , as you wish Vesper , but I will need a little bit of help.

-I will need someone to smuggle me in . Maybe you can make the merchant smuggle me in , nobody will suspect anything from him .

Kiro sets off then he turns back and says

Kiro heads to the stables running. Time passes , Kiro arrives at the stables and spots the merchant waiting for him .

"How could he get him so fast here , well , I can except everything from Vesper."

-Come on Kid , I don't like wasting time .

Kiro hops into the carriage and covers himself with several blankets he found there. The carriage sets off heading for the capital . It was dusk , the carriage is stopped by the two guards guarding the gate .

-State your business!

-I'm just a merchant , I'm delivering salt to the capital .

The guards don't check the carriage , they just demand for the toll.

-300 Drezas if you include your merchandise .

-Of course , here you go .

The guards collect the toll and open the gate for the carriage as soon as they enter the capital Kiro asks.

-Why didn't they check the carriage , Aren't they in a search for me ?

-It's for two reasons , the first reason is that they think you are hiding inside the capital, the second one is that they don't get paid enough to do this. Maybe you can be more thankful that they didn't check

-I guess you are right .

The carriage stops and the merchant says:

-It won't be hard to find the cathedral , You can see it from here , I will be waiting here , Good luck .

-Kiro gets off the carriage and starts lurking in the shadows in hope of reaching the cathedral . He hides in the shadows when he sees three guards passing by.

-And I told him , if you don't give me your hands , you won't need them for the rest of your life

-Then what did he do ?

-He refused , so he had them broken by us

-You should have seen his face .

The voices of the guards fade away.

"That was close , I knew the guards were jerks but they have reached a whole new level "

Kiro sneaks to the entrance and then enters into the cathedral . he sees a priest who is occupied with reading a book .

-Where can I find archbishop Junius

-He is in the booth , you may confess to him if you would like .

-Time leap

The time slows , the priest didn't see a thing as Kiro entered the booth . The time goes back to normal .

-May you confess your sins child

-Well , It wont be a need for that , I'm about to commit one now .

Kiro draws his sword and pierces into the booth , stabbing Junius in the process .

-You can't be the saint you claim to be , after all , I wouldn't be hired to take you out.

Not a single sound was heard from the other side of the booth . Kiro shakes his sword to get rid of the blood then sheathed it . He gets out of the booth like nothing happened , while blood leaked out of it.

The priest saw the scene and said

-You fiend , how you dare to raise your sword in a divine place like this .

Kiro stares the priest blankly in the eyes and then he kicks him in the face , He approaches him again and punches him as hard as he could .

-This will be enough for you to stay put , I'll let you live since you pose no threat to me.

Kiro then headbutts the priest and leaves him unconscious . He leaves the cathedral and looks around .

-Time leap

The time around him slows. Kiro runs past slow moving guards , past slow moving people , Kiro arrives at the carriage , hops in and tells the merchant to set off . They get out off the capital and head to the stables. As soon as they arrive Kiro meets Mister Vesper at the stables waiting for him.

-How did it go .

-Your bishop went to see his maker .

-Do you know the reason why I wanted Junius dead.

-I don't

-He wasn't a divine figure , He as corrupt as the whole nobility , He was involved in many unholy activities , one of them being prostitution.Women, children, even young boys.

"That sentence just erased my regrets for this job"

-The payment ?

-Of course , 16000 Dreza as we agreed.

Kiro takes the bag of money and leaves for his mansion. The path was dark but eventually he arrives. He heads straight for bed . His eyes become heavier and heavier , until he decides to close them.
