14 Downfall of a Saint

Kiro arrives at the cabin and falls on the floor exhausted. His eyes become heavier and heavier until he decides to close them. He finds himself lying on the flowers of the endless field. Esgrieth stands in front of him with her legs crossed.

-What's wrong?

-Nothing , I'm just curious.

-Of what?

-What kind of person were you back in your world?

-I think I already told you about my life before I got into this mess.

-Let me simplify it for you. What was your average day?

-Well , let's see , I used to wake up at 7:40 am , I was always late for school. I didn't ace at everything but I wasn't a bad student . I had a few friends , not much just a few . I went at my grandpa's house to practice kendo, that was the only thing I really liked . I walked the same road home for quite a while and usually I would fall exhausted to bed, Until I met you .

-Sounds boring and monotone .

-Then later - And Kiro wakes up in the cabin. He gets up and starts wandering in the woods.

-The marquess Branigan is going to attend a meeting with the officials of the kingdom of Cassius ,to discuss the assassination of their ambassador . I don't want him to reach his destination . His going to be protected by eight royal knights . You know the path it's going to cross right?

-I passed by once there in my way to the capital.

-Good , now go

-Kiro mounts a horse and heads to the path that the carriage had taken. The horse was fast enough to catch up with the carriage . Kiro spots eight knights , two from behind , two on the sides, two riding the carriage and two on the front. He got close enough and jumped form the horse :

-Time leap

The time slowed down , Kiro pulled his dagger and stabbed one of the two knights from behind , then he drew his sword decapitating the other . After that He climbed the carriage, and killed the knights and threw their bodies towards the sides , their bodies floated in air , ready to bump with the knights in the sides. he jumps form the carriage and stabs with his dagger one of the guards in the front , mounts his horse and kicks the other . Blood floats everywhere and it is ready to splash the ground as soon as time goes back to normal. Everything looks so still until the time goes back to normal . The Knights who were riding the carriage bump with the guards on the side , the guard on the front who was still mounted on his horse falls and gets his head crushed by the carriage's wheel . Kiro rides his horse to the carriage's door and pulls his dagger . He opens it and gets almost stabbed in the face by a redheaded man . The horses pulling the carriage suddenly stop and Kiro slows down his horse . Two men get out of the carriage , one was the marquess Branigan and the other was the figure that almost stabbed Kiro .

-So you are "the reaper" that everyone is talking about?

"Couldn't they come up with a better nickmame?"

-Kiro remains silent .

-Allow me to introduce myself quickly , I'm sir Lyden , commander of the elite of the royal knights and one of the highest ranking heroes of Hellar. I am serving as a bodyguard of marquess....

-Bloodlust

Kiro's eyes turn pitch black .

-Time leap

The time slows down once again , Kiro draws his scimitar and charges the man just to get parried .

"How in the hell isn't he not affected by Time leap?!"

-I'm impressed , You are a human but you are able to use high degree demonic abilities .

-How is it possible that you aren't affected?

-High ranking heroes like me have divine protection on their side , from any type of magic or manipulation. Your skills are quite impressive but they are no match for me. You will fall for the sake of the souls you claimed.

-Don't worry , you will join them quickly.

Kiro then charges again at Lyden , this time pulling out his dagger and trying to stab the hero in the head , but he dodges it and kicks Kiro in the stomach. He swings his silver sword against Kiro , but he is able to parry the attack. Kiro steps backward , staring the opponent with his blackened eyes.

"I don't have time to mess with this douche , my priority is taking out the marquess."

Kiro jumps in the air , making the opponent think that he is going for an attack , but Kiro throws his dagger at the affected marquess , landing the dagger straight to the heart. The time goes back to normal. Kiro has never held the time leap this long , he feels exhausted but he doesn't show it. The marquess falls to the ground saying:

-I'm...I , sorry - then he takes his last breath

Kiro grins and looks at Lyden:

-Looks like you just failed

-Now it's time to end this madness - and charges at Kiro with full power.

Kiro barely dodges the attack then Lyden turns back and lands a hit on Kiro's back damaging him . Kiro runs towards the Branigan's body with Lyden chasing him . Kiro slides and pulls the dagger out of Branigan's lifeless body and uses it to parry an attack from Lyden and uses his sword to land a hit on Lyden's ribs . Lyden barely flinches and charges again at Kiro . This time Kiro parries his attack with his scimitar , and swings his dagger , cutting a wound at Lyden's chest. Then Kiro mounts a horse and says.

-I don't have time for this and then he sets sets off .

-I'm not leaving your deeds go unpunished! - then he mounts another horse and chases Kiro .

"Is this guy going to give up" then Kiro looks at his claw gauntlet

"I haven't used this the whole time , I would have a chance if I used this against him."

Kiro claws his horse , the horse starts running like crazy , outrunning Lyden's horse.

-Damn it , I failed , He won't be that lucky next time .

Kiro's horse gets out of control , Kiro calms himself down and

-Time leap

The time slows down, Kiro uses his ability to get off the horse and lets it fall from it's own feet. The time goes back to normal and Kiro continues his path on foot. He arrives at the stables and sees the man who had hired him a while ago waiting.

-So how did It go?

-At least the marquess bit the dust .

-Something went wrong?

-A hero was guarding him.

-At least the job is finished , here is you reward , 17000 Dreza
