1 Not expected

In the picturesque sun set , at a quiet empty street walks by himself Kiro , your average high-schooler wandering in his thoughts while walking almost mechanically to his home . It's only him , the street , and his thoughts until a weep interrupts his trip. Confused , he starts to search the source of the unexpected sound . Just in a short while he sees an dirty alleyway , that alleyway seems to be like the source of the weep . He investigates the alleyway ,driven by curiosity, but backed by fear . He finds a girl , a girl with deep black hair and pale porcelain like skin. She had covered her face with her hands but she isn't interested to see who came to confront her. It looks like she was expecting a guest . Kiro feels like he has the power to help her but he is backed down by a mixed feeling of doubt and fear . He gets chills just by looking at her and he understands that something is not right . But he ignores those feelings and goes to comfort her . He puts his hand in her shoulder , and in loss of words just says:

-Are you alrigh?

The girl stops weeping , starts to wipe her face with her hands and reveals half of her face showing a pair of red eyes just like rubies. Then she grins . Kiro feels chills coming from his spine , his hand is shaking and his breath gets heavier and heavier . Kiro backs down but the girl stands up and walks towards him . Her facial features slowly change making her eyes wider , her skin more pale and her teeth sharper . She whispers to Kiro

-Don't struggle...I hate it when they struggle

She jumps toward him and then she disappears. Disturbed , Kiro looks blankly around him . He feels like he woke up from a nightmare. He stands up and feels heavier than before , his heart pounds slower and he feels dizzy . Once he turned around he couldn't believe his eyes . The alleyway disappeared and in its place was forest .

"What the hell happened , where am I , where am I "

The questions that every single human being would ask in his place. The Shock and panic conquer his mind while he stares the sky like it was responsible for all of this.

"Relax man , This has to be just a dream, just a stupid dream , nothing more "

But then , he realizes:

"But this doesn't feel like a dream at all , i can feel the breeze coming towards me , i can hear the birds singing and i feel dizzy , i think i gonna puke"

Suddenly he feels a collapsing pain coming from his chest , like something is devouring him from inside

-I never thought you would taste so funny

Kiro freezes , he just heard a voice coming from inside him , then he remembers the girl that jumped toward him .

-What happened , who are you , show yourself

-I have many names , but you deserve to know only one of them darling , Esgrieth

-What do you want from me ?

-Haven't you understood yet , you have become my personal play thing , while i slowly consume you

-But why me, from all people

-You were the fool who approached me first , it sounds fair to blame luck on your case.

Kiro wanted to hold himself together , he didn't want to let himself slip , without wasting time he said:

-I have only two questions for now , where am i and how much time do i have left

Esgrieth was surprised by the calmness of his words but she knew that he was panicking inside

-I see , i shall answer your questions darling , I am a demon , and i feast on the living fear , despair and agony . and here you aren't anywhere you expect , at least not anywhere in the world you know.

-the voice shatters in his mind and he is left only with a mind full of thoughts and a agonizing pain in the chest. Shortly after he hears a carriage coming and he sees a old man covered in rags . He has a long white beard and in his carriage lies a wounded knight.

"A knight !! Is he like a real Knight like the knights in the video games , I really have to figure out where the hell I am or I will go insane , well at least I know this isn't anything like japan.

Kiro runs toward the carriage only to be nearly hit by a flaming hellfire ball . Shocked he stared at the old man's face

The old man lowered what it seemed to be a staff and said

-I'm sorry young man , You shouldn't surprise people in the middle of the forest like that .

-You nearly sent me to oblivion and now you say you are sorry , what is wrong with you .

-Well everything seems alright with you so i will be on my way

-Wait , where are you going

-To Menal , the capital of the kingdom of Hellar

-I see , I would like to go there too

-I don't give rides for free young man , That would cost 50 dreza

Kiro , unsure what to do takes of his silver necklace and hands it to the old man

-I'm not sure if this worths much but i think i'll take it

Kiro sits on the carriage besides the wounded knight , he carefully sees his armor where you could easily spot claw marks . his white robe was covered in blood and he covered his face to hide some of the scars that ruined his looks.

Kiro didn't want to ask anything , he simply couldn't understand anything that was going on , knights , magic , that just didn't make any sense. But Esgrieth told him this wasn't like the world he knew so it would be better to not ask questions at all.
